does anyone have any recommendations for some colourful hair cc. I'm specifically trying to find like pinks purples and blues etc but i really seem to be unable to find any haha

Try the hair database- look for a style you like and then see if there are unnatural recolours. As this might be a bit daunting, I like to use it in conjunction with an internet search- for example, search for " "Sims 2" long hair female", and when you see one you like, check the creator of the mesh, and look it up in the hair database for other colours.
