Batman & Robin (USA, 1997)
This was supposed to be a big, flashy Batman movie, but it ended up being remembered mostly for the neon colors, terrible ice puns, and those infamous bat-nipples on the suits. Even actors like George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Uma Thurman couldn’t save it from the chaos.

My comment: It looks like a two-hour toy commercial mixed with a cartoon. The movie is so goofy it almost feels like a parody of Batman instead of a real film.

Rating: 3/10

The Avengers (1998). 9/10.This is the one based on the popular British TV series (of which I am a big fan) featuring Ralph Fiennes as Steed and Uma Thurman as Mrs Peel. And I just knew that, having thoroughly enjoyed this film, that I would look it up on-line afterwards and find that it was a box office flop and was thoroughly panned by the critics. Happens every time! I suppose I just have lousy taste in movies and ought to be embarrassed about it. Well, I have said before that I am no critic, and therefore see no reason why I should pay any attention to critics. If I am entertained, that is enough for me. And I was, so there!

Legend is history as we would like it to be. We pick through the dusts of time for what is worth keeping and, here and there, we occasionally find treasure.

S.W.A.T. (2003) 7/10.
Always rewatchable even if ridiculous things happen - I think older movies were better with suspesion of disbelief than newer movies.

Dead Man's Wire (2025) 9/10.
I actually took myself to the cinema for this guys and it cost me m o n e y. Definitely worth it though because the acting was fantastic! Each character represented different moods (I think): anger (pyschotic break??), anxiety, determination, confusion, disdain - they all did a great job. There were some parts where I had to cringe real hard because secondhand embarassment is real but made sense in the story so I allow it. What I didn't expect was to see show news footage from the real event at the end of the movie and I think it shows that they really studied that scene.

I am right now rewatching "The Man from Earth", and it is still one of the most brilliant low budgets movies out there.
The 7.8 rating is well deserved.
It is in my top ten of all times, including movies like Donnie Darko, Léon: The Professional, and such.

War of the Worlds (2005) - DVD. Certainly spectacular and the better for sticking closer to Wells' original concept and story than the 1953 classic did. 8/10

Fast X (20whatever)

Franchise went from cars crime and family (but fun) to whatever it is that they're doing now (not fun). I'm just doing to believe in the first 4 movies and just ignore the others
