Since the first house I created was inspired my a house my friend lived in (see post here... ), I decided to continue on this little kick that I'm on of recreating houses inspired by real life.

So what is the inspiration for this house you ask? Well, it's my Aunt's house. When I was growing up I always looked forward to coming over and my mom and my aunt would chat, and my brother and I would run off and play with our cousins, and the parties...my aunt threw some gooooood parties. There would always be a family picnic towards the end of the summer, plus Thanksgiving and Christmas. The house reminds me of good times with my family, so that's why I made it.

The house itself may look like a split-level, but it really isn't. The house itself is two distinct floors, but the front entry is split. I'm glad I was able to figure that trick out because that's what the entry really looks like... you enter and then you could either go half a flight up or half a flight down. That's "boolprop constrainfloorelevation" hard at work, my fellow Simmers. Quite a fine cheat that is. There is minimal warping but with the wall colors it isn't too noticeable.

Up the stairs and to the left is my aunt's formal living room. As kids, we weren't allowed to sit or anything in there. Too nice. Next to it is the dining area and the kitchen. The kitchen features a breakfast bar and a window (ok, it's actually supposed to be just a framed hole...) overlooking the dining area. Large windows provide a view of the backyard.

Down the hall and on the left are my cousins' bedrooms. Both of them are teenagers, and the oldest one started college this fall. His bedroom is the blue one with the collegiate decorations and his own computer which he was on up until 2 am during the summer. The younger cousin's bedroom is gray (for real, too) and has a few posters in it. At the end of the hall is my aunt's bedroom and attached bath. Where you see mirrors are actually mirrored closet doors, but I don't think anyone's modded those up yet ;-). On the right side of the hall is another bathroom that the boys use.

Downstairs and to the right is a guest bathroom, the garage (which is actually a lot messier than shown here--why do you think the van is in the driveway?), and the laundry/workout room. My aunt is a part-time fitness instructor, so she makes sure to stay in shape. On the left is a closet, the office/playroom, and the den. The den features a fireplace and a bar, and is decorated in a sort-of modern Asian theme.

Exit the screen doors in the den and enter the tranquil backyard. Pull up a chair, get a cold drink, relax by the koi pond (Koi not included, the neighbor cat ate them). During picnics, my uncle would grill up hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill, we kids would jump around in the "above-ground" swimming pool, and then wait out until dark and catch fireflies. Yup, those were some good times. Feel free to create good times for your own Sims in this house.

The lot has been checked with Sims Clean Installer. This family house comes on a 4 X 3 sized lot. You will require the Open for Business Expansion Pack. Kid-friendly transportation device included. The keys are yours for under $176,000.

Enjoy!
