They probably just moved the options to different menus in the English version, then, and forgot to do that for other languages.

objects.package is exactly the same as in the original game, they didn't make any changes. These options are simply not there, they aren't in the different menus. I even compared the mailbox code in SimPE to make sure.

Omg, I'm so sorry for misleading, you're right! I'm just stupid. I checked once again and compared English and English UK, it looks like this problem has always been in the game, it's not a Legacy issue. Options are in different menus depending on English localizations, I'm just bad at finding them 🤦

Ok, thanks for clarifying. It would be pretty weird if they could change something like that without modifying objects.package, I don't think any of those strings are hardcoded in the exe. It is often a source of confusion that there are two completely different English localizations for the game, especially when SimPE is defaulting to using the one that isn't being used by your game.

Every time a new baby character file is created (so far I've only noticed this with babies) and the player exits the game without saving, the character file is not deleted and remains in the game. This can lead to a myriad of babies visible in SimPE when births are repeated.

(not my screenshot, but it happens in my game too)

Wait, so if you reload a birth because you wanted a specific gender, then the previous baby stays in the game files? That would really suck.

Oh, rechecked topic title. I don't need to worry about it if it's a Legacy bug. XD I was surprised that noone had mentioned that over the years.

Exactly.

And apparently, the game can use these baby character files for newly generated Sims... Here is a repairman from the game of one of the members of the Marticore's group on FB 😆

From the discussion it may be related to the tour guide and might be fixed with MATYs spawn and anti-redundancy hacks. But someone said those mods didn't work. The only thing that does work is deleting the entire vacation world. It might be connected to the "too many iterations error". It might also affect owned business.

I looked at an error log from that, and it was happening because the family inventory was full of a huge number of tokens, which is probably due to the Manage Inventory bug. Someone also confirmed that their family inventories were being filled up with magazine subscription tokens on the EA forums. So I think this is probably just a result of that bug putting people's neighborhoods into this state earlier. This is already on the list as the too many iterations error when visiting a community lot.

I wonder when and if they'll patch these issues. This bug has broken almost the entire Bon Voyage expansion. Sims 1 Legacy is also suffering from crashing and I've yet to see a patch.

I have that problem on occasion with retail. Alt+tabbing issue I think.

They can't patch it. It's a problem with the neighborhood. They already fixed the Manage Inventory bug, but that doesn't retroactively go and empty out all the inventories it messed up before that happened.

So if that error has been fixed, is there now a misinformation problem? Why don't they notify people that they have to restart their neighborhoods. xD Are more things like what is mentioned above about Bon Voyage still broken? I'm curious to know the current state of Legacy, I hope they continue releasing the necessary patches.

They did tell people to start a new save.

This has nothing to do with Bon Voyage, this same function is called whenever sims go to a community lot, too.
