@HarVee and @Charity : I'll PM you both once they're setted in in Channelwood Verona (simsample's 'hood).

As for giving them more clothes to wear, I think I have to accept that it may be necessary. . .

. . . right from the start, I've always thought of Andrew, Gloria et al, as if they were real people. Julian has this thing about not liking textiles touching his skin. At heart I think he's really a naturist. Now I recall shopping at a shopping centre (what the Americans would call a mall) near my home, quite soon after starting to play (it was probably the winter of 2012-13), and I started fantasising about meeting Andrew and Julian there. Now Scottish winters, especially near the coast, aren't nearly as bad as some people in England say. I mean they're not like winter in the Dakotas. But the truth is that most of the time the temperature is under 10 degrees Centigrade / 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and that's far too cold to dress the way that Julian likes to dress. So the first thing I'd have to do, if I met them, would be to take Julian into a clothes shop, and buy him some sort of coat or jacket. And, if it was a cold night, with maybe a touch of frost, I might have to get something warmer for Andrew too. So, if it's cold in your neighbourhood, by all means get them to wear something a little warmer. I'd do the same if they came to visit me in Scotland in winter. Julian might take a bit of persuading, but, if he's really cold, I'm sure he'll see sense. He's not stupid.

Not counting outerwear, which Julian will have to rug up for, these are some of my teen shorts/shirt/jeans options. Also, some PJs and underwear. And one skirt, that I have no idea what I got it for. XD

MTS teen downloads seem to be 99% jeans or long skater boy type shorts.

Where did you get that skirt??!! I think I could nearly persuade Julian to wear that! Or else I think he'd like to come to your 'hood to meet the boy who does wear it! Strangely enough a couple of hours earlier, when browsing on temu for clothes for myself, I stumbled across this t-shirt:

If you could put that slogan onto your black crop top, it might be the ideal top to go with that skirt.

There are a few other versions of that t-shirt on temu and esewhere, but the other ones end of the slogan with
"AND YES, I DON'T CARE
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT".
But I don't think that's really grammatical -- the word "DO" is superfluous -- it makes it look like a question. And Julian, being a pedant, would never be happy wearing something ungrammatical. (I reckon you must be bit of a pedant to win a city-wide spelling bee!)

Yes, I suppose there aren't all that many boys in the Sim world, who want to dress like Andrew a his friends. Still, your "stubbies" have made things better than the were when I first came here. Still, if you're happy to take Andrew and Julian, they will come with a good selection of their clothes. Maybe not all of Andrew's -- over the years he really has bought a lot of clothes -- though I think even he would admit that many of the clothes he's bought are barely there.

Skirt is from here. https://skulldilocks.tumblr.com/pos...ime-again-check

I have quite a few crossdressing clothes from Azaya.

Tell Julian that he's right. The second shirt slogan looks like it's contradicting itself. I don't care what you think about it, but um what do you think about it? XD

After seeing the lack of shorter shorts around I think I might make a shoeswap for my stubbies and make a sneaker version. Might untuck them as well.

Edit: Hmm, not too bad IMO.

The main sources of short shorts for my teenboys are:
(1) Simphany.com pages 1, 2, 4 and 5. Pages 1 and 2 have denim shorts with sandals; pages 4 and 5 have shiny shorts -- I'm not sure what material they're made of. The mesh for all these shorts can be found here. These are the shorts that Andrew describes as "short enough to be sexy, long enough to be respectable". He usually wears either the black or the grey ones to school and to church, with a shirt and tie. In the picture he is wearing an orange (or yellow ochre?) pair along with his school shirt (by Maxis).
(2) The denim shorts from the Daum / Naver outfit that Jack Gill is wearing on the right of the picture. I can't give a link for these as I’ve been unable to find them online since soon after I downloaded the outfit in late 2012! The tiny shorts came in the full body outfit Jack is wearing, which also includes the t-shirt. In the years since I first downloaded it, I've created lots of variations of it, starting with a topless version for Julian, and going on, via topless versions with pink, yellow and light blue, with various footwear, and finishing with a separate version that can be worn with any top. When I send you my boys, I'll undoubtedly include some of these with them.
(3) Deedee's 4to2 shoe conversions of skittlessims‘s 4t2 SP10 ripped Shorts. These are for both adult and teen males; you can also get them for adult and teen females here. I have chosen to have my male shorts repo'd from the adult female ones. These shorts come in a wide choice of colours. Ravi Bertino, the third Sim in the picture above, is wearing a white pair.
(1) and (2) date from my early Simming days (2012-13). Deedee's (3) are comparatively recent arrivals in my game.

As you have no doubt noticed, Julian is in the picture too. He is wearing the skirt you linked to along with my "wearing skirts" recolour of your back crop top that I made today. I want to do a little more with that, but I'll send it to you @Charity , so (if you like) you can include it with your teenboy crop tops download here. Andrew's expression in this CAS picture is interesting. In all the time he's known him, he's never see Julian wearing so many clothes before!

I love how it's the excess clothing that fazes Andrew and not the skirt. XD The skirt is a separate, so if Julian does like it then he can wear it without a top.

The slogan fits surprisingly well, although if you want a bit more room to stretch it out then there are two necklines on those shirts and the one Ravi is wearing has a higher neckline.

I think I asked you where you got those ripped shorts when I saw them in a picture. I downloaded them too. XD

Jack's outfit is the only one I don't like. I'm not fond of clothes that are just painted onto the body. I like them to have some substance. And I admit that they're too low/short for my sensibilities lol.

Ironically, I had just poked around Simphany and the denim shorts that you mentioned are currently sitting in my Downloads waiting to be tested out.

One day, when I am a lot better at meshing than I am now, I'd like to make a mesh that matches the texture, and make them look a lot more 3-dimensional.
Especially when Julian's wearing these shorts, I'm sometimes a little surprised at him leaving them open at the front tike that. Truth is, although I noticed them unzipped when I first downloaded them, it didn't show up in game in all the years I was playing in low resolution. But now I'm playing in high definition, it's a bit more problematic. "Jack, would you mind doing your zip up?"

This was my first attempt using the higher neckline:
It looks too far to our left (Julian/s right)

So I moved it slightly, using the "V" of the neckline to centre it.

I think that looks much better, Charity, so I'll send you a link by PM. I only used Paint to make it, so you can no doubt make improvements.

@AndrewGloria Could you please share this outfit with me again? I think the texture carried over, but not the mesh- if you could possibly find the outfit again and send it to me, I could set it as Gloria's formal too.

Also- Re: outdoor outfits (that sims change into when they go outside in winter)
I want to decide which outfits Andrew, Gloria, Garry and Julian would wear when outside in the snow. I'm starting the second day of rotation in Channelwood Verona, and as the season began on Autumn, then it will change to winter when I next play the Jones family. As I haven't really had chance to get to know them that well in my game yet, I thought I'd check for some ideas as what they might like to wear in winter.

I can easily convert some outfits to show up as outdoor outfits, but of course, I need full body outfits (not seperates), so that rules out quite a bit of Julian and Andrew's wardrobes.
I've downloaded a whole shedful of stuff from other clothing categories- athletic, undies, PJs etc that have shorts on them, so I can recolour and convert as needed (or I could convert Maxis outfits). But what would they wear do you think?

There are ways to access separates for categories other than Everyday, if necessary.

Shorts in the snow do not look warm though lol. I thought that only Julian was allergic to textiles? Surely Veronaville sims in general don't have a law against wearing extra clothing. For that matter, surely every sim in Veronaville doesn't wear the exact same clothing. They must have different tastes?

I only have the Jones family (including Julian) so far- AndrewGloria is preparing the Moltkes for me too. The rest of the sims in this hood are no problem as they are sims I've made, Maxis sims and a few new ones- and they wear standard clothing (not as skimpy as Veronaville). Veronaville doesn't have seasons- but Channelwood Verona does, so I have no idea how AndrewGloria would dress Veronavillians in winter! Personally I agree with you and would have a little more fabric, but since I've never seen Garry, Julian and Andrew in anything longer then the thighs, I thought I'd see if anyone had ideas. I could convert these teen everyday outfits (and/or recolour them) for outerwear:

And FA and MA have some outfits that might be suitable too. But, I can't really see Andrew, Gloria, Julian or Garry wearing these outfits, can you?

There's Lazy Duchess' Separates For All, but it needs M&G.

But as long as a clothing item is set for a category you can buy it under that category. You just have to make sure that you have both a top and bottom for that category or they won't show up. https://modthesims.info/d/652979/sk...r-children.html

I don't think he's actually transgender, but he's sympathetic and supportive towards those that are. The bit of the slogan on that t-shirt that really resonated with Julian is the last bit: he wears the clothes he likes (usually very minimal) and he doesn't care what other people think about them. "If you don't like the way I dress, I reckon that's your problem, not mine". As for actually wearing a skirt, this is the first one he's tried on, and he says it's OK. "If I was going to wear a skirt regularly, I think I'd prefer a much shorter one, but I'm sure that won't surprise you! I really don't like the feel of textiles touching my skin, and I suppose from that point of view, a loose fitting skirt would be better than a pair of shorts the same length. So I might be persuaded to wear a little skirt quite regularly, but I'm still a boy, not a girl! "

What's more problematic for Julian than the skirt is the top -- he hardly ever wears one! But if he were ever to come to Scotland to visit me in any season other than high summer, or if, Heaver forfend, I was ever to get Seasons and have winter in Veronaville, he'd have to wear a top -- it's just too cold without one. And, as an intelligent and educated Knowledge Sim, Julian knows this. In fact he knows he'd also have to get hold of some sort of outerwear, to be able to go out in the coldest weather. So, if he ever does have to dress for colder weather, he thinks this could be quite a good outfit to wear.

Speaking for myself as AndrewGloria the Simmer rather than Julian the Sim, I don't think I'll buy the Real Life version of that top. I'm eccentric enough in my choice of clothes without drawing extra attention to it with a t-shirt slogan. In principle though, I suppose I really do occasionally wear a skirt, and I'm not at all embarrassed about it. The only skirt I've ever worn is the traditional Scottish male national costume -- the kilt. Now a lot of us don't like it being called a skirt, but basically that's what it is! When I lived in Germany I had to get used to it being called a Scottenrock, which translates as a "Scots skirt". For most the the past summer I've been wearing a shiny black faux leather shirt with a matching pair of short shorts. I even dressed that way to church on Sundays. No Real Life person complained about that, but Andrew gently suggested that I might really wear longer, more respectable shorts to church, like he usually does. However I sent Sim Sample a selfie of myself in that outfit, and he thoroughly approved of my choice.

Well, that's a nice long reply to a very short question . . .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@simsample , I've sent you Gloria's gloriously eccentric wedding dress in a short PM. I'm also starting a WCIF thread to ask if anyone knows knows where it came from, because I can't remember.

Re: The Jones family outerwear.

After much downloading, trying on and general faffing about with things, the Jones-Moltke-MacKay household has finally selected on some outerwear outfits, and are eagerly awaiting @AndrewGloria 's approval (or disapproval).

All comments and suggestions (helpful or otherwise ) from others would be appreciated too!

Very colourful, at least! What do you all think, do they suit the personalities of the wearers and bring a little of Veronaville's fashion style to ChannelwoodVerona? I'm very stylistically challenged (as I'm sure you all know) so am prepared for harsh criticism!

Default The Moltke Family coming soon to Channelwood Verona
You've clearly put a lot of thought into choosing (and I suspect making) those outfits, and I think they'll appreciate that -- even Julian. Andrew can actually be harder to please than Julian, but at least he doesn't have the aversion to textiles that Julian has. (Odd in a textiles town when you think about it!) If Andrew, Gloria, Garry and even Julian are happy with their winter outfits, I'm certainly not going to complain. After all, I'll have much the same problem if they ever do come and visit me in winter in Scotland. Snow is rare here nowadays, but I'm not going to pretend that it's warm enough to dress the way that Julian likes. British Summer Time officially ends here tonight, and I think I'm going to have to start wearing jeans instead of shorts myself. I've already changed from short shorts to knee-length denim ones.

For better or worse four more Sims from Veronaville should be arriving in Channelwood Verona in the next few days:

As you can see they don't wear a lot of clothes when they're at home. Only Martin and Julian have got dressed, and neither of them is wearing very much. (Well, you know what Julian's like!) The rest are still in their undies -- the way they've been sleeping. I suppose you'll have to get winter outfits for them, seeing it looks like they're arriving in winter. I think it shouldn't be too hard to persuade the older ones to dress for the cold, but young Hans could be a problem. He adores his older brother, and lately he's taken to going topless in admiring emulation of Julian! When he grows up, he wants to become a Romance Sim! He's already got both a boyfriend and a girlfriend.

Here are two old pictures of the Moltke family as they were when they first arrived in Veronaville, way back in December 2012. Brigitte was a child, and Hans was still a toddler.

I think these pictures are small enough that I really don't need to spoiler them.

Ooh, very exciting @AndrewGloria ! I did look to see if there was a fabric or tartan or anything related to the Moltke clan of Germany, and found a crest and coat of arms. But no fabric or anything like that. Manuela looks like she enjoys bright colours, so maybe one of the original colours of Gloria's outfit (yellow/ lime) would suit her, not sure how it would work with her hair though. My self-sim had a hairstyle like that and it clipped with bulky clothes. I can't wait to meet the Moltkes, I'll play the Jones family for a bit and see if their clothes work. The test for me is always when I'm playing other sims- when a visitor arrives on the pavement wearing the winter clothes, do they look like themselves? I think Andrew will in his kilt as I'm accustomed to seeing him in your images wearing one occasionally, but I admit it's going to take a while to get used to seeing Julian wearing anything. Maybe on non-snow days he could change to his usual clothes with the earmuffs, scarf and mittens.

I'm impressed that you managed to fit their outerwear to them so well. Only things I noticed were that Julian's armwarmers kind of clash with the mittens and Andrew was wearing socks and leggings. Maybe boots would fit better with the leggings.

Yes, the mittens clash horribly, but they are Jones tartan and Julian wanted to assert that he is clan Jones (as well as a Moltke). I was thinking about Andrew's kilt, I could do a version without the red tights too, but I think I'd need a different kilt mesh to be able to do boots (as the Maxis one I used has clear shoe shape). Most Scotsmen wear kilts in all weathers without tights/leggings, but I added them in case Andrew was cold (and also because I liked the spash of red against the greens/ blues of the tartan colours).
