I was going to just keep playing and hope those straggler issues don't cause anything too bad.. unless the clean templates can easily fix those without me starting over.

Clean templates replace the Maxis main neighborhoods. They won't have any effect on existing already-played neighborhoods, only newly played ones. Unfortunately.

Is it recommended to have all (every single one) downloaded? I'm in the process of downloading everything on these lists, and I mean EVERYTHING. Just want to make sure!
Also, thank you so much this is extremely valuable. I appreciate all the work that's gone into this.

Just wanted to say a big BIG thank you to you Jawusa, HugeLunatic, TeaAddict, SimNopke and Lamare, as well as all the other modders out there who are also providing fixes, for all your hard work and efforts! Putting this list together will help so many players! You guys are doing the work that should've been done by a certain game publisher - who shall not be named because at this point they don't deserve any credit, recognition or acknowledgement but I digress - long before the games were re-released. Bravo!

Agree! Could NOT play this game without these mods, particularly all the hard work Pescado & crew put into identifying and fixing issues for years and years.

I read this page for correlated skins the other day because I kept reading that custom skins weren't working in legacy. I'm a new old player who hasn't played in over a decade and trying to re-learn everything lol. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but am I correct in thinking Phaenoh's correlated skins aren't the actual default skins, just a template? If that is the case, it's way over my head! I'm just wanting default skins to install on legacy, any suggestions? Sorry if this answer is elsewhere, I'm just very overloaded with the sheer amount of content this game has for me to research!

Their page is both, BUT, if you scroll down to the bottom, they have links to some other ones. But the other thing is that if you search for correlated skins on the web, even more will come up.

Caveat: nobody has yet done a default skintone set for the custom haircolour, so it will just use the base game skins. Also, experimenting tells me that if you change their hair colour their head will go to a different colour, but their head will revert to the correct colour on age change, so that can be used to fix the problem. Or you could just stick with their natural colour for their entire life. Regardless, it's something to bear in mind.

Thanks for responding! I have a couple CC sims in game and was able to make a new sim using the custom skins that those other downloaded sims brought into the game. Everyone has been saying that they're unable to use cc skin because they are not able to click the check mark or even the X. However I was able to! Idk if something has changed regarding cc skins, but it's working for me. Kind of scared to put much in my game because I spent 2 days putting cc in game and I literally couldn't play. The game would kick me out as soon as I went to do anything after loading my neighborhood. So I took the folder out and started new, very very slowly this time lol. I just got too excited and it backfired.
Is there an easier way to buy clothes without having to go to a shopping district??

There are several mods that lets you buy clothes from home - the Insimenator/SimBlender/SimManipulator all have the option, and people tend to have at least one of those anyway since they have a ton of other uses, so those are good options.

This one as the option to shop clothes at home for free - nice if you're doing a big haul:

(I mostly use the Wardrobe Adjuster item that comes with the Insimenator, the clothes are not free, but I don't mind adding some money before doing the shopping).

Ya, I was hesitant to try one of the coat rack or Monique's computer, because I wasn't sure if it would work. It's not on this list.

Monique's computer can sometimes cause conflicts with other mods, it is a safe mod, but there are people who don't use it for that reason, myself included.

I doubt the coat rack would conflict with much, and if it did, it's not one that would cause a bfbvfs of any kind. It's an object mod, doesn't have any memories or whatever attached to it, so you can just remove it and the trouble is gone.

There are tons of mods, and it would be difficult to check all of them up against each other, or re-test all of them with the Legacy game. This is a list of essential and other useful mods, and it's only a scratch on the surface of all the mods people have made. Just because a mod isn't on this list doesn't mean it won't work. A lot of mods aren't in the essential category for the game's health, but instead do more for fixing various annoyances, adding gameplay elements, or what have you.

So, aren't there also mods that stop Mrs. Crumplebottom from turning into a vampire or befriending her through networking or whatever? (I had someone want to introduce me to Santa Klaus) I don't know if the object npc patches are already listed, some of them aren't fully explained without doing some digging.

This is a great list. I have most of them already, but there's a few I should grab that I never did for some reason. Just one thing I noted, I no longer need the shadowfix, the shadows seem to have been fixed by EA.

Hi, I don't know if I can put this question here, there is a new February patch for sim2, but I don't know if it's for legacy or for ultimate collection, can you clarify this for me? Thanks

WOW, I am impressed with this list! I have been playing since the Sims 1 in 2000 and some of these fixes blow my mind as I didn't know there was a bug in the first place. LOL
Thank you! I will be going through this list after I get done playing as I have been waiting all day to git to play..

This new video from Antisocial Bunny just dropped explaining how to search for custom content. I've been playing sims for 20 years and this is still an useful resource.

Is there any updates on the playablitiy of Clean UI? I currently have it and am troubleshooting why my game constantly crashes. Curious if this is what's causing the issues!?

Wow, this is overwhelming. All these mods are considered 'essential'?? That seems crazy to me. Anyway, on a more constructive note, have all these mods listed been tested on Legacy Collection and are they all needed for Legacy Collection (that is to say, none have been made redundant)?
