Thanks. I have MC, will look for that option. A couple of my sims' spouses are neat, but this mainly manifests itself at the end of a meal when they will wash their plate ...as opposed to the average sim who will wander off leaving the plate on the table, then return an hour later and complain of the mess. But my idea was fomented by those times a sim enters the house and immediately complains of something nasty, which I do not see, so I wanted a way to tell them "you see something disgusting? Go clean it up! Don't make me look for it." (I can imagine the extra added enjoyment of the Pets EP.)

I wish there were mods that expanded upon the more useless traits. I want proper to be tweaked to allow you to fight burglars and not be so dated. I also would like Night Owl to be expanded by maybe giving sims mystic interactions like reading tarot and stuff. Maybe Adventurous trait rewards you for eating exotic foods and stuff, etc.

...Does anyone know if there's a more simple version of
https://modthesims.info/d/681624/ti...the-sims-3.html
floating out there somewhere?

Now that I have a new computer, everything is tiny on my screen.
I'm sure I could figure out the installation, but after a few hours of "fixing my mods folder" I'm hesitant to take up anything that isn't just plunk-n-drop.

Wholeheartedly agreed. I wish traits that do little more than enhance certain skills could do more than just boost that skill itself. I wish Avant-Garde didn't feel so redundant next to Artistic. I wish Dramatic had way more of an impact on the sim's life. And this veers more towards "fixing annoying traits" but I wish Hydrophobic sims wouldn't cry and moan about taking a shower -- it's not like you're immersing yourself neck-deep in raging rapids or something!

I just have my game resolution lower for Sims 2 and 3. The directions for the UI fix for 3 confused me, and I'm too lazy to give it another try.
...Ironically, a song just started playing about a guy who can't be bothered with things.

I think making things dated was the intention of the Proper trait. It came out with Supernatural, which has occult types that live a lot longer than regular sims. Of course, I could see how it wouldn't fit everyone's playstyle, either.
Pfft, what if a burglar broke in, and the Proper sim provoked them, but in a very proper way. I now have this absurd image of a sim in a dapper suit walking up to a robber and slapping them with a glove or something. XD
"How long have you been seventeen?"
"...A while."
I don't use the Night Owl trait much because it can cause negative moodlets at certain times of the day. And because it feels kind of lacking compared to some of the other traits. Loves the Cold/Heat also comes to mind. If they added more bonuses for that, fleshed it out more, it might make the traits feel more worthwhile. I also think the notifications of things that happen to Loser sims at work or school should cause negative moodlets. It makes the story feel kind of pointless if the sim doesn't actually feel embarrassed for hours afterwards.

There should be a mod that allows player to decide does a teen get their first kiss in the prom or not. Now my sim is kissed a person who was not his love interest but childhood best friend like a sister. They went to the prom as friends.

I found something else that claims to edit the UI, among other things...
You have to scroll down a bit to see the details; wanted to share for everyone to see:

https://github.com/sims3fiend/Sims3SettingsSetter
(Referred to henceforth as S3SS

Edit:
Oh, I found this though a youtube video titled
This new mod makes The Sims 3 Run Smoothly! | 2026 Performance Guide by a user named Delulu Luma if anyone wants to follow their video to see how to install the file.
But, I HIGHLY recommend you backup everything - everything - if you attempt the S3SS install.
Or, y'know, actually know how to code unlike myself....

I would like a mod which adds more books; using the "Once Read" mod my older bookworm sims run out of things to read. I found a mod that adds about twenty RL books to the game, but it doesn't work with versions later than 1.38 (comments state if enabled on later versions all books in the game disappear). Perhaps double, or triple, the number of books, whether real, fictional, or a combination is fine with me; even have some "hidden" skill books - a book by Isaac Walton would improve your fishing, one by Graham Kerr could improve your cooking. (I think the default skill books are too powerful; a new sim, just moved into town, can become a master gardener in 3-4 afternoons by reading the three gardening books in the library ...without ever planting or harvesting anything.)

And I think our affluent sims would enjoy some of the things their RL counterparts have, such as a tennis court, or a driving range and/or putting green.

Nraas' Written Word puts all of the books that the NPCs have written into the bookshop. Likewise sometimes those books show up in the consignment shop. And if all else fails, any book you write isn't counted as read when you get the copy in the mail, so you can write your own.

I think there's a putting range in one of the expansions I don't have- Showtime maybe?

" Written Word puts all of the books that the NPCs have written into the bookshop. Likewise sometimes those books show up in the consignment shop"

When your author sim acquires a certain renown their books begin appearing in the local library. But this can become overblown. In one world, with a comparatively small library, eventually the entire stacks were nothing but my sim's books. Great for her ego but I'm sure the other residents weren't as pleased.

I was also thinking of a mod that would make the author career a bit more interesting. As best I can tell the romance genre is always the best seller, so if you want to make money you write nothing but cheap romance novels unless a reward requests something different. But public tastes and the market fluctuate, perhaps romance is popular for a few weeks then interest shifts to fantasy; your author sim would have to keep an eye on market trends and anticipate what will be popular next and cater to that market. Alternately, they could stick to their favorite genre and after a certain number of best sellers there they would always get top rates for their books no matter what was popular at the time.

I wish there was a mod that would double check if a community lot has any other enclosed room than a toilet. I hate that sims visit a park or a fishing spot (or anything that doesn't have a building other than an outhouse) and need to "enter" through a door in order to properly arrive on the lot.

My wish of the day: some kind of expansion to the store glassblowing station and skill. Would love to have more items to craft with it.

One of the first things I do in a new game is cancel the newspaper, it's just an extra task every day to pick it up and throw it away. The I go to story progression and cancel notices I don't need (Bob got a new job. Tom and Mary are expecting a baby. etc). Notices of the festivals, sales at the grocery store or book store I don't mind, but then it dawned on me - why not put all this in the newspaper, leaving only notices about my household or game mechanics in those popups on the upper right. Now there would be a reason the read the paper ever day; it would tell you about sales, festivals, marriages, babies, new jobs, maybe even a weather report. Don't know if such a mod is feasible but it would add to immersion in the game.
