Grim Reaper Career
This mod adds a custom Supernatural-themed career to the game: The Grim Reaper Career.
Sometimes it is quick and painless. Sometimes it is slow and painful. Sometimes you see it coming, and sometimes you don't see it at all. However it happens, Death comes for us all eventually... And here at the Reapers Agency we are the ones that do just that! Specifically in the collection of the souls of those who have passed on, but there are a whole heap of other roles for those willing to take on a job in the Netherworld. Originally all Reapers were those whom have died, but with skyrocketing death rates the Agency has had to resort to hiring living candidates in order to catch up with a massive backlog. If you don't mind getting a little morbid, and if you LOVE wearing black and swinging a scythe around, then being a Reaper will be just the job for you. With its global headquarters located in the Netherworld, accessible by portals found in the Mausoleums of most major settlements, the Reaper Agency is offering internship positions to potential applicants right now. – Grim Reaper Career Description
Rabbithole: The Grim Reaper career is situated in the Mausoleum rabbithole.
Work Tones (Grim Reaper):
- Business as Usual
- Work Hard
- Take it Easy
- Meet Co-Workers
- Work in Science Lab (Builds Science, Logic, Handiness, Inventing)
Level 1: Mausoleum Caretaker
Wages: §44 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
Getting a job with the Reaping Agency isnt easy. Unless you got a recommendation from the Magic Academy or know a Supernatural Hunter that can recommend you, your best bet is simply to find the entrance to the Netherworld in the catacombs and submit your application directly. You just KNOW that the hidden entrance to the Netherworld is hidden SOMEWHERE in these maze-like catacombs, and if you want to have enough time to find it without drawing any unwanted attention, working as a mausoleum custodian seems like the best way to do it. While you are cleaning graves and maintaining burial plots you are snooping around for just where you can find that blasted entrance...
Level 2: Netherworld Intern
Wages: §53 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
At last! You have found the entrance to the Netherworld beneath the Mausoleum and were accepted into the Reaper Agency when you handed them your CV. Unfortunately, you have to start off on the bottom rung of the ladder, doing an internship, which seems to be the only thing in the Netherworld worse than actual death. Fetching endless cups of coffee, filing endless stacks of paperwork and having to toady to all of the senior Reapers is a grim (pun intended) task, but it is the only way you will get to where you need to go. No point practicing swinging that scythe just yet, but learning all there is to know about the Netherworld will help you survive down here. And I do mean literally survive, because for every Reaper protecting the agency there are a thousand vengeful Shades looking to sink their claws into something.
Level 3: Netherworld Archivist
Wages: §63 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
You thought that death would finally bring and end to the bureaucracy? Wrong! Trust me, after you pass over to the other side, the bureaucracy continues. And to be honest, it's probably a lot WORSE. The Reapers Agency has to process over a hundred and fifty thousand Death Certificates every single day, and this frankly immense amount of paperwork is handled by the Archivists division. Death-related Admin offices span the length and breadth of the Reapers Agency, making sure that each death and subsequent soul harvest is accompanied by a frankly ludicrous amount of paperwork. After all, you wouldn't want to see the wrong soul being harvested, would you? Its such a massive PR disaster that it makes the time spent filling out those D22 and Morbidity forms worthwhile in the long run. You've taken a position in one of the dingy, poorly-lit basement offices, filling out Death Certification forms and processing any new arrivals to the Land of the Dead. Truly RIVETING stuff, I know.
Level 4: Netherworld Guide
Wages: §40 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
When the dead finally reach the Netherworld, they can often be quite scared and confused. Many are often angry or filled with regrets, and nothing can soothe those woes better than a handy guide. Once a soul is deposited in the Netherworld from the Well of Souls, a friendly (or at least moderately polite) Guide is assigned to them to help them find their feet and locate where they need to go. Guides are an oft-overlooked aspect of the Netherworld staff but without people like you, the Netherworld would be a chaotic, frenzied place (Which it sometimes is anyways, but containment breaches DO happen).
Level 5: Assistant Reaper
Wages: §117 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
You've shown great promise in guiding the souls of the dead around the Netherworld, so now you've been assigned to assist a qualified Reaper as their Apprentice. Although you cannot wield a Death Scythe just yet nor can you harvest souls, you are learning the tips of the trade from an experienced Reaper, as you go on expeditions in both the world of the living and the world of the dead. It must be said that Assistant Reapers can have awfully high mortality rates due to their lack of experience coupled with all manner of angry Supernatural phenomena, but on the plus side, if you die there will be an experienced Reaper right there to help you along. Of course, if you are already dead then this needn't be an issue.
Level 6: Soul Harvester
Wages: §138 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
You have passed the initiation trails and have been presented with the two symbols of being a qualified Reaper; A Death Scythe and the black robes seen on Grim himself. Your Scythe is your main tool in harvesting the souls of the damned, and your main defence in fighting off the many dangers that you may encounter in the Netherworld. Demons, Vampires, Witches, Werewolves and even angry Shades may not take so easily to the idea that its their time, and oftentimes this may mean that you have to resort to more... forceful means of soul collection. Additionally, you've probably noticed a lot of the Reapers practicing Chess during their free time in the Netherworld. That isn't for recreation; When a Reaper is challenged to a game of Chess by a soul, they are OBLIGATED to face that soul in a chess match. It's part tradition, but mainly due to a lot of beaurocratic red tape and fairness procedures. Since the higher-ups don't want too many souls escaping from harvesting, you will need to brush up on Chess
Level 7: Senior Reaper
Wages: §163 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
Reapers that accrue the most experience in this job are known as Senior Reapers. Adept with both a Death Scythe and a chess piece to take down any unwanted challenges, Reapers must be capable of equal parts empathy and detachment. You want to be able to convince the more aggressive spirits that it is time to give up the ghost (again, pun intended) and move along peacefully, but at the same time you need to be able to reap the spirits of those that are unwilling to move on, or worse, cannot comprehend what is happening. Being able to reap a young Sim is not an easy task and many Reaper will simply not take on these jobs. However in order to advance to Senior Reaper status, an operative must be willing to take on all tasks, including reaping the souls of those for whom death comes on in a much more unfair and brutal fashion. You have seen awful scenes in your job, but it only gets harder from here. Still dont want to hang up your scythe and cloak? Get ready to detach your emotions and keep reaping.
Level 8: Psychopomp
Wages: §193 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 10PM to 3AM
Known as those who help guide souls from the land of the living to the land of the dead, Psychopomps work as much more advanced versions of Netherworld Guides. Actually getting from the land of the living to the Netherworld is not a straightforward task, and as a Psychopomp it is your job to defend the souls of the dead as they transition between the worlds, from soul-eating Demons and hungry Shades. It is a role that gets a lot less praise than it probably should, since its easy to forget Psychopomps as they spend a lot of their time transversing between worlds in places like the River Styx, but the souls that you protect thank you enough that it feels worthwhile. Or maybe they're just thanking you in some macabre replication of thanking the bus driver.
Level 9: Shinigami
Wages: §284 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 10PM to 3AM
Borrowing from the Japanese term for Angel of Death, Shinigami-ranked Reapers are allowed to wield their own custom-made Death Scythes and have more freedom in choosing missions. You also use your own personal Death Note to reap souls, but sometimes you need to personally attend the scene of a death and add that more...personal touch. The most legendary Shinigami have served in the role for what seems like eons, and have kept the souls flowing into the Netherworld in a process that runs like clockwork.
Level 10: Angel of Death
Wages: §463 per hour - Work Days: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - Work Hours: 9AM to 1PM
For those who reach the top of the Reaping heirarchy there is an almost legendary status. The kind of status that is reserved for individuals like the Grim Reaper himself. Other Reapers admire you as a symbol of equal parts strength and compassion, a stalwart member of the Netherworlds organisation that knows the power of having a good death and the potential of stopping a bad one. This position takes its toll on most of its members, but for those few who can transcend the barriers between life and death there is a serenity that cannot be explained by those that have not felt it. And when it comes to your time to pass on from this world, you know that the Reaper that takes your soul will guide you to your final home as equals.
The career has ten levels, does not branch and has its own uniforms and opportunities. Note that the career was only written in English so will not work in other languages. If you want to request it to work in another language please let me know.

Install Instructions
1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.
For Package files:
1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).
For Sims3Pack files:
1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.
