Arctic sky mod and yellow/warm streetlights?
Hey guys.
I am looking for specific things... I tried searching around before with not much luck... I wonder if these items even exist?

First, I am looking for some kind of sky or lighting mod that makes the sky look more like the Arctic. I don't mean the aurora borealis, I mean something like this:

This might just look like overcast weather, but it is a phenomenon called water sky. Here's more info on it:
https://mallemaroking.org/water-sky/
I haven't tested it, but maybe this can be achieved with weather effects from winter, or Outdoor Lighting Tweaks (haven't used it in over a decade). Possibly Environment Lighting Tweaks.

But most importantly, I would like to achieve this distinctive 'pink-orange' tone:

I have no idea how to mimic this effect.

I would also like to find yellow/warm streetlights. They are still common where I live and I always noticed that The Sims had bright, white streetlights instead... I don't recall there being an option to change the colour of streetlights in TS3 , but maybe there is custom content like this?

Thank you for the help.

Not sure this is exactly what you’re looking for, as I have never seen it, but it might help.

As for street lights there are a few threads here on how you can change the colour, just Google it, there is a bit of reading

Thanks, I'll have to check these threads.
You linked me to a Tempest preset, I've come across it before but lost the URL so thank you for sending it to me either way.

I don't know if it will change the colour of the sky, though. I have to test it later.

I wanted some kind of lighting or sky box that makes the sky look pink during sunset/dusk, and maybe a way to achieve a 'water sky' effect.

Like this:

The phenomenon below almost looks like it's overcast, but the colour is more greyish. I might experiment with weather settings to simulate it. I am more interested in mimicking the other images, because they look cool.

I came across lighting mods that make the game look excessively saturated all the time, and from what I saw there isn't one that makes the sky look pink... the lighting tends to be bluish. What I want is a temporary effect anyway, something that appears in specific times.

Yesterday I discovered this:
https://modthesims.info/d/453212/tr...s-at-night.html
It seems like this mod does have 'pinkish' skies depending on the time of day, but the effect is very subtle and I actually need the opposite of this mod - instead of imitating the 'sunrays' from a tropical island, I would need something that makes the game look colder. Ultimately it looks a bit too yellow for the idea I have in mind. I will use it for future saves though.

Brntwaffles' mod could work in theory, because in one of their examples, the 'cloudy sunrise' is kinda similar to what I would like to achieve. The thing is that the rest of the lighting is too saturated for me.

I wonder if I'll have to mess with ini files or CAW? I've never tried...

Did you see brntwaffles's Frozen lighting? It's intense, too much for me, but it might be closer? https://www.tumblr.com/brntwaffles/...e-film-frozen-i

Oh yeah, I didn't see that one I think! It's very intense but maybe there's a way to make it less bright? Thanks for trying to help me as well ^^

No problem! I'm using their Darker Midnight Dream lighting, and it's very cool/bluer (especially compared to the Moonrise one) and dark, and the sunsets are very pink. A lot of red skies, so it's more "colorful spooky" but I'm enjoying it. I did have to edit one of the files to reset the longer days since I use Tempest, but it was easy with simpe.

This looks cute, I could try something like this for my Arctic save or another one. It indeed looks spooky and gave me some ideas.
I suppose I can tinker with settings and experiment. I was considering using Tempest to change daylight and weather settings too...
Thanks
