Default WCIF a very old challenge w/downloadable house and trash
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction for this. I'm looking for a very old challenge, back when challenges were a fairly new thing on MTS. There was a house included in the challenge. The house and lot were full of trash piles, and the house itself needed "repairs". The goal of this challenge, as much as I can remember, was to clean out the trash while not getting killed by flies, which happened on one play through, fix up the house, and I guess advance in career and start a family. I'm not at all sure of that last part. I AM sure of the trash, though.

The couple that came with the house was white, the house was a two story, there was a pergola type structure in the back yard, on the right side of the yard, a few trees near it, some paver stones out to the pergola structure, with some missing. No driveway. Not sure if the challenge predates NL's introduction of cars.
Thanks for any help!

@Apriltini, I found this house which is connected to the Messie Messlot Challenge. The challenge only asks for one sim, not a couple so it's probably not what you remember but it sounded fun so I downloaded it. Watching my 9-point neat sim try to make friends with the welcome wagon while training their pigpen dog while trying to earn enough money for a comfortable bed has been pretty fun! I don't know how many sim days it will take to get the weeds cleared and hedges trimmed but my sim is adorably frustrated with their trashy house
I recommend playing this in a throwaway hood since a trashy lot has usually been previously inhabited (not criticizing @aelflaed, we just didn't know enough in 2008). I think adding a previously inhabited lot to your hood is a bad idea since the lot will have remnants of the builder's sim that your game can't find - it can result in neighborhood corruption.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, there is a lot we didn't know back then. It's amazing how much the modding and cc community has advanced over the years. I'll definitely take your advice about a throwaway hood if I ever try the house you mentioned or if I can find the one I'm looking for. Hopefully someone knows something.

There are ways now to clean lots like the Messie Messlot ones. I haven't tried doing that, myself, but playing the house in a 'test' hood would certainly avoid any problems the leftover references might cause. It was always a fun challenge to play!

There used to be a lot on MTS made by Numenor himself, which included an actual sim resident. Those were the days.

I honestly think the idea that previously occupied lots could cause problems is a bit of a myth, in line with the other myths about corruption. I've never heard of what the actual reason was that people thought these leftover resources caused corruption, or heard of a case of corruption being caused by them.

I tend to agree, but it's good that we now have ways to be sure, if anyone is worried about it.
