Just finished downloading default clothing for every outfit in the game. My downloads folder is now 6.5 GBs. Most of it is custom food and other defaults like skin, hair, and make up. I have a ton of life state mods and pretty much every essential mod. New Parties is my newest mod. I like it, but I wish there was a way to get sims to avoid the pool unless there's a pool party.

My main folder is currently shrinking, but mostly due to the Compressorizer and some cleaning work, plus there's been several duplicates located, and some files I'm planning to remove. Can't get an exact count because I've separated the files and they're in two folders (mostly CAS + mostly everything else), plus all the stuff I'm moving out is there as well, but the entire thing used to be around 30 GB, now it's probably closer to around 22-24 GB, but aiming for less (so I can put in more, obviously).

I've also located files I didn't know I had, and others I didn't realize I was planning to fix, and some I decided on the spot to edit, which resulted in several fixed/new projects. One was just a file I'd cloned and given a new name, probably meaning to do the rest at some point but forgotten all about. Been hanging out in my downloads folder as a custom-star and probably GUID-override changing table for 8 years (still can't believe I haven't noticed until now, just occasionally found it odd I had a random not edited changing table with a custom star but never put the two together). Finally got around to actually do what I'd planned to do with it (and probably better than the initial idea, because I avoided a ton of recoloring, which is always a bonus).

Anyhow. Cleaning downloads is actually quite interesting. There's a lot of weird stuff hanging out in my downloads. I really need to do a full sweep of "do I really need these items?" once I'm done recategorizing and fixing everything I'm reasonably sure I'l keep... (also adding AL-shift and shelf compatibility to a ton of items, because I'm so tired of needing OMSPs for everything, and I hate when small items don't even go onto shelves).

I've likely got more CC objects than EA content and much of it is hostircal content suited for my Pleasantview game as that's taking place in the 17th century when Pleasantview was first colonized.I've got Mods to allow me to play like it's not modern times if I want to play hisorical themes.

Well, I see it's nearly 3 years since I last posted in this thread. Since then I've moved my game to my new computer, and I see I've gone well past the 2GB mark. Unlike a lot of people here, I've never done a clear-out of CC. I really only take CC out if is causing problems. I have removed some mods and some hairs for this reason. As always my main weaknesses are clothing (especially skimpy male clothing!), hair (more male hair than female!) and of course all the mods that help my game to run in the way that I -- and my Sims -- like. The biggest single change I've made recently was taking out Pescado's Romance Mod and replacing it with LizzLove's no-jealousy-at-all, a change I made because Andrew and Julian told me to!

My first post in this thread in March 2013 (over 10 years ago now) was when I'd only been playing for four months, and I see I already had over 1,200 CC files. Clearly I started the way I intended to continue!

4,26 GB, 3.026 files, and 34 folders.

Most of it is merged files. I thought I could keep my CC amount low by strictly using only maxis furniture addons... and suddenly there's 1.75 GB in my Buy Build folder alone. Shows you what I know

Last month I downsized my download folder and it's now sitting at exactly 4.5 gb. Before that it was around 20.

As long as I can keep it under 10, I'll be happy.

Earlier this year I scrapped my downloads folder and started fresh. So, the new one is currently 5.85 GB (uncompressed) and has 30,197 files.

Once I realized that I only liked having a handful of recolors (instead of 30+) for any one object and/or CAS item, that eliminated a lot of content. In an effort to just enjoy *playing* the game, these days I'm focusing more on adding game enhancing mods and functional objects, instead of a bunch of unnecessary hairs, static/deco objects and clothing.

Default replacing items has been a great space saver as well.

Damn I can't believe this thread is still getting responses, lol. I came to grab some mods for a fresh install and saw all these notifications!

7.52 GB (21,683 files in 277 folders).
It's definitely been bigger in the past, but man I should probably start merging these packages.

About 14GB currently. And I haven't added custom foods yet. (I'm afraid if I add them again, my game would explode... wonder how many GUID left?)

2.48 GB, 8,431 Files, 158 Folders today

and
296 MB, 1.262 Files, 4 Folders on 27th March 2013.

So I've only added 1,131 CC files since I last posted here, almost 3 years ago. I reckon I've now got most of the CC I want. Mostly I use hair, clothes, accessories and mods. I don't use a lot of Build/Buy CC. In fact compared to many people here, I'm quite a low CC-user.

11 GB at the moment (30 768 Files, 1 537 Folders).
Soon going to add another ~10 GB though when I transfer the CC and neighborhoods from the 2006 game installation into my current one.

My gaming laptop is "only" 6 years old, so I hope it doesn't give me too much of an attitude over it!
Though at least my 2006 laptop can handle its own ~10 GB of CC fine, with minor slowdowns and longer but still bearable loading times.

and that is AFTER I cleaned out the damn folder.
