This is a 90 minute movie that was made in the 90's to serve as a warning against the true satanic evils of Dungeons and Dragons. It's about this guy who meets a girl who plays Mazes and Monsters and this other guy who calls him Frileg at the end of the movie. And that guy is role playing a holy man and his actor is Tom Hanks before he was famous. I think he might be ashamed of being in this movie.

Thumbs up and thumbs down at the same time.

I know what I'll be watching tonight. It sounds hilariously bad (at least from reading snid-bits of the plot online/your summary).

Edit/Update: Yeah... it's pretty terribad.

Literally JUST got done watching Identity Thief. Overall, I would say it's good (6/10). It has a little bit of a lesson while staying light. It has some decent action parts too. It made me laugh, and in general I would say it is worth watching but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Unless you're really into the type of humor that's kind of icky and makes you feel uncomfortable...

Without Men (2011) - 4/10
It started off good but as the movie went on it got worse, it is not worth watching and I kind of wish never watched it.

Cosa Bella (2006) - 2/10
Was a bad movie, it did not make sense and it had a rubbish storyline.

Warm Bodies (2013) - 7/10
Was a cute, good and funny movie. It was hyped up so I thought it was better but other all it was still a good movie but not a movie I would watch again.

My review on Epic:

I only saw this movie because the air-conditioning in my apartment wasn’t working and it was too hot. I hated it; it felt too generic, especially the plot (a teenage girl [who's an idiot] gets trapped in a world she thought wasn’t real. I thought this only existed in crappy fanfiction but apparently I was wrong). This movie lacked, well, “epicness” (WOW, NICE TITLE FILMMAKERS, IT *REALLY* FIT WELL WITH THIS DAMN MOVIE); characterization (the snail and the slug appear to be hilarious and a big part of the movie as you see in the trailer when they’re not); interest (kids seem to like it though); plot (as I said before); and overall, the key to making a great film. I have to agree with the critics; it really did suck. I’d give it a 1.5 out of 10 to be honest with you :/

Don't remember the movie I watched few days ago

VerDeTerre 25th Jun 2013 11:19 AM

@ Mordecai and Rigby - I did hear mixed reviews of Epic which seems a shame since it looked so cute from the previews. Of course, it is a kid's film and it's hard to listen to critics who expect kid's films to be something more or something different from what they are intended to be.

Kick-Ass (2010) - 6/10
It was better then i thought it would be, it was funny and had a great story-line.

The Host (2013) - 3/10
I got told that this was a great movie and I was very disappointed, it turned out to be very boring; it was just a love story with a twist and the twist was not even that exciting. It just dragged on there was no need for it to be so long.

Jack The Giant Slayer (2013) - 4/10
It was an ok movie but went on for to long, it was not very exciting very plain movie.

Rapture-Palooza (2013) - 8/10
It was such a great movie, it was so funny and unlike any movie I have seen before. I would reccomand watching because it is so worth it

Mud 10/10

Now you see me 6/10

Magic And Pancakes 30th Jun 2013 5:48 AM

I watched Seven (or Se7ven, if you prefer) for the first time in years. It was still as good as I remembered it. It's dark, gritty, disturbing and doesn't have over-the-top gore. It's everything a thriller should be. Kevin Spacey's performance alone warrants a 10/10 rating from me.

RoseCity 30th Jun 2013 7:58 AM

World War Z - 2013 - Zombies - 6/10
I realized long ago I'm probably not going to be seeing a good movie at the local multiplex. So with that knowledge as the starting point, World War Z was a not unenjoyable summer film. You might as well check the expectation that any of it will actually make sense at the door. I just wish they hadn't made the zombies so over the top because then they stop being scary and start being comical. But if nothing else, you'll have a good laugh and that's worth something, I guess.

Shoosh Malooka 30th Jun 2013 8:27 AM

Se7en deserves a 7 out of 10. It has great actors whose performances are entertaining to watch. But the plot is somewhat of a dud with low payoff to the suspense. It's just good enough to somewhat buy into but not fantastic. The killer's plan isn't really as awesome as he thinks it is, and I don't see how society will be deeply baffled and soil itself over the damage his actions deal to mankind, as in hardly any. And how in the hell does someone arrange beforehand for UPS to deliver something to the middle of nowhere? Several times the movie tries too hard. Does Se7en reach up there with, say, Silence of the Lambs? No.

Project X 10/10 5/5 Both Thumbs up (It reminds me of parties I've been with friend's.)

HEAVEN-SENT 30th Jun 2013 4:24 PM

Road Trip (2000) - 4/10
This film had some funny moments but it was more aimed towards men because their was loads of nudes and all about intercourse.

A Marine Story (2010) - 7/10
Very touching story and brings to light so many things.

Spring Breakers (2012) - 2/10
There was so much hype about the movie and I dont see why because it was rubbish. This film was more aimed towards men and i wish they made it for everyone because then it would have been better.

Never Let Me Go (2010) - 8/10
I love this film it was so good, it nearly made me cry and it had a great message.

Artimis 8th Jul 2013 11:29 AM

Mass effect: Paragon lost 5/10 love the game series but this film is just okay.

VerDeTerre 8th Jul 2013 3:41 PM

The Cabin in the Woods - 4/10 I liked the Whedon influence and it would have rocked if it had been all his. Too much gore in this to enjoy the theme.

The Avengers - 9.8/10 I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Most of the time, I'm somewhat turned off by too much adventure in a film, but this was well done and fun throughout. Well done, Joss!

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - 9.8/10 As a huge fan of Once More With Feeling, I had to check this out. It delivered. It's a short sweet gem of a story told in enjoyable songs. Not sure if I'd sing along with it...well, maybe. I love seeing the actor who played the bad guy in yet another variation of character. I love that Joss uses so many of the same performers again and again.

Looking forward to seeing Dreamwork's latest film, Turbo in a little more than a week. I'm not overly interested in the Indy 500, but the characters shown in the previews look fun and I think it will be cute.

^^ #1 and #3 up there are some of my favorite movies-- I freakin love the third act of Cabin in the Woods. (tbh, I tend to tune out the first two except for important plot points) I know it's a parody of cheesy horror movies, but it's still kinda meh. I'd love to see it from the Japanese schoolgirl's perspective though (only shown for a minute defeating their ghosty boo with song on a monitor)

I saw Sympathy for Lady Vengeance by Park Chan-wook. I am in love with this man's directing style- "I'm a Cyborg but that's Okay" is probably the only romance movie I not only like BUT FUCKING LOVE. I'm kinda glad I understand English, (and can see that the "Australian" girl has a very thick Korean/American accent) because it broke the tension once or twice. This movie is amazing, but it's really hard to watch at times, this coming from someone who has no problems with simulated blood, gore, guro, or anything like that. I had to pause it to take a breath when they found and started watching the videos under the desk.

fucking.. a lot out of 10. It's really amazing but. fuck.

The Lone Ranger: 7,5/10

There's been some bad critics towards this movie, but I simply LOVED it! I think it was both exciting and a great action movie. It was a very typical adventure movie in some ways, but I like that Especially when it comes to Disney! There's simply a way that every Disney movie should be built

That was one of the best parts! You're right - it would be fun to see it from their perspective. That part especially seemed Whedonesque. I also liked the ending where the characters just rebel against what the audience expects of them. Well played, Joss!

Despicable Me 2 -- Wasn't as good as the first but still worth the watch 4/5

HEAVEN-SENT 13th Jul 2013 7:18 PM

A Serbian Film (2010) - 1/10
It was not as good as it was meant to be, it was very boring. The idea of the film was good but the way they approached it was not. A twisted film that was not that twisted.

Excision (2012) - 7/10
I love this film it was twisted and have very fresh idea's never seen a horror movie like it before.

Basket Case (1982) - 6/10
First watched this when I was 4 years old and love it,so decided to watch it again now and still loved it.

Little Shop of Horrors (1986) - 5/10
Watch it for the first time in a whole and it was good and had some good songs. The woman's voice and a couple of other things let this film down but i still enjoyed it.

wilksfamily 13th Jul 2013 7:21 PM

Jurassic park, hmm it's gory and pretty scary but I love it, then again it's been on so much i'm starting to get bored of it so I guess 8/10.

DeLoure 13th Jul 2013 11:12 PM

Identity Thief (2013) - 2/5
It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be.

@Heaven Sent: I saw A Serbian Film awhile back. Was it as twisted and fucked up as everyone claims? Not really. Then again, I have a habit of watching movies like that so I'm probably desensitized. For instance, I enjoyed The Human Centipede movies. Did you see the Uncut version?

VerDeTerre 21st Jul 2013 6:11 AM

Turbo - 7/10 - Turbo was beautifully animated, has some good characterizations and funny lines, and it's very clear that the people who made it had fun with it. Points lowered because it is clearly a child's movie. There is nothing wrong with that, of course, it just means that it was not as entertaining to an adult as many other films have been. Nor is there any deeper or more emotional theme as there was in The Croods. Just the same, it was fun and cute. I'd take kids to see it if I had little kids at home. There were some pretty amazing scenes from the snails' viewpoint, too.

Much Ado About Nothing (Whedon Version) 13/10 This just rocked. It was enjoyable on so many levels. The performers read Shakespeare's lines perfectly, bringing it beautifully and humorously to life. It was immediate! I loved the camera angles, the artsy shots, the flow of the film, the music, the costumes, and the use of Joss's home as the set. I loved seeing so many familiar performers from other Whedon works. Seriously, it rocked.

@DeLoure -- I watches A Serbian Film with my friends and they where all freaked out and I was just sitting there. No it was not as twisted as everyone claimed,i did not find it twisted because I have been watching horror and that kind of films since I was 4 years old.Yeah I saw The Human Centipede and number 2 and I laughed at some of the bits in number 1 and 2.yeah I saw the uncut version.

D.E.B.S. (2004) - 7/10
I love this movie has to be one of my top 10's.Love the action and comdy

RoseCity 23rd Jul 2013 4:20 AM

The Conjuring - 2013 - Horror/Scary - 8/10
It has a better than usual cast for a horror movie - Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor. But I guess work must be scarce.
It scared the bejesus out of me.
