This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise
Default Launching/loading takes over an hour!
I haven't played TS3 since May 2022. When I last played in May 2022, it took maybe 20 minutes tops to load a save, from opening Origin to launching the game to loading the save. I have not added anything to the game since then, but now that same launching/loading timeframe is over an hour (February 2023)! I even deleted 2 saves, and that didn't help. My computer has been defragged several times throughout the last year. I have attached my specs. I do have the NRAAS error trap, but couldn't find the error trap accessory file people have suggested deleting, so I'm not sure I have it or not. Could this have anything to do with Origin not being supported by EA any longer? Any hints, suggestions, tips or information would be most appreciated!

If you haven't already try deleting everything mentioned here: https://forums.thesims.com/en_us/di...u-delete-in-ts3

Also, if you haven't got any CC to install, you can bypass the launcher. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
Locate TS3.exe and create a shortcut on your desktop. When you click this it launches the game without having to open the launcher.

Thank you for the tips! I always have done the first set of deletions after every play session. I haven't been doing the rest, and I tried them. Unfortunately, there was no reduction in load times, and my game is starting to crash. I don't have the time or patience to wait over an hour every time, so I think I need to come up with a different solution, or just stop playing altogether. I don't know what changed between May 2022 and February 2023 to make the game basically unplayable for me, but it is what it is. Thanks again!

On that note, I have installed a lot of CC content that I ultimately don't use or like. Is there a program that will show what the content looks like so I can delete it? I don't know the file names of the content, so I need to visually see it to determine if I keep or delete.

I have many files in my bin, but none with the file name TS3.exe. Could it be named something else, or found elsewhere?

If you are playing an Origin or EA App controlled game on Windows, then you are on Patch 1.69 and the Launcher bypass would not be possible anyway. That only works for 1.67 (disc or Steam) installs.

My question would be, are you getting the ridiculously long loading time on a particular game save or does the same thing happen if you try to start a new one?

I did an experiment. The save I'm trying to play takes 45 minutes to load from the screen you select new or saved game. A brand new game took 25 minutes to load, and another existing save also took 25 minutes.

On the save I'm trying to play, once loaded, it takes upwards of 10 minutes to save after playing for a while. And as often as not, it crashes after I try to make some Sim updates in CAS and go back to the household I'm playing. So, in short... ugh. Last year, I don't think a new game took more than 5-10 minutes to load, and existing saves no more than 15-20.

Would CC Magic work with all the EPs and SPs I have? It looks like it wasn't updated past 2012. Based on description though, It appears I could use that to visually see my CC and delete what I don't want/need. I assume much of the lag is due to my high amount of CC.

Assuming you don't have known to be problematic mods that are breaking your game, let's then extend the test if we could. Remove or rename your TS3 user game folder from where it is in Documents. A new one should spawn to take its place on the next attempted startup of the game. Back out, set up your Mods Framework again, and install only a minimal number of mods (like NRaas MC, Overwatch, ErrorTrap, Traffic). Any different or better on starting a new game on the no-content game folder?

You can always put the original one that has all of your other content and game saves back into place after testing. User game folders are meant to be able to be swapped out like this. Or if the new game folder behaves exponentially better, you can keep it and slowly begin adding your other content back into it hopefully stopping short before you reach overload again.

We should also be looking deeper into your hardware setup as the cover page of that dxdiag doesn't tell us what the entire report might have. If you have a strong enough graphics card, is it (still) capped to the frame rate of your monitor, meaning 60 fps assuming a 60 Hz monitor, and can you verify that in-game with the fps on cheat code? These kinds of things can become undone over time with Windows and GPU driver updates having taken place.

I did the first step by removing the existing game folder. The initial launch took no more than 2 minutes, and opening/starting a new game took 2 minutes for one world, 4 minutes for another to fully load. That was with all my NRAAS mods but zero other CC or mods. I will now have to decide what to do with all my CC content - start over, add back bit by bit, reinstall the original saved game folder, or some combo thereof. I don't really understand the fps on cheat code steps you mentioned, but thanks for the help!
