I live in an area where it can go from -45F in the dead of winter to 90+F in the summer. Even in the winter you wear different layers depending if it's 20F or -30F. Is there a way to make my sims wear different outerwear automatically depending how cold it is. If it's -40, you are not going to wear spring jacket, and you are not going to wear a big coat at 10F or 20F. I would rather wear my spring jacket.
Same with Summer, Have different wear whether it's summer or Spring/Fall. Shorts and short sleeves/tank/bikini top for everyday summer and pants and long sleeves in the spring as everyday clothing. My sims should automatically know what to wear.

The game is coded that if the temp drops below a certain temperature it will trigger the event of changing clothes into the winter outfit. It will trigger parasols/umbrellas and gloves being applied. Now I have searched the gameplay kind of looking for different triggers within the game files because even with Seasons toddler do not have a swimwear option. I have enabled it but can't get it to trigger..So with the use of mods I was able to accomplish this.

With the dresser you can add up to 3 additional outfits to each category. The only way you will be able to have them switch within those categories is with mods.

So the following mods might help you accomplish this

Outfit Changer Mod: https://modthesims.info/d/588632/outfit-changer.html (a mod to help you be able to change into outfits without having to go into CAS or to a dresser)

Example: I figured out how to enable swimwear for toddlers, I placed the dresscode sign at my beach in game, set it to swimwear. Now when everyone goes to the beach they walk through an entrance changing room and the mod triggers them to change into swimwear.

@Igazor can explain better the Nraas Dresser functionality. I think that mod has a rotational outfit feature.
