Well, the secret hobbie lots won't be in the final version of the file. xD Since it's a requirement for making a downloadable university, and I have the ideal configuration without stealth hoods for setting it up. But anyway, if you want to download the lots and try them out, you'll see they're a good example of how to simulate places where Sims will actually improve their skills, and it feels quite realistic and well-distributed. I don't know, for me, it seems like a good example of how to place objects in community lots in uni, simulating real learning centers and adding gameplay and a place to meet other Sims while improving skills.

It's just an example; I understand that this one is more focused on storytelling and has a remote, foggy industrial town vibe, transformed into a university.

Maybe drama school could be like a café-theater with rooms that have ballet bars or whatever we can come up with. xD

Edit: Regarding Simra Building, it's great, but I went with 8 Sims and it was chaotic. Although I think it looks really good, it's truly chaotic! But in a good way. It really feels like some kind of geek kingdom.

I think if you want such layout then you could do some research for majors, for skills necessary and provide goods for each major in precise building. One building for one or two majors. That way it would work. Those way they did it looks more like hobby lots. That's not good neither bad. Just not fitting.

Omg no. It so tight! I tried to make walkarounds for sims not to bump their heads to each other but 8 sims are too much for those building! It is not fitting for community parties. it is more like a fair to buy some geek-related goods! Looks like I gave wrong impression with such layout and description.

The designs are out of place, yes, but I was only referring to the objects used in the constructions and how they cleverly simulated faculties. Obviously, it doesn't fit with our style. xD

What should we do now? We are changing direction?

Do we really need to build such major-related special buildings? Then we need different plan.

No, I was just saying that having some kind of building for laboratories, military use, theater, art, or something else would be nice. I'm not talking about changing course at all.

Edit: I need to upload the new SC4, but first I need to edit this so it's the same length on both sides. Which side should I keep the length of, A or B? A is longer.

Edit2: I'm really a bit unsure what to do. I don't know whether to try to build something on the map using Yinepu's established lots, or invent something without any defined location and then you guys choose where it could go.

I need to update SC4, and with hoodreplace import the Yinepu decoration to give you an empty neighborhood version with the decorated sub-neighborhood to use as a temporary place to build.

Important buildings are cool, but the nature of the project makes them pop up over time when someone has enough time and creativity to build them, and if in the end something is missing or something is repeated nothing happens. I don't think it's wrong to have community lots of pure leisure or to pass the time and then something full of skill objects or something more exaggerated like a factory-lab full of cow plants. xD

It's just as cool to have a park with trees, a restaurant, a karaoke bar, a street, a tower, or a faculty. I mean.

Administrative building could have all skills available. This would be the only building for skilling like all skills in one. With classrooms and desks. For any major and any degree. Others remain the places for hangout. Like in downtown.

Wait it's not the same length road? Dang, I need to get my eyes checked!

It's weird, it looks the same in SimCity 4, but it looks longer in the game. xD I'm trying to fix it.

Edit: It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. No matter how I try, counting the squares or trying to build more roads on the sides, one side is always longer. :O

I slightly enlarged the richi area because it seemed odd that it looked so small. I think it looks good now and there will be more places for lots.

I succeded today with building a hangar type building.

Look at the roof! It is so smoooooth! I like it. Thanks to Mootilda fer her mathematics tool.

This still looks disgusting in neighborhood. But does it look worthy in total??

I decided to build two lots with towers. Like a domineering spirit over all houses around as those are administrative. One tower is higher then another to break somehow a perfect symmethry. And two twin hangar buildings by sides.
One is aquatics ceneter with comminty pool and extras and another is greenhouse with some amenities yet not decided.

I will adjust the height of both to look identic and high enough to house a tree.

The truth is, it all looks great together! Although perhaps the two squares are a bit too close to the edge of the lot. But it all depends on how it looks in the end.

Those look amazing honestly.

It certainly much different than the original idea I had from those lots, but that's actually a good thing because my original idea was just stereotypical Georgian-revival seen on popular universities like Harvard... Your idea is more original. I like it! :D

That's the first time I use Mootilda's grid adjuster. I don't like hangars. Too brutalist, too edgy, too huge. But I was sooo amazed by how her tool "generate" those roof. It's like magic *_*

I like classic buildings, georgian revival and think the Sims 3 university was the best with appearence. But I think that we are going to fusion design.

Zarathustra built already a great university looking like Harvard. They shared screenshots somewhere over there but I guess they will never share it because they are... kind of character.

Hello guys. How are ya? If you had some progress so you could post your WIPs in search of inspiration.

I reserved four spaces for building which are kinda hard. And I will start from two hangars. I will take both shells for hangars as I almost figured out how whole thing of Grid adjuster works. I am lack of ideas for two huge lots however. Nothing but both should be administrative. One is more recreative a another more "serious" and skilling purposes.

I have some CC to be honest wanted to place but since we are building no CC build (i guess?) I will find decorative replacements. Now I find a way to avoid of use even Catherine's invisible tiles. But that's hard again due to hangar CFE-d curved roof level.

I'm going to recreate these 2 lots and transform them into dorms, since I think they're pretty cool and easy to rebuild. I played the Hospital quite a bit, although I find it a little too big and it lags, so I'll make it smaller. The Sanatorium also has a really cool facade, so I'll try to create a dorm like that too.

Regarding the hangars, I recommend finding a way to avoid lag xD

I've found some references that I had saved years ago.

I've been working on recreating the building for a while now. The interior will be quite different since the lot is smaller and the terrain has a different shape.

Those are not laggy. Those are having weatherproof issues like all the houses with CFE'd level do. I'll try to find out solution and will show you my way.

Kinda dark enviroment. I can't wait to see all the houses to accomodate. Guess it will be veeery unexpected coexistance.

The solution I use is to add another level (Moo has a "Level-adder" tool around somewhere, which might make it easier?)
But, if you have another level between the ceiling and the CFEd roof, then the rooms below will be weatherproof.
You can Grid-Adjust your extra level down to 1-click - maybe even 0? - and it is hardly noticeable.

@Victor_tor - Isn't the Grid-Adjuster fun? OMG! The possibilities!
Moo was a supreme genius

I've been supportive of this project, so please stay with me when I say this, but I feel like Enigma is very mixed with too many different ideas. And it just does not feel consistent, so it's not giving me a good sense of belief. The ideas are great, and the premise is great, so what's wrong here? Why can't I seem to find this place as actually existing, even within TS2 world and lore?

OMG you are so sweet with thoughts you just shared here.

This is not my first command project. When I played FreeSO (ex-The-Sims-Online, currently shut down), we had to build a townhouse for Strangetown neighborhood. We all were very different but we found that all we are right there because we really love those neighborhood! Every single player played Strangetown but in different game from The Sims series. And then we agreed to build a house all together. The result was veery unusual. All other townhouses were just one giant house with a townhall for ceremonies. We end up as multiple tiny houses, each from different game. I still don't know the Strangetown from game boy, from the console game. I never played that. I was responsible for PC and I built a Curious bros' house. That was my part.

It's said just to tell you are not responsible for things you don't quite understand. You should not understand everything! You can find yourself in those part you can handle. If you are doing something just do it with heart and it's quite enough.

I do see the project heading towards something more and more concrete. Honestly! But oh well, maybe it was my fault. I always derail the thread when I talk, lol. I should keep my mouth shut. But I don't know, when I saw the campus center with the towers, I started to feel like the neighborhood was finally taking on the character it should have.

Personally, I'm going to build in a separate, empty neighborhood, without any specific landmarks to confuse me. That works better for me than building on the map. I'll try to make sure the orientation is always with the sun facing the facade. xD

If you hated my recreation of the hospital because you didn't find it original, don't worry, I did it to break the ice, but I'm not convinced by it either.
