About This Mod
Enchanted by Nature PlantSim Overhaul expands PlantSims into a more complete and permanent life state, inspired by their gameplay and identity in The Sims 2, and The Sims 3.
Instead of functioning as a short temporary transformation, PlantSims can now remain PlantSims indefinitely, develop a much stronger connection to gardening and nature, use their powers autonomously, recover through sunlight and water, and display a more distinct plant-like appearance.
The mod uses existing official game assets and tuning. It does not add custom CAS parts, custom meshes, or script files.

Main Features
Permanent PlantSims
The PlantSim trait is now persistent and no longer expires automatically.
The original PlantSim transformation timer remains frozen, preventing the game from removing the PlantSim state after the usual temporary duration.
PlantSims will remain transformed until the player deliberately uses Restore Lifeforce.

Classic PlantSim Lifestyle
This mod gives PlantSims a lifestyle closer to their older appearances in the franchise.
PlantSims are strongly drawn toward:
  • Gardening
  • Flower Arranging
  • Natural Living
  • Entomology
  • Caring for plants
  • Using nature-related powers
Their connection to plants is intentionally strong. This is not meant to be a subtle personality bonus.

Master Gardener Bonuses
PlantSims receive major effective skill bonuses in the following skills:
  • Gardening: +10 effective skill levels
  • Flower Arranging: +10 effective skill levels
  • Natural Living: +10 effective skill levels
  • Entomology: +10 effective skill levels
They also receive a strong autonomous preference value of 25 for all four skill categories.
This allows PlantSims to behave like naturally experienced gardeners even when their visible skill level is still low.

Autonomous PlantSim Powers
Several PlantSim abilities can now be used autonomously.
Nature’s Breath
PlantSims may autonomously use Nature’s Breath on plants and other Sims.
The power uses the official Nature’s Vessel moodlet as an autonomy cooldown. While the moodlet is active, the PlantSim will not repeatedly use the ability autonomously.
The player can still manually command the power during the cooldown.
Poison Kiss
PlantSims may autonomously use Poison Kiss when the situation allows mean or hostile social behavior.
It follows the game’s autonomous mean-social rules, making it more likely to be used by mean, angry, hostile, or poorly behaved Sims rather than every PlantSim randomly poisoning strangers.
The official Plagued Peck moodlet acts as an autonomy cooldown. Manual use remains available.

PlantSim Needs
The Energy and Hygiene needs have been removed from PlantSims to align with their iterations in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, where PlantSims had fewer needs. I also felt that having a hygiene need was unnecessary when they already have a water need.

Visual PlantSim Upgrade
PlantSims permanently display the official leaf and vine visual effects used by PlantSim animations.
The effects are attached directly to the PlantSim buff instead of depending on a temporary animation clip, allowing the leaves to remain visible after the animation ends.
Enchanted by Nature Fern Hair
The old PlantSim hairstyle is replaced with the Fern hair variants.
Hair appearance changes depending on hydration:
  • Hydrated: green Fern hair
  • Thirsty: gray Fern hair
  • Parched: white Fern hair
These are official game CAS parts and do not create custom-content wrench icons.
Greenie Meanie Vine Overlay
PlantSims use the official Greenie Meanie vine overlay as part of their appearance.

Restore Lifeforce
PlantSims can return to human form by using Restore Lifeforce.
Restore Lifeforce:
  • Is never autonomous
  • Requires 20 Piles of Fairy Dust
  • Removes the PlantSim state
The mod uses the official registered Restore Lifeforce interaction and official game loot resources.

Fairy Dust Requirements Removal
Most PlantSim powers no longer require Fairy Dust for regular use.
Fairy Dust is instead reserved for Restore Lifeforce, making the decision to abandon the PlantSim state more deliberate and costly.

Requirements
  • The Sims 4
  • Enchanted by Nature Expansion Pack
The mod uses PlantSim improvements, Fairy Dust, visual effects, hairstyles, overlays, moodlets, and interactions from this expansion.

Installation

1. Remove every older version of this mod.
2. Place only the newest `.package` file in your Mods folder.
3. Delete `localthumbcache.package`.
4. Fully restart the game.

Do not install multiple versions at the same time.
This mod does not require Script Mods to be enabled.

Conflicts
This mod may conflict with other mods that override or heavily modify:
  • `trait_PlantSim`
  • `Buff_Trait_PlantSim`
  • `buff_PlantSims_MainBuff_Visible`
  • PlantSim transformation timers
  • PlantSim motive buffs
  • Restore Lifeforce
  • Nature’s Breath
  • Poison Kiss
  • PlantSim appearance modifiers
  • PlantSim hairstyles
  • PlantSim autonomous behavior
  • PlantSim solar absorption interactions
  • PlantSim food or sleeping restrictions
Mods that only add unrelated interactions or cosmetic CAS content should generally be compatible.

Known Limitations and Possible Questions
  • Because The Greenie Meanie vine overlay uses an existing game appearance slot, it may temporarily conflict with other ailment overlays that use the same slot. When another overlay ends and the game recalculates the Sim’s appearance, the PlantSim vines should return.
  • Custom beds, sofas, tents, foods, or appliances with unique interactions may bypass some restrictions.
  • The normal Restore Lifeforce interaction might sometimes fail to appear. However, you can use MC Command Center or other mods to remove the PlantSim trait.
  • This mod does not convert PlantSims into a fully separate occult type with a dedicated CAS occult form or skill tree.
  • No custom CAS parts, meshes, scripts, or custom-content wrench icons are included.
