La Menace (1961) French with English subs - 7/10

Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989) - 5/10
Grossly exaggerated account of life on the low end of the social spectrum in 1950's Brooklyn. Non-stop violence, typical of many German movies. Surprisingly, the music is by Mark Knopfler. |

Bringing Out The Dead (1999) - 0/10

Blue Sunshine (1977) - 1/10
A bizarre series of murders begins in Los Angeles, where people start going bald and then become homicidal maniacs. But could the blame rest on a particularly dangerous form of LSD called Blue Sunshine the murderers took ten years before? Badly overacted drivel, with possibly the ugliest leading actor I've ever seen in a movie. I'm not saying the guy has a big nose, but it's there two minutes early wherever he goes. |
The Legend of the Boy and the Eagle (1967) - 10/10
Nice wholesome children's story. |
Dirty Harry (1971) - 8/10
When a madman calling himself "the Scorpio Killer" menaces the city, tough-as-nails San Francisco Police Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan is assigned to track down and ferret out the crazed psychopath. Never watched it until now. |
Goodnight Mommy (2014) German language with English subs - 8/10

The Blockhouse (1973) - 2/10
During wartime, a group of men are trapped in a bunker after the entrance collapses during a bombardment. Supposedly based on a true story, but it's "bunk". Bad sound. |
Flightplan (2005) - 1/10
A bereaved woman and her daughter are flying home from Berlin to America. At 30,000 feet, the child vanishes, and nobody will admit she was ever on the plane. An unlikely, irritatingly asinine story. |
Zuckerbaby (aka, Sugar Baby) (1985) German with English subs - 2/10
An asocial, obese German woman lives in a large city. Unfortunately despite her kind and intelligent personality, she has had a lot of trouble making a connection with people, until she gets a crush on a handsome subway conductor. Depressing and pointless. |
Jennifer 8 (1992) - 7/10

Taste of Fear (aka, Scream of Fear) (1961) - 7/10

Side Effects (2013) - 7/10
A young woman's world unravels when a drug prescribed by her psychiatrist has unexpected side effects. Kinda complicated, and although I caught the gist well enough, I had to read the plot description on Wikipedia to fill in some details. |
Memoir of a Murderer (director's cut) (2017) Korean with English subs - 5/10
A former serial killer with Alzheimer's fights to protect his daughter from her psychotic boyfriend. Increasingly confusing throughout and very confusing ending, even after reading the plot summary on Wikipedia. |
Citizen X (TV movie, 1995) - 10/10
During the 1980's, Soviet authorities hunt for a serial killer who picks his victims in railway stations and commuter trains and lures them into the woods. Based on the true story of serial killer Andrei Chikatilo. One of the better movies I've watched in quite some time. |
