This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
EA App stole my expansions
About two months ago, the Origin would no longer let me launch TS3 unless I switched to the EA App. So I agreed, and once installed, it didn't recognize any game files, so I acted impatiently and uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Everything but the last two released EPs and the last SP can't seem to reinstall. Whenever I try, it "Preparing" status goes on for about 30 minutes and then it gives up. I've tried everything, followed all the suggestions on every EA help forum I can find, even hard wiped my system with a factory reset. Building in the Sims is my stress relief and it's driving me buggy when I want to use something specific and I just can't.

Has anyone else even heard of this issue? Even just pointing me in the direction of a discussion thread would be helpful. Thank you.

Although someone here may know, I must ask, did you post on EA?

I have the exact same issue.

The EA Help forum has been pretty useless, they've been compiling all posts about EA app issues to one masterpost so it's very hard to follow what each OP ended up doing/finding out

Anyway, Pixie_child, I was able to download Origin thin and despite the ridiculous EA app popup barring me from navigating the program, I can see past it and it's apparently downloading things in the background. Apparently. It's currently verifying my game files and downloading content, so far it downloaded a Dragon Age Origins special edition (or smthn like that). I'll report back to let you know if it downloads my missing sims EPs.

Edit-- It's going through all of my DA games and DLC. Boy oh boy, I hope it keeps this energy for sims 3.
Also I'm cursing the EA APP with all my energy die die die die die die die (<-- german for 'the the the the the the the', I'm not being violent, dw)

Edit 2-- It's verifying my sims medieval files, I believe it will go through my sims 3 stuff. I'll let u know if it fixes anything

edit 3-- nope, that didn't do it.

I truly give credit to the folks at EA. No one could have thought there would ever be anything worse than Origin, but they proved that to be wrong!

Just one more reason to love all disk!!!

were you able to install those EPs? I [finally] got it to install. In case you havent:
  • delete everything Origin from your machine. (I.e. uninstall from the built-in windows menu thingy)
  • Download Origin Mint installer. I have the .exe file I got from the EA help forums, i can see if I can post here for you if you can't find it.
  • When reinstalling origin, leave "auto update" selected
  • Log in and wait. Origin should go through your library updating/checking for uninstalled DLC and downloading/installing those
And that's it
It took literal minutes once I got Origin going
Since february. I was trying on the EA app. Done in minutes
It really is a program of all time
