The Corner Shoppes of Downtown ~ Redux ~ in 2 flavors: Christmas & Everyday

Time for another Maxis Make-Over ~ this time it's The Corner Shoppes located in DownTown that caught Cat's eye as she was wandering around aimlessly (still in a daze from moving into a new home just days after Hurricane Irma blew through town!) She found herself sitting on a bench amidst a cluster of clean little shops - wishing desperately for a cup of coffee (any caffeinated beverage would do, really!)

The shops around her seemed nice enough, but there weren't very many customers she noticed. It was all just tired. Later that night, after unpacking a zillion and one boxes of kitchen "stuff" at home... she realized she knew just what to do to perk up those sleepy shops...

May I present to you - in two versions - The NEW Corner Shoppes of DownTown. One version decked out for Christmas; and one version for everyday shopping:



Merchants include: books and games, clothier, pets, toys, grocer, a coffee kiosk, and a restaurant.





After all the Holiday Cheer is spent, these shoppes are ready to continue on with business as usual for the rest of the year.



Please scroll through all the pictures to see what these shoppes have to offer. Both versions are basically the same - as far as "merchandise" goes. The bookstore lost a gamerack stand to make way for a Christmas Tree, but most of the in-store decos were just added to what was already there. Outside, the sidewalk was widened a bit in two places to accommodate the huge central Christmas Tree and the front Nutcracker display.

Changes made to the original EAxis lot:
The gameroom was moved to the book/game store; and the old gameroom turned into a toy store.
The restaurant moved upstairs (with an actual kitchen now); downstairs became a grocery store.
Public bathrooms are relocated so their entrance is from a common area - not from inside one store.
An extra unisex bathroom is located upstairs in the restaurant lobby.
The deck area between the bathrooms was enlarged to accommodate the coffee kiosk.
Above the clothier, a second floor was added to contain the pet shop - it has it's own entrance, upstairs.
More benches were added - to my surprise, it was Mama Goodie that sat before Papa did! (Didya see the picture?)
The sidewalks around the grounds were unified to 2 tiles of cement everywhere (OCD CDO? Me?) LOL!

I tried to use as little CC as I could - and what little there is is all included in the file Enjoy!!!


NOTE: If walls are missing when you first visit the lot, exit without saving and add Numenor's Unlevel Wall - #90 to your DL folder before loading this house again. Sometimes I use this wall instead of the CFE cheat when building houses.

Standard mods I use that are not necessary nor included - but were probably used whilst building/photo-ing/prepping this house for upload...

I also use FRAPs to take in-game pictures, and PhotoShop to clean/collage said pictures.
