Default Sims 4t2 Object Conversion Showing Up as Invisible in the Game
Hi!
I have been trying to convert a maxis match plant from Sims 4 to Sims 2 by following several tutorials, but no matter what I do, the object is invisible in the game. It appears in SimPE, and its description does show up in the game, but not the object itself. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated

Could be a few things, but most likely an issue with either the mesh (make sure the mesh you swapped in SimPE ends up with the same subset name as the original mesh had) or the texture resources (if you've done anyting other than swapping the texture in the TXTR resource, a lot of things have the potential to go wrong, usually in at least one out of five resources related to the texture).

Renaming resources can also cause this, if done improperly.

Bit of a guesswork to figure it out without looking at the file. Can you upload the item (".package" file)?

I think it's the ' in the internal name that causes the problem. In the MMAT, this one shows up as a question mark.

For internal filenames (when doing "Fix Integrity" or setting up a new file), only use letters and numbers, with - as spacers. Other characters (and spaces) can occasionally cause trouble.

[ ] If SimPE adds anything in brackets, is safe to keep the full bracket part (name, date, periods, string of numbers, etc.), and you can do small edits inside it, but don't add extra brackets. Can sometimes mess with the recolors or file.

_ turns into . (the . works, but can cause the occasional issue with recolors or if you clone the file) so avoid both to be safe.

Anything SimPE doesn't like can cause the filename to "corrupt" by replacing the offending character with a different character (in your case a question mark), and if the resource isn't read correctly, you can get issues with the file not showing properly ingame. Apparently the MMAT doesn't translate the ' properly, so definitely avoid that one.

You'd be better off using something like this (only using - as spacers)
4t2-smitten-kitten-feline-florals-[7a981d77-5d61-47ea-96e4-18f509369f45]-small

The MMAT doesn't want to recognize that particular version of the ' so the best option is probably to do "Fix Integrity" on the file to fix the internal filenames elsewhere, and then copy the new string and manually edit those two values in the MMAT (the rest of the file should be fixed automatically).

Thank you so much! I changed the name, and it showed up in my game. I appreciate the tips, as I am a beginner.
