Update - 12/03/25:
Ok so after uploading I pretty much immediately came across a bug, which I fixed. Unfortunately this mod was stuck waiting for approval and I couldn't find a way to edit it until it was finally up. Sorry I didn't edit before now, but I forgot about it after a week waiting for the upload (not a dig at the mods, they do good work). I also changed the file name and such to better align with how other people seem to be doing it and using my Mod The Sims username, cuz I forgot what it was when I made the first version. XD
Anyway, I haven't had any problems with this version, so I recommend replacing it even if you haven't encountered the bug yet. Hope y'all enjoy.
Initial Release:
Hi all, I created a hidden trait that prevents the Debuff "Not Meant To Be" for taking romantic actions with a sim other than your Fated Mate. I've seen plenty of things for disabling Fated Mates altogether or changing the relationship trigger, but I've not seen this before so, like Thanos, I thought I'd do it myself.
It's called "Fated Polyamory", but since it's hidden it won't show up outside of when you add it to your sim. I used the UI cheats "Add Trait..." interaction to give it to my sims, dunno how you would go about doing it otherwise, but I'm sure there are other ways to add traits.
I'm not an experienced modder, so I wasn't able to achieve the exact result I wanted (which was for the trait to be gained if you have the Player trait as well as a Fated Mate) so after a bunch of trial and error I just settled for this original proof of concept version I made in Mod Constructor
If anybody else wants to take this and use it to create their own version or other stuffs, then by all means, do so. All I ask is that you credit me in your mod.
I doubt this will need updating, and I don't know enough about modding to warn people about conflicts. I also probably won't bee looking back on this all that often, but if people have advice on how to make this work without having to manually add the trait to your sim, then please share. Happy simming y'all!
