I was curious if it was possible to have your sim wear a custom towel mesh instead of the default Maxis one by linking it to a custom body type/skintone, the sim is using? Also I hope it would work with mods such as Simler90's Towel Mod, which I am personally using in my game rn.

Also I'm quite new to Sims 2 modding, so I do not have that much of an experience with all the tools. But I am a quick learner! :D

Normally you wouldn't link an outfit to the skintone (you're probably thinking of showerproof skintones, not clothes - only the skin itself needs to be linked for when the sim is naked, such as in the shower, while the rest are just clothes with bodyshapes).

I don't know if you can link spesific bodyshapes together with for instance a towel mod. The only (easy) way I can see around this would be if the mod uses the underwear outfit as the towel, so you can set a custom towel for that category, and whenever the sim steps out of a shower/bathtub, they change into undies (=towel in correct bodyshape).


Other than that, it should be possible to change the an outfit if it's included with a mod, or change which outfit it's linked to - but the outfits are going to be for all sims, not for spesific bodyshapes (don't know if it's completely impossible, but probably not easy to set up, and not easily customizable).

I don't know if Simler90's mod actually has a towel included - looks like the files only has BHAVs so I'm assuming it uses the BV towels. You can likely use a default replacement alongside it (either find one you like, or make one).

Thank you! I feel like my best option is to set sims to use their underwear when in towel state. Do you know any tutorials on how and where exactly can I change it? I assume for Simler90's mod I need to edit the mod package and for sauna, edit the object? Not sure about this.

I have no idea how to set it up with Simler's mod (BHAV editing on that level is unfortunately not my thing), but maybe someone else can help?
