The Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, commonly referred to as Romeo and Juliet, is a tragedy by William Shakespeare concerning the fate of two young "star-cross'd" (ill-fated) lovers. It is perhaps the most famous of his plays and is thought to be the most archetypal love story in Western history.

The more complete and reliable text of this play, was first published in 1599

The costumes are based on a film by Franco Zeffirelli (1968) starring Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey
