Community items in residential lot
To but items you have to place the register on the lot. The only problem with this is that the NPC will consider your lot home even once you've deleted the register, if you don't like them sticking around and they love your home too much to leave you could always kill them off.
-I hope you enjoy it!

Update: It has been discovered that buying food does not work in a residential lot.
Update 03/20/2005: Added University communitylot only objects and added updated original items and university items files
Also wanted to make some notes about the items in the packages, I should hvae been more descriptive, but it was a first-time submitter mistake to not think of all of the things I should have noted originally:
Yes, it is Unviersity compatible!
You can buy (as long as you also place a register on the lot) clothes and the new university items (for instance, cell phone). You can not but food, magazines or games - well you can actually buy them, but they won't show up as purchased in your home so it's a waste of money.
The phone works for calling the taxi only. The urinal, speakers, counters, register and the garbage can work for their intended purposes as well. The signs are decorative only, just like on the community lots. You can try on clothes and woo hoo in the clothing booths.
Regrading the Impresso Espresso-matic and the Way Fluid Island Bar: NPCs will not generate, you will do your own espresso slinging and juice making.
Notes about which one you should download:
If you don't have the university expension pack: download the communitylotitemsinresidentialbuy file.
This will show up as a zebra print folder. If you ever want to delete this it will be package: oxeeff7b9b.package in your collections folder.
If you have already downloaded the above file and you have the University expansion pack and don't care about having the additional 3 university community lot items only in a seperate folder: download the universitycommunitylotitemsinresideidentialbuy file.
This will show up as a blue and white diagonally striped folder. If you ever want to delete this it will be package: 0x0f496a6b.package in your collections folder.
If you haven't downloaded either and you have the University expansion pack or you have the University expansion pack and you have already downloaded the other file but want everything all together: download the communitylotitemsoriginalandunivsersityforresidentialbuy file.
This will show up as a blue and green colored folder (reminds me of a landscape pic of the ocean for some reason). If you ever want to delete this it will be package: 0x6f497027.package
Note: if you already have done the first file and are downloading this you can delete the communitylotitemsinresidentialbuy file by going into the collections folder and deleting this package: 0xeeff7b9b.package
Other key notes: save this into your collections folder. Go to: Documents -> EA Games -> Collections
