This is a set of living room furniture with an Ancient Egyptian theme. The original object I made was the chair, which was based on a photo of a chair found in the tomb of Queen Hetepheres (the mother of Pharaoh Khufu, whom the Great Pyramid was built for).
This set includes the chair, a second version with cushions, a loveseat, sofa, coffee table, and endtable. I made this with the help of the Repository technique tutorial by JWoods (muchos gracias); the sofa is the repository object in this set.
The other seating items were cloned from the Merrokan loveseat and similar items. They have their own GUIDs, so there won't be a conflict. My items have roughly the same number of faces and vertices as the originals. The wood frame meshes and the textures for the cushions are all my original work. The coffee table and endtable are on the same theme, although as far as I know, the ancient Egyptians didn't use tables like we do.
They are recolorable and work with University; they should also work with just TS2. I don't have the new EP, so I can't test.
I'm considering doing sets for different rooms on this same theme if people are interested.
To use, just extract to your EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads folder.
Update 2005-09-22 -- I created a new archive with only the sofa and coffee table in it. I fixed the conflicting GUIDs.
