Wishing there was an app so I can put an auto play music player on my FB page. It's a bummer. :/

Oh, and I am having a cinnamon filled cup of coffee, it tastes sandy but it's 'ight.

cupcake12winx 9th May 2012 10:40 PM

The books my mom and I ordered came! Ever heard of The Giver? I hadn't, but my mom read the first one right after it came out in 1993. She knew there was a sequel, but she didn't know there were two, so we went ahead and ordered the trilogy box set. They're so much smaller than I expected, but oh well.

Time to read!

cupcake12winx 10th May 2012 9:31 PM

Have a house showing to go to at 1:30. We didn't get the last house because they wouldn't take our dogs. Something about the carpet. Then we looked at another on a different end of town, now we're going to look at this one which is in the same neighborhood as the last perfect house. Confusing? Yes.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do: read my new books or play Sims. My rabbit-millionaire Sims are having their eighth child, but this book is really good. Decisions, decisions...

Just got back from the showing. Loved the house. The owners just have to approve our dogs then we'll most likely get it! It's a first-come, first-serve thing, and we're the first ones since the last person backed out.

Girls, pray for us, please. We need this house.

My rabbit-millionaires are now having their ninth (and hopefully tenth and eleventh, too..) child(ren). There's a reason I call them rabbits. And a reason I call them millionaires - 1.3 mil and counting, all earned.

I'm waiting for dinner to cook and about to get back to work on the rabbits. I want to see how much money they can accumulate before the husband dies.

Oh, and my mom saw the house. Everyone loves it. Eeeeeeee.

I know I've always said I think e-readers are stupid (maybe not on Mod, but I do), but...

I want a Nook so bad. Now that I've used one for a day, it's grown on me immensely. My plan is to own a Nook, buy/read books on it, but still collect physical books. Because I still want my big home library, but I just love the Nook so much that I want one, too.

I'm kind of sharing, I guess, my mom's with her (that is, she's letting me read a book on it) for now, but I really want one of my own. Maybe it's just the coolness of the new toy talking, who knows, but that's how I feel right now. It's just, it would be so, so nice for traveling to be able to take nearly all of my library with me, then have physical books to come home to and stare at. I know this'll take probably twice as much money (not to mention the cost of the Nook itself) to keep up my collection, but I'm okay with that.

Now I have a question for you girls, if you've read this far. Which should I ask for for my birthday - a book shopping trip or a Nook? Thank you for reading this ramble.

I've been thinking about this post of yours, and now that my Dad decided to bring home a Kindle Touch for me this afternoon (complete surprise!) I really should (and do now) recommend owning one. I was stealing my Dad's Kindle previously, and this new Touch is even easier for me to read I've found. Plus it's that much easier to carry around with you when you're travelling.

Also, the books are marvellously cheap. I would much, much rather pay $5.50 for a 600 page book than fork out $50 in a book shop here. You get access to a much larger range of titles this way too.

Just thought I should write this before I fall asleep. I've just put a dozen titles on to my new 'book' so I now have plenty to read in Sydney and on the flight from there to London in 11 days, and only have to worry about it weighing about 200 grams. Night ladies =^)

$50? Sheesh, the most expensive non-collectible book I've seen was a 4-in-1 phonebook-sized thing of manga for $30 at Barnes & Noble yesterday. Then again there are currency differences. But you're right, Kindle and Nook books are cheaper than a hardback book, usually.

I plan on getting a Nook tablet just because it supports B&N, and because I've secretly always wanted a tablet. I've decided I'm going to buy it with my own money, because $250 (for the 16GB model) is way too much even for a Christmas present.

Have fun with your Kindle!

Geah 24th May 2012 1:16 AM

Books are rather expensive here, as you may have guessed, lol. Hardback books are usually closer to the $60-70 range. So $5-10 a book is greatly preferable. The only real downside (which won't actually affect you) is that where we live, we are barred from purchasing e-books online from certain American & European publishers. They claim copyright reasons, but all they're doing is lowering their sales and driving the customers to look for free alternatives elsewhere.

Anyway, enjoy your Nook when you get one !

Now I'm off to get ready for a long day at work, all the while fighting to not come down with a cold. I don't need this right before I leave!

cupcake12winx 24th May 2012 4:04 AM

I hate Bridgeport, the Late Night city. Why? Because it has precious few gem spawners. My gem collectors are forced to downgrade to Sunset Valley, and I can't have a perfect, mastered-every-skill Sim in Bridgeport because its gem selection is teeny.

Okay, I don't necessarily hate it (I adore it and its views) but this just pisses me off.

Actually, can anyone confirm that you can get every non-vacation destination gem in Bridgeport? Because if anyone can, I'll try a gem collector there. If not, I'm not bothering.

My cat's sleeping and I'm just staring at him. His paw is held out in a way that screams, "Kiss the paw."

He's adorable, but I'm still convinced that he's going to take over the world and have dogs and humans as his slaves. Don't question his powers.

cupcake12winx 27th May 2012 10:21 PM

Is it weird that my entire wardrobe, not counting undergarments, consists entirely of gray t-shirts and jeans? That's seriously all I wear. I've been wearing the same stuff for well over 3 years.

I'm not ashamed of how I look. To be perfectly honest, I don't give two craps about how I look, as long as I don't look terrible. It just seems like after grade school, I stopped caring about my clothes. Which is probably weird because most girls start caring more about how they look as they become teenagers. I just don't think it's worth my time trying to put together outfits (I have no sense of style, if you hadn't guessed) or worth my money buying expensive clothes when I could be buying books (and I'm a giant nerd).

I guess it's just another rule of society that I've never followed. Ramble over.

Geah 28th May 2012 1:22 PM

Je suis heureux =) I bought a French language skills CD so I can actually put sentences together when I speak the language. I can generally read it all right but at the moment sentences are beyond me I can pick words up easily in other languages though so hopefully I'll be on my way to speaking French properly before long :D

So, park day was today at my mom's school. Good god, I've never seen so many screaming kids in one place. Strangely, but luckily, the only time I got freaked out was on the bus to the park. Figures.

I cannot wait until Friday. Why? Not because it's the end of the second-to-last week of school, oh no. Because it's the day we officially rent the house! I wanted to say own, but we don't, so. It's also the day we can start moving stuff over, which means MY BOOKS CAN COME OUT OF THEIR BOXES!! My poor books, all cooped up in the boxes.. I know they desperately want out, and I can't wait to unpack them, even though they'll have no shelves to go on.

Can you tell that I'm loopy with exhaustion? Yeah. I can. Gnight.

lethifold 30th May 2012 7:01 AM

Doing a last bit of research on the Kindle Touch. I'm pretty certain I'm going to buy one tonight but I just want to make sure I'm going to be happy with it before I go off and spend $160.

Geah 30th May 2012 10:52 AM

^ It is soooooo easy to read, and feels much nicer to hold than the original Kindle. Good, long battery life and room for lots of books.

Just had dinner so now i'm blobbed in the arm chair before I go finish tidying my room at last.

Writing a small/might-be-deleted story based on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tktcOUi-x-A. The mutations in it just inspired me to write, so I did.

Probably done for now. Going to settle in to some Sims or anime now. Or actually, probably going to go to bed soon, seeing as I have to get up in 12 hours.

cupcake12winx 31st May 2012 11:19 PM

New day, and I really need to ramble a little somewhere.

I'm totally planning on cosplaying Lucy Heartfilia for Anime Expo 2013. I can't do it this year for a few reasons. One, I'm not the right size. Two, we can't afford to go. And three, I'll be the right age next year. My parents are great at sewing, and my mom's made Halloween costumes for me before, so I'm sure they can make my outfit, instead of buying one for $100+. Another reason I really want to is because of the keys she uses. I have 3, the rest are cheap to buy, so if I get a whip I can totally do it right.

Nerdy? Totally. Silly? Hell no. I've (sort of) always wanted to be a cosplayer, and this is the first opportunity I have to do it, so I'm going to take it.

Ramble over.

Filling out application forms and feeling wildly inadequate.

Edit: 'Please give details of any hobbies and interests'... I deeply resent having to provide that information, mostly because I seem to lack any interests that actually sound, well, interesting, but also because it's largely irrelevant to the job. Let's face it, I'm not going to be hanging out with these people in my spare time.

cupcake12winx 1st Jun 2012 10:01 PM

New day, new projects. Today we're insulating the new house's garage door and moving my books and my two small bookcases over.

This would be tons more fun if it wasn't 103 degrees out. Bleh.

EDIT: Okay, door didn't get insulated, but that's on the agenda for tomorrow. Got 3 boxes of books over, though.

Also, we're having pizza for dinner. Yummmmmyyy.

Dreamydre 11th Jun 2012 11:15 PM

cupcake12winx 12th Jun 2012 8:59 AM

So the tattoo thing didn't quite work. Phooey. We have other methods in mind, though.

Right now I'm listening to Linkin Park and probably about to go to bed. Tomorrow I need to start finishing packing my room. I also need to do some US History homework, some Rosetta Stone, some translating, some reading...

Damn moving, I HAVE NO TIME TO DO ANYTHING ELSE. I'll be glad when all this crap is over. And I have to start like 3 other subjects for summer school this week, too. I'm so glad I'm getting a 3-week break between bouts of summer school, because I'll need to get caught up on what I can't do this week because of moving.

Did any of that make the slightest bit of sense? Probably not. Goodnight.

lethifold 12th Jun 2012 9:25 AM

Drinking a latte, listening to some tunes on Youtube and being generally bored.

Just got back from setting up internet and cable at the new house.

HOLY CRAP I've never seen such fast internet. A 7:25 Youtube video on 720p loaded in 22 seconds.

I'M SO AMAZED.

And it's my birthday and shit. :D

My birthday dinner won't be ready till almost 9...

Oh well. It'll be delicious, so I don't care.

Also, I'm listening to a really upbeat song. I don't think it'd be possible to feel down with this song. I'm just so happy today anyways :D
