@tontrin that is the most epic bug ever! I am so jealous! I'd reply to your post, but that kind of reply is broken rn.

I hit the end of the tracks for now.
I believe I had about 80 hours playtime which is pretty much what the devs were saying so no complaints, especially as there was plenty of content I didn't touch (babies, toddlers etc).
I had my first kitchen fire, and it became obvious that the fire-fighting function needs some work, so that made me realise there's a lot more to come and I'll just wait for the next batch of updates.
Still very pleased with the game, but back to sims 3 for the moment.

When I had a Para cook and it resulted in fire I had the Para put it out. I'd seen a video about how badly the firefighters are and the Para put it out quickly before it spread. I've done pretty much the same thing in The Sims 2 and 3 because it's usually faster. LOL

Right now I don't have any Sims game installed so I've been learning a lot about paralives. I realized on my Linux Mint I had installed The Sims 2 the incorrect way and it ran fine but I was having a lot of problems with SimPE when I was working on learning how to make a default override. I'll get it installed again but, since I've been enjoying Paralives so much, it's waiting.

What a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I've had one experience with fire so far. The firefighters showed up but at first they just stood outside with my paras not doing anything. I had to cancel the "IT'S A FIRE" action and suddenly they rushed inside to handle the fire. So definitely needs some work.

Before Paralives released I was building a custom sims 3 world and only halfway finished the commercial district. I don't have time to play Paralives or the Sims right now though, let alone build my custom world. nsofcsda

@kkffoo I honestly think you didn't play with the best bit. babies and toddlers especially is where paralives stands apart from other life sims.

There was a new update yesterday with some small new features and a few bugfixes. Players now have 40 aditional images for the frame artwork.

This may be a small update, but it is very telling about the team's ambitions. I like how consistent the team is with the bug fixes.

For me personally, the art IS why I play. It has everything I loved about sims 3, nothing I hated, and live mode is getting better each week.

I'm not giving up on it. It's Early Access, so like Inzois problems, it gets a pass for me for that. I bought TS4 on release and gave up on it after about a month. I'd still rather play Inzoi or Paralives over that crap game(my opinion because of TS3s open world.)

@kennyinbmore fair. I've been saying since the game dropped that if bug hunting & troubleshooting aren't your jam, you need to give paralives a little more time in the oven.

If you're wondering about texture quality for in-game settings, there is a HUGE jump from low to medium, and it's absolutely tiny for medium to high. So if your game is laggy, drop the settings down to medium and you'll still have a pretty game. On low it's a bit meh though. But still very playable. 🙂

They are hiring two more people to the team. I think these listings have been on the site for a while but now they're posting on social media. With all the layoffs in the gaming industry lately, I feel like finding the right fit shouldn't take too long. One can hope

Only 6% of players have refunded the game. Also, without additional costs or taxes, the team earned 39 million canadian dollars. I can only dream of that!

Honestly, I think that the refund percentage is low not because people thought Paralives was a good game, but because of the thought that Paralives has a good foundation for later updates. I have seen these types of comments a lot; people think that this game is beautiful and charming, but that it also has a good foundation or skeleton for putting the meat on.

Don't get me wrong: there are shining aspects of gameplay in Paralives. I have seen a lot of videos about the gameplay. The quests are nice, there are useful collectibles, parafolk have some sense of personality etc.

I am starting a new neighborhood in TS2. One of the fixed characters in any of my 'hoods is a vicar so I made him and, after he survived the onslaught of the welcoming party, sent him to 3+1 to buy a cell phone. While there he greeted everyone he could (after all, that's his job); one of the Sims he greeted was Christy Stratton and it was love at first sight, three bolts and hearts all over the place. AFAIK I've never played her or even paid her much attention in any of my older games - she seemed such a colorless character. Obviously I was wrong and now she's well on her way to become a vicaress (???).

This is the kind of surprise I want to see in my game and it is, of course, all based on personality. I hope that Paralives will reach this level one day but until then I'll play it from time to time to see what is new but mostly, I'll just be waiting.
