Default WCIF a mod to fix the plumbot Steel Chef trait?
I’m not sure if this exists, but I’m looking for a mod that stops Steel Chef plumbers from cooking so much. (My plumbot has been making three or four group servings of dishes and no one is even hungry!)

I found one on Nexus mods that has this function, but it seems to work by tethering plumbots to a custom docking station and preventing them from wandering around when they’re not working. I don’t want that feature, so I’m hoping there’s a mod that just tweaks the illogical behavior.

My Simblr is FakeHouses|RealAwesome

I rarely give bots the steel chef chip, but do give them limitless learning, and they can learn to cook. Not sure if that will change what they do in your scenario, but could bbe worth trying.

I just tested this, using the limitless learning trait chip, of course.

I had my bot go to the library where there are free skill books and the bot read up to level 10 Cooking.

Then to get recipes I had the bot watch the Cookin Channel using this mod Learn Cooking Recipes by Watching TV!
no books clutter the bot's inventory, although for some reason the bot wasn't going up cooking levels with this mod which is why I had the bot go to the library.

This is a fast way to make your bot a skilled cook to replace Steel Chef, though they still have to cook a number of meals to reach the skill challenges.

Yea, I wasn't 100% sure, but my bots tend to watch a lot of TV autonomously, and cooking channel seems a favorite. I've had them cook, and meal quality was okay. But, I mostly use my bots as nanny bots, handy bots and maid bots! I play vampires, so there's not much need for steel chef bot.

Same here. I use the bot for handy jobs, and maybe maid with some non autonomous mods installed to keep them from putting away pet toys and other things. I might have to try the nannybot soon as I'm thinking of introducing a family with tots.

I thought your cooking idea was interesting so I tried it. Turned out my bot already had a couple of skill levels in cooking, lol. What do they get up to when we aren't around? So now we have a chef bot without the aggravation that comes with the steel chef chip.

Thank you so much! This is a very smart workaround, and I think that will work perfectly.

Thanks for the mod recommendation! Combined with the tip about using Limitless Learning instead of Steel Chef, I think this should solve my problem.

This is FemmeBot Alice. I have used her as my nannybot almost from the time I figured out how to make these bots. She is posted in "female sims pics". A little mythology... She was the Red Queen's top general in The Great FemmeBot Revolt that happened... happens, sometime "Into The Future". Her eye was damaged during single combat. She won, of course, but she leaves it to remind her of her being so careless.

She has robo nanny, limtless learning, handibot, capacity to love, simulated emotions, efficient, and the 7th chip varies as to what I need her to do. Like most bots, she swims too often, and watches TV, although that was how I saw she could learn cooking skill. She also will autonomously teach to walk, teach to talk, change diapers and feed. You must direct to potty train or read with.

Wow, she is awesome!

Was it difficult to make her appear as a hybrid?

Thanks. It took me a while to develop the FemmeBots. They are 100% Plumbots, and assembled in the bot shop from parts, like any Plumbot, including the head and hair. I am still trying to improve hair texturing. I still haven't managed to get all facial bones to work. I may return to that project some day, but the current head model works well. My newest bots use CAS skin tones and eyebrows, but the hair is a bot part. If you try to use CAS hair, the head will disappear, because CAS hair is the same part as the bot head! My bots are one piece bodies, so I use the arms slot for hair. You can use CAS make up and accessories. ))) This is my 3rd incarnation of Alice. She is a converted MMD model, original by Kuroyu on DeviantArt. My bots were made to work with KW, and are kinda NC17... so they're on a naughty site.

So you are basically making bot parts that use meshes, textures, and hair that are normally like regular sim parts. That's cool. I like that they are still 100% plumbots.

Thanks, yes, 100% Plumbot. Also, I found an old thread by Bloombase that explains how to add more mesh groups. Alice's body is 5 mesh groups. She uses 3 different shaders (simskin, bot shine and bot glow), and totals more than 61 bones. I learned that polycount doesn't matter much, since bots don't have morphs, so most, if not all mesh detail is kept from the MMD conversion. They're fun to work on.
