1923 Sears Bandon

Greetings, Simmers!

Next, on the list of Sears and Roebuck kit homes is the 1923 Bandon. I have made changes to the original floor plan... It calls for an eat-in kitchen and a formal dining room... not a problem. However, the area that I have used as a downstairs office was originally designated as a "dining porch"... WHAT? Why would you need so many different eating areas? The upstairs was considered an unfinished area... Since there were only 2 bedrooms on the main floor, I made the upstairs a sprawling master suite. I have removed the "sleeping porch" from the rear of the house. Not only would they be considered completely unnecessary today.... as a mom, I would be fearful for the safety of anyone (especially children) using them.... in real life, of course, but the feelings do show in what I build......
