I played an active household that used a laundromat for the first time here in 2023, and I had a little rage fit when I discovered that doing laundry there didn't actually do the laundry! SimsWiki says that when you interact with a washing machine at a laundromat, the active sim will gather up laundry and take it to the washer. I wasn't able to get this to happen, and I didn't see any EA code that would cause that to happen. Gathering up dirty clothes and emptying out hampers is connected to the washing machine being on a residential lot.

I was able to drag piles of laundry from the floor into my active's inventory, and using a laundromat washing machine will remove those inventory items. But otherwise, you just get the moodlets, and your hampers stuffed with dirty clothes stay stuffed.

This is a little mod to hack washing machine behavior on community lots (i.e. laundromats). Now, when you do laundry there, All hampers on your home lot will be emptied and floor piles removed.
