Meet the Antalls!

I actually got a wishing well without cheats / hacks to make it happen. Holy crap, that's insane!.

Cinnabuns' first day as a mother.

Day 1 of being a new mom: Oh! I'm so happy! Isn't he so cute? What a delightful bundle of joy i have brought into the world!
Day 2 of being a new mom: My god! Why did I ever think having kids was a good idea?! This is horrible! No one warned just how bad it would be! I've been puked on, spat on and my god the smell! The smell! Have you ever smelt babies poo? Oh my god! There's nothing like it! Oh, and it top it off I didn't get any sleep and I have a raging headache! NEVER AGAIN!

Michi Deare, town's newest inhabitant and undercover FBI agent (though a newbie) is on her mission to find out a) late Hank Keller's secrets and b) her missing cat.

Today, she had to investigate another missing cat case. Some would say it's a stupid assignment. Michi is excited (and paranoid) - what if this case and her own missing cat are connected? She volunteered to interview the family and failed at it, and didn't receive the day's pay - but she still got promoted! (Chance cards are weird).

After work, Michi went in her own investigation and visited the cheese factory (and definitely not the criminal warehouse) where bunch of interesting things happened.
Cherry and Tyson Kellers walked in like they owned the place (could they?), and soon were joined by Lydia Livingston, current mayor, and Kevin Cudler, her campaign manager. They were followed by Kevin's husband Gerry Romm. Tyson and Gerry got into an argument, but Michi could not figure out the substance of it. As soon as she greeted Cherry, she and Tyson left.
Michi chatted with Gerry and Kevin, and got along with them wonderfully. Their short term relationships went up to 20s after just one greeting.
Right before Michi left, Alvin Warren arrived. He was later seen hanging out with Grace Brown, Hank Keller's granddaughter.
What is going on? Why are two cats missing? Is Cherry Keller running her father's criminal empire? Why did Lyla Flores, Hank's widow, "walk her cat" right in front of Michi's house? And was it Sylvia Flores, Lyla's sister and Hank's former employee, who dug through Michi's garbage this morning?
Is Michi up to something or is she loosing her mind?

Oh, dear, what have I done now?

As I moved in a young couple into a house (brand new, built it myself) - I noticed a sim inside.

He had not joined the family (no portrait), which means I could not have moved him in accidentally (there wasn't time to do anything yet anyway).

He is dressed as a waiter and cleaned up after my sims, but they can only have normal interactions with him (saying good-bye caused him to leave and return within a split second).


I sent my sims to bed at the end of the day and he is lying on the sofa, does not look as if he has any intention to go home.

Now I had my share of nannies moving in and other glitches, but what the heck is this?

I often do stupid things, but this time, I just did not have time for stupid things?

@Justpetro That is strange! I've never had that happen, keep us updated as to what happens!

I am thinking about things I can do.

Add a bed and see if he uses it (he seems comfy on the sofa, but clearly has no intention of leaving)
Turn him into a townie (and see if he leaves)?
Make him selectable and let him stay there a while

Today in my game I decided to 'challenge' myself to a 10 minute build. This lot proves I can do a decent looking lot within that time, but it also proves that I use a lot of my time putting finishing touches on my lots and less on floor plans:

Well, in the end I just moved the family out and in again (as I did once when the nanny decided to never leave).

As for the sim, his name is Gary and he IS a waiter; I found him in SimPE! The game must have glitched and thought the kitchen was a restaurant (NO idea why, all I can see is normal vanilla game stuff).

He kept cleaning after meals and watching TV and interacting with my sims and they quite liked him. He also entertained himself and liked to browse on the PC.

Unfortunately, he decided to burn the kitchen down. Goodbye, Gary.

Have you placed any items related to restaurants or serving food on the lot (anything that would spawn staff on a community lot - check CC items, too)?
Something similar happened to me once - saw a waiter running around where he shouldn't have been, and turned out the restaurant items I'd put in my residential hospital lot (which was never intended to be a working restaurant) was spawning staff. They appeared to be running a restaurant with invisible customers.
Last time I did that mistake (switched the items with non-staff-spawning items, and/or found deco versions)... Especially annoying since this was the biggest lot I had, one that caused pink-flashing nearly every time I used it. I doubt having extra sims on the lot helped.

Is she related to angry baby or do all sim babies have huge mouths in that thing? XD

Honestly, the only item even close to being a restaurant item is the dining table, which I use in most of my homes because it has a tablecloth, and for which I have a lot of recolors.

I built the house myself, it started out on a residential lot, is a very simple house (I would not even upload it) and the only "decor" is the items from Lamare's supplies and laundry mods, recolors, walls and floors and some store and preorder items, which I often use. Hair and clothes nothing that I don't often use either.

I also tested a copy of the lot quickly in another hood and no waiter spawned.

It was fun while it lasted If it happens again, I guess a 50/50 may be in order or something, but I have not actually added new cc for a while now. (I downloaded, but that is not the same as added )

Sigh. I have a long list of CC I've downloaded and not got around to adding. XD

I just noticed that Sim Sample has a new, artistic picture. And is that a lip ring he's wearing?

My collection is taking over my computer - I likely have several GBs worth of CC I haven't put into my game (wouldn't be surprised if my entire collection touches upon a terrabyte or two, at the very least. I've got a lot spread all over - and it's only barely organized )



Could've been a "brought home from work" type of sim/NPC, with some quirks attached, similar to mascots. Maybe one with very high neat points.
If you have mods that limit NPCs and townies, maybe a game quirk made a NPC jump along with the welcome wagon because the game didn't find another sim.

The easiest explanation would be if there was an item that took the role of the waiter's podium, though with your explanation it does seem unlikely. A neat thing with these items is that the spesific staff associated with them gets removed if you delete the items, so if this was the case, you'd immediately know if an item was the culprit.



They do, if they're crying - but it's anytime they're unhappy, baby toys or not.

Yes, Cinnabuns and Scrachensniff (angry baby) are full siblings, although Scrachensniff was adopted by another family.


It's a really, really old picture, I used to have about 10 or so avatars with Sim Sample on that I used to cycle. But I seem to forget to do it now! He does have a lip ring, he had one in the previous avatar too.

I honestly don't know!

The waiter was there before my sims set foot (feet?) in their new home themselves. The welcome wagon arrived a bit later, and the waiter ate lunch with all of them (and then cleaned up).
I have all the townies and all the social group townies in my hood.

I had been playing a new Strangetown just for fun, playing very fast and loose, and I thoroughly messed up all the characters' lives, but when Johnny and Jill both died (in separate incidents) I called it quits. I then thought to put in my older Strangetown save, which is pretty far advanced--the original teens are now in the elder stage--but I play it slow and mostly story-based. It was nice to see all my beloved Strangetown Sims as they are meant to be: Johnny and Ophelia celebrating their Golden Anniversary, Tank and Almeric as an old married couple puttering around the Grunt house, and Ripp doing Ripp things--mainly flirting with his best friend Johnny's very young daughter, naughty boy. Also, Tycho Curious and his wife Gvaudoin Tricou, the last of the Tricou vampire clan, living in the House of Fallen Trees downtown with their rather odd children. And my Traveller werewolf clan, with their chaotic, newspaper-stealing activities.

There are a lot of ancillary families in this hood, which is why I think I keep putting it aside for long periods of time. There just seems to be a lot of families to play. But I have been playing some of them, and they have been quite fun to check in on. A lot of the La Fiesta Tech playables are in there. Gunnar Roque is trying to settle down with Olive Specter's old acolyte, Tara Specter, as a married family man but having trouble keeping his romantic urges in check. The Harts also have a troubled marriage: Matthew wants one more child--a son!--but Sarah is beginning to think she settled too soon and is wondering what might have been. And then there is poor Abhijeet Cho, the Beakers' old test subject, who cannot succeed in love no matter how hard he tries. I remembered why I loved this hood so much to keep saving it and going back to it. (If anyone is interested in my stories for this hood, I did post them here , but it's a little out of date now.

Oh no... I made a hot Sim... just for a small challenge... now I wanna keep him. And there's no easy way to save a Sim made in-game! I'm going to have to figure out how to use the SimPE to extract him.

That Sim definitely needs to be extracted. It's very easy, though; you'll probably do it in no time.

I found a nice tutorial to follow, so he should be preserved for future sheaningans! I even packaged him. He does use a couple of pieces of CC though, such as make-up to add face details, custom hair, stubble, eyes and also the Bodybuilder body shape by Beosboxboy and Marvine. So not easy to share. I also have some default skintone and eye replacements but this sim only uses custom stuff.

Oh and I also used a set of custom sliders from here to spice his features up. But I don't think you need the sliders to preserve the facial preset.

In Strangetown:

4 Sims achieved LTWs: Loki, Ophelia, Trent, and Vidcund. Loki and Vidcund were Mad Scientists. Trent was a Space Pirate. Ophelia had a Golden Anniversary.

3 Sims died of old age: Pascal, Loki, and Vidcund. Vidcund achieved his LTW on the day before he died.

There was 1 unnatural death: Ashleigh Curious died after being struck by lightning while on a community lot. She was not even the Sim I was playing at the time. Lazlo Curious, her father, is in the Paranormal career, and resurrected her but did not have the funds. Now there are 2 zombies in Strangetown. (Previously, Loki had made a zombie just for kicks.)

There were oh so many babies born. I lost count. Also two adoptions. Both adopted toddlers were alien foundlings.

There were no weddings, but quite a few Sims were caught cheating. There was one divorce: Gunnar Roque and Tara Specter. There will be more upcoming, I think. The most shocking is probably Clara Grunt being caught flirting with Lazlo Curious by her husband Magnus. Lazlo is the best friend of Clara's mother, Erin Beaker, and was something of a father figure to Clara growing up, since she had a tumultuous childhood. They lost touch for a while and reconnected after the death of Lazlo's wife. Three bolts and ACR spells trouble. There is very much an age difference there, but Clara desperately needs some stability.

Several kids became teens. A few pics from the main Strangetown families are attached.

A few weeks ago I asked for suggestions regarding Mehmet and Michaela's infertility struggles. @AndrewGloria had this suggestion:

As it turns out, one of the new residents in Portland had an affair with Faiza, a married woman(!), who accidentally ended up pregnant. Naturally her husband was furious and she was going to get an abortion to save her marriage. Her father-in-law, however, happened to mention that his best friend's son and his wife were unable to conceive and Faiza decided to have the baby and give it up for adoption. Mehmet and Michaela were thrilled to adopt Suzan and spent most of their time holding and cooing over their new daughter.


At her first birthday party Suzan just got to meet her adopted paternal grandparents and uncles who naturally fussed over her the whole time. So far Suzan loves to play on her rocking moose and eat dog food. (Her parents are now keeping a better eye on her hunger meter to avoid this scenario repeating itself.) Hopefully she'll learn better dietary habits in the future.
