Finally Uploaded the Tshirts!
Date Posted: 1st Sep 2007 at 12:56 PM
I know I said I'd do it on Wednesday, but it took me until last night to get a chance to run the game to take the screenshots and then MTS2 was in the dreaded Maintanence Mode when I wanted to upload them so I've just done it now instead. With having a relative staying with us all week I've barely being in to be able to play the game let alone make and upload something, but she goes home tommorow so it should be back to normal.
We went to St. Annes (near Blackpool) on Wednesday, some remote part of the Yorkshire Dales on Thursday, Leeds on Friday (didn't buy anything, poo) and I daresay we'll be going out this afternoon. My feet are killing me! I've been wearing Crocs because I had my toes done the other week and the strap's been rubbing my ankle. I didn't think Crocs gave you blisters, that's why I bought them! If anyone has any experience with Crocs and knows how to stop them rubbing I'll be glad to hear it.

Lazyitus
Date Posted: 28th Aug 2007 at 10:20 PM
I finished making tshirts, hurray! However I was also struck by a sudden bout of Lazyitus which means I won't be going into my game to take screenshots until tommorow because it's too late and I can't be bothered waiting for my game to load right now.
The Lazyitus struck earlier when I got so fed up of using the clone button in Photoshop to get rid of the different coloured sleeves and stuff on the Maxis tshirts, that I just used HystericalParoxysm's and Migamoo's lovely, ready made textures instead (HP's for the adult female, Migamoo's for the teen). It's so much easier! Why didn't I think of it earlier?! Much better tshirts because they look like an actual tshirt instead of all Maxisisised (just made up a word, go me!). I'm so dumb *worships at HP and Migamoo's feet*
So yeah, tomorow for those if nothing else comes up. We have relatives staying with us at the moment so I don't know what's going to be happening. Ooh! I put the Annie Cartwright sim I made aaaaaaaaages ago on my blog. Please let me know what you think! http://fainiel-sims.livejournal.com/ Unless it's rude, in that case keep it to yourself. Constructive criticism only please! I think I need it.....

Tshirt Ideas
Date Posted: 25th Aug 2007 at 10:51 PM
After asking for ideas for tshirts in my last entry I came up with the following:
Biffy Clyro
The Clash
AFI
The Cure
Gogol Bordello
Jimmy Eat World
Muse
Operation Ivy
Smashing Pumpkins
Juliette and the Licks
Some of these are because I like the bands and a couple are just because the tshirt design is pretty. Some are both! I've made a Muse one already for Teen and Adult Female, I just have to get my head in gear to do the rest. My inspiration and incliation went out the window when I had that minor surgery on my feet a couple of days back.

Your suggestions please!

Right, so I've thought of some bands to make tshirts of. I've thought of Biffy Clyro and I want to redo that Fall Out Boy one. Anybody got any other ideas? I did think of 30 Seconds to Mars after seeing them on Scuzz this morning (Jared Leto, yes please! :lovestruc ). Other than that, I'm stumped. So if you have any ideas and there are good images of tshirt designs, I'll be glad to hear them.
I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment. Earlier today I had surgery to fix my ingrown toenails so I won't be going very far for a while! It's hard to walk and the local anesthetic is just starting to wear off. Ouchy

All Change!
Date Posted: 19th Aug 2007 at 7:42 PM
I lost my rag with MSN Live Spaces and moved to Livejournal. How long did that take? 3 days? Must be a record for the shortest blog ever! Anyway my new address is http://fainiel-sims.livejournal.com/. The username 'fainiel' was already taken! I'm stunned. And no, it's not me before you ask, so it's fainiel_sims. It was either that or fainiel_wallpaper which sounded a bit weird.
I spent today making some wallpapers so I'm going to put them up, but I'm also going to put up the stuff I did on the other blog, so expect one huge entry for my first one (thank Frank for LJ cuts!).

New Blog Address

Ok, the address for my blog is http://cid-0b121b2d479f39ea.spaces.live.com/. I've put those hair recolours I was talking about in my last post there and also some Doctor Who wallpapers I made. Please let me know what you think of the layout and everything because I'm still not 100% confident with Live Spaces so I'd like to know if you find it easy to use. Uploading photos wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do so that's one thing that's a lot easier on LJ. But what do you think?

I'm getting a blog!
Date Posted: 17th Aug 2007 at 4:23 PM
Which makes it sound like I'm getting a nasty disease, doesn't it? Oh well.
After the little burst of creativity that resulted in me uploading those tshirts, I've run out of ideas. I completely cleaned out my room and got rid of a load of junk on Wednesday, so I think that spent all my energy and now I just want to do nothing! So I'm sat here, listening to Scott Mills, doing absolutely nothing. And it's quite nice thank you very much!
MSN keep bugging me about getting a live space blog or something, and you know, it might be a good idea. I've got an LJ, but it's for the benefit of the people I used to go to university in Preston with. It'll be nice to have somewhere to put sim stuff and my wallpapers and things. So, I've just set one up and I'll give you the link when it's got something on it. I'm not going to stop putting stuff on here though. That would never happen.
The reason that all this has happened is I saw a girl in Tesco this morning with gorgeous hair. It was black, but she had a pink and a purple streak at the front and my first thought was, "Wow, that'd look good on a sim". So I've done it, but it's on a Rose pay mesh so I can't put it on here, so I thought I could put it on my livespace when it's done and I've made some more colours. Before that though, I'm looking for a similar mesh that's free, but it hasn't happened so far which is a shame.

Lots of Tshirts!
Date Posted: 12th Aug 2007 at 9:32 PM
Well, alright, six tshirts. That's quite a few anyway! I've not being outside much over the weekend because I've been stuck in hayfever hell, so I ended up making a few band tshirts instead. I'm going to upload them I think, but maybe not right now because I've spent the last 2 hours (!!) creating models and taking photos and I'm tired. Here's a sneaky peek at them:

From left to right: Foo Fighters, Rancid, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Thursday and Green Day. All for adult and teen female, doing male ones as well would have just been too much! I found a Fall Out Boy one as well that I made ages ago, but when I got it in game I realised it must have been made before I had this laptop because I hadn't bothered doing the bump map and there was a line around the poor sims tummy. I'll have to redo that one later I think. There's tons of other bands on my iTunes so I'll do another set at some point as well!

Questions
Date Posted: 7th Aug 2007 at 5:10 PM
I got my head around this photoskinning malarkey and I think it turned out quite well!

For a first go I'm really proud of that. I don't know if it's worthy of upload though, but I like it and I guess that's what counts. If I do decide to upload it I'll use a different sim because she doesn't look very impressed, does she? I'd like to have another go, but I don't own another dress and I can't find a website that shows both the front and back. Might have to raid my mum's wardrobe next time she goes out!
I have more pressing questions to answer at the moment, namely:
a) Why I haven't heard from the university jobshop in a month
b) What to buy my brother for his birthday
c) Will doing Lord of the Rings for my dissertation completely suck all the fun out of it? (LOTR that is, not the dissertation. I don't think dissertations could ever be classed as fun!).
d) What I want to do after university finishes. I've no idea and graduation is a year away!
On the bright side the weather has cooled down a bit and it's not so oppressively hot anymore thank goodness!

*too hot*
Date Posted: 5th Aug 2007 at 5:32 PM
Today is apparently the hottest day of the year so far. I don't know how hot it actually is, but it's hot. You know, by Britain's standards anyway. Makes me wish we had air conditioning, even though it would be a gross waste of money for the rest of the year.
I finally heard back from EA on Monday and all they said was that my video card wasn't on the list of cards that they support, so they can't help me. Riiiight. If it's a choice of buying a new video card on the off chance it might solve the problem or just not using the affected outfits/meshes then I know which I'm choosing. So apologies to glamorouslounge.net and anyone who recolours their meshes because they're the only meshes I seem to have a problem with apart from that Glamour Life Maxis one. Any other suggestions? I know naff all about computers, so suggestions will be appreciated.
I've had CS2 for about a week now, but I've only just started working my way through it because I've had a cold for the past week and haven't really felt up to it. I've also just realised that I've been ill on the hottest week of the year so far. That's just not fair. Knowing Britain, it'll be the only week of summer until next year as well. It's weird how we had all that rain whilst Rhianna was number one in the charts with a song called 'Umbrella', then last week as soon as she gets knocked off, the sun comes out! Strange. Very strange. Anyway, I've been messing about with CS2 and seeing what it can do differently (I'm especially loving the liquify filter). I've got a book from the library, so I'm working my way through some of the tutorials in that and some of the ones on this site so hopefully I'll have some new creations soon. I'm currently experimenting with photoskinning, but it's not going too well. Maybe because I took the photo and I'm not so good at it. But what else can you do when you can't find a picture of the back of the dress online?
*goes off for ice cream*
