 Say Thanks!

Note: I do use a slight reshade filter, so the presets might turn out ever-so-slightly different in game- but not to an amount that I feel is deceiving. Bright green is bright green, warm deep brown is warm deep brown... This will also change depending on your monitor, graphical settings and so forth anyway.

There's a reason why I say male frame and not flat out "men" - My muse and goldenhaired simmie above (at age 30 and age 15) is genderqueer and on the more femme side, and triggered my cc making journey. As there just wasn't a lot for them out there! Straight up sundresses, a niche subculture, not the quality I want, outdated...

And what's more practical than a nice pair of booty-enhancing high waisted trouser in a flattering wide leg? I looked through the store and saw this (Attaboy Slick), and decided to yank the texture & mesh of the bottom, which was the easy part!

However, unfortunately, making high waisted trousers isn't as easy as it sounds, for male sims. While Female sim top & bottom meshes their seam/split is at what we would consider "high waist", those for male sims as more so at the high hip - resulting in any 3D high-waisted trouser overlapping with the torso by nature of how the games meshes are made, and texture only higher waisted bottoms get seam issues unless your texture is very flat and has no normal map. I had already made a version in january, which I released elsewhere, but as I was converting to teens I discovered new hacks at a hint of VirtualHugs and went overboard with it, resulting in 5 days of constant rerereweightpainting in order to have as little clipping between the pants and the torso as my sanity allows.

(I can ramble on about this, but then the post gets too long, see pics at the end of the carousel)

General Notes/Possible issues
  • The texture is slightly squashed at hip height in the slightly lower waisted version; this is due to me not knowing yet when I altered the mesh back in january how to efficiently re-bake a mesh to a new UV lay out, and changing all my textures retroactively seemed wasteful for a very minor thing. I didn't even see until I made the colorchannel pictures.
  • I didn't check every animation under the sun with extreme morphs, so minor clipping might still occur, but I am a content perfectionist.
  • These aren't perfectly snug to the body, and to give them a nice shape, the butt is a bit bigger than standard. This means they will clip with a lot of EA tops, but not all, practically requiring cc croptops or texture only tops; not my fault, EA should've made more croptops for masc frame sims. I will mention options below.
  • Since they're my muse, I include always at least one preset my sim Florian would wear, and they're a gender- nonconforming, flamboyant, ginger, green eyed, passionate & turbulent acrobat (Artist name Fiery Flo) with mixed supernatural lineage - they won't wear plain blue jeans! I also like color theory, and experimenting in CASt extensively, and give all my sims a designated color palette. So, this is why my presets might be a bit unusual.

What to wear these with?
  • Tops that are texture-only at waist height, or accessory texture-only tops with a naked torso.
  • Very cropped tops, such as this cropped Tee (V1) By Simtanico, I have a teen version ready to release as well.
  • The slightly lower waist will work with most tops that get read as "cropped", which is why I made it, minus very minor clipping or gaps.
  • I myself have multiple suitable things on another site & am working on more.
  • If you wonder about any of the tops used in the pictures, feel free to ask!
