The only time a sim will ever gain weight is if they eat when they're not hungry, or sneak a few too many snow cones at the park. This mod makes it so specific foods will make them gain weight gradually, and some foods can even help with weight loss.

Mod Info

• This mod was built and tested with game version 1.69, but should work with v.1.67 as well.
• What type of mod is this? - This a script mod that makes the food your sims eat affect their weight and appetite depending on the calorie category it's been assigned to.
• Where does the mod go? - This mod can go in your packages folder, but the optional weight decay modifier file should go into overrides.
• Translations - No new text has been added from this mod.

Calorie System

This mod integrates a sort of "calorie system", which categorizes most foods within the game into 3 different calorie types: Low calorie, medium calorie and high calorie. Additionally, specific high calorie foods such as cakes, hot dogs and fair food are in a non filling subcategory, making sims hungry again sooner after eating them.

Sims will naturally lose ~20% of any additional weight per day in a vanilla game, but with the provided weight decay modifier file it has been decreased to ~10% to simulate a more gradual weight gain/loss. This will vary though depending on the sim's age, genetics, lifestyle and what they eat now, so the percentages/statements below are just averages.

Low Calorie Foods: If eaten everyday a sim can easily maintain their natural weight and lose any additional weight over time. It will not make them underweight.

Medium Calorie Foods: If only eaten everyday it will contribute a little bit to a sim's weight over a long period of time. On average a sim will become ~0-3% heavier within 2 sim weeks if they eat 2 medium calorie meals a day.

High Calorie Foods: If only eaten everyday it will contribute a lot to a sim's weight over time, and even more so if they eat non filling high calorie foods often. On average a sim will become ~30% heavier within 2 sim weeks if they eat 2 high calorie meals a day. If they eat 3 high calorie non filling meals a day then they will become completely fat by around 12 sim days.

Foods/recipes/morsels that aren't listed in any of the categories won't have an effect on the sim.

Notes

- Children and teens take longer to gain weight than older sims and are mostly unaffected by medium calorie foods.

- Middle aged adults will gain more weight from eating medium-high calorie foods than other ages.

- After a sim eats a non filling high calorie meal, their hunger will drop down a bit after a couple hours, so it's not immediate.

- In a vanilla game sims will normally only eat 2 meals a day, which is what the settings in the mod are catered to, so if you've modified the hunger bar to go down quicker or slower you will need to re-adjust the settings accordingly.

- If a sim doesn't eat a whole meal (meaning they stop half way through or the food goes bad) their weight won't be affected by it.

- This mod is fully customizable, so you can use NRaas Retuner or S3PE to change whichever values you want. However, you won't be able to add custom or swap existing recipes to a calorie category unless you use S3PE.

Files

TSS_FoodAffectsWeight Main file needed for this mod to work.

TSS_FoodAffectsWeight_WeightDecayModifier Optional file that decreases the time it takes for a sim to lose or gain weight naturally. If you know how to use NRaas Retuner to change values within the game and want to avoid conflicts this file is not needed. It changes the kWeightBodyShapeDecay field in CAS -> SimDescription from 10 to 20.

Conflicts & Known Issues

- This is a pure script mod, so conflicts are highly unlikely. The optional weight decay modifier file will conflict with any other mod that affects the SimDescription_0x2f781fbc26bb4d8a XML.

- No known issues were found!
