A plump young woman with big black eyes, a sallow face, and brown hair looks at you. You have the feeling you've seen her a long time ago in some other world, but you can't place that feeling. "I'm Francesca," she says. "What's your name?"

Background
Francesca Takahashi is a mostly Japanese person from New York with a little Portuguese and Chinese mixed in from her paternal family. She's had adventures alright. When she was barely fifteen, her dad fell ill with cancer and she joined a temple's secret society in order to pay for his treatment. Her determination to be a skilled prize fighter impressed one of the patrons so much that he paid for the cure and supervised the family until Mr. Takahashi recovered a few months later.

The patron encouraged Francesca to find her own way one last time, then went into hiding. In "The Four Stars" Francesca followed her cousins and their friend to Willow Creek to start their working lives as young adults. Despite her cheeky look, Francesca is rather shy and likes to be alone. She also tends to overthink things until she breaks down crying.

Another thing that is of note is Francesca's nightmares. She has recurring bad dreams involving several things, including her dad dying, New York overrun by supervillains, and herself being locked up as someone's plaything. Francesca has only told one person of these dreams, her cousin Isabel Lion.

On a lighter note, Francesca likes purple, high and low fantasy, scribbling, the Gothic subculture, the X-Men, and a certain indie company's video games before they started shoehorning superstars.

She is the main character in the Mechanical Armageddon.
