There will be spoilers in this thread regarding Game of Thrones and The Last of Us!

Why did the public react differently to the deaths of Robb and Catelyn in GOT than how it reacted to Joel's death in TLOU? All three of them were main characters whose actors had plenty of charisma. Could it be that the message in TLOU is so twisted and that the viewers just wanted Joel and Ellie to be happy? But, what about Robb and Catelyn? A lot of people rooted for them as well. Did the audience grew tired of seeing their favourite characters die in such brutal ways or is it something else?

Do not get me wrong. Joel is a person with a lot of personal trauma, but that does not explain his actions towards other people. He killed a lot of people. He did what he did because he saw Ellie as his adopted daughter. Robb and Catelyn started a war because of love primarily. But, did they have a choice (just like Joel)? I will leave the answer to you because this is a matter of opinion on how message in the media should be potrayed.

Can we say that Abby was wrong? She lost everything because of Joel (he killed her father and a lot of other Fireflies). The second season of TLOU is about a cycle of revenge which probably means that both Abby and Ellie were right?

So, what do you all think? A lot of people hate TLOU season 2, but not a lot of people hate GOT season 3.
