i wish there was a mod that made "dragon valley" style sims show up in other worlds.

no i meant they would be randomly generated by the game, like how i've already got a mod that sometimes gives new townie sims "unrealistic" hair colors. the skin color options are there in CAS of course, but the game only ever generates townie sims with real world skin colors, outside of dragon valley.

This can be achieved with NRaas StoryProgression, specifically with the 'Chance of Bin Offspring' options in the Immigration settings.

Simply have sims of the desired genetics in your household bin, set your desired Chance, and Disallow Bin By House if there are any households you want to omit.
Whenever townies or new households are generated, a random pair of bin sims may be used as their genetic donor.

This can be used for any kind of genetics - supernatural skintones, ethnicity, pointy ears, etc.
With a high or 100% chance, you can have a lot of control over the appearance of new sims.

cool, i'll try that. so i would need to load up dragon valley and save those sims to the library first? i just want to make sure i'm doing it right.

Yes, if they have the genetics you want you can save existing households

Or you can make new households in CAS, if you want options that aren't covered by premade sims.

is there a mod that fixes "splash in pool" interaction during dates? Every time i splash my date in the pool they leave the date its so annoying!! maybe it happens in normal groups too but im too afraid to try lol.

also a mod for sims on public lots with bookshelves to put the books back into the shelf instead of all on tables and floors. and for the dirty dishes on community lots to be cleaned up after too :\ Why no dishwasher on community lots?! D:

thanks for the tip. but it turns out it doesn't matter anyways, i realized after making that comment that i'm not using the story progression mod right now and don't want to go back to it, so i can't even do this anyways.

Here are a few ideas I've had floating around, but do not have the coding knowledge to implement. Most of these involve making the expansions more interconnected.
-Required degrees. To reach the higher levels of certain careers, you'd need a degree. I also use retuner to nerf degrees so they don't get you super rich super fast (An A gives my sims 25% more money and they start at career level 2), so ideally that tuning would be included.
-Time portal prerequisites. Instead of getting the time portal the second you made a new household, you'd need to have invented a time machine and a simbot.
-Variable future. Either the first world you get to being the dystopian one and you have to fix it, or the default future would be adjusted based on the modern world. Like if there's an emporer of evil sim, then the default is dystopian. I get this one would probably be impossible but I can dream.

It has nothing to do with the splash interaction, but more with being in the pool itself. Going into a pool by any of the date participants has a high chance of breaking the date and ending it silently. Your splash might just trigger it early. Same with going into the ocean for a swim. It's a bug that has been around forever. A simple "Swim here" might already break the date.
I assume the game engine treats them as being on different lots or rather in a rabbithole, when doing any in-water-actions, effectively breaking up any date or group automatically.
This will happen very frequently, if only one of the participants enters the water, for example, and the other one stays on the shore or outside the pool. After a short amount of time, the date / group will just silently break apart without any notification.
My advice: Unless it is on your home lot, do not enter any pool or ocean as a date, and even then it is 50/50.
I assume it has to do with the routing. Once one of the sims is in the water and the other cannot find a clear route to them (the inactive Sim will always try to find a way to the active sim, if separated), it treats them as separated (aka a silent "Your Sim is going where the rest of the group cannot follow..."), ending all groups. That even happens when both are in the same body of water.
Also.. do not use splash... it ends up with negative points most of the time. Be nice to your date and not a cave man.

It's a silly bug, but what would S3 be without them.
Same for going to sleep. I cannot possibly count the amount of times I forgot to officially end a date before going to sleep, which will also silently end any date or group. No wishes for that date triggered. Every time that happens I bite into my keyboard, especially when playing challenges under time pressure. I just see my Sim wake up with a "Have a great date with..." wish still active and I am like "F......ck!"
These bugs are totally silly and unnecessary, BUT... if you look at S4 bringing back loading screens for visiting your next door neighbour and S3 granting you the open world, where you can literally walk over to your next door neighbour and peep through their windows, if you so desire... I will choose those pesky little bugs any day. I have played every Sims iteration when they released, but I won't touch S4 with a ten foot pole. The S2 and S4 enthusiasts are bothered by how the Sims look in S3. I find nothing wrong with them, but that is a matter of personal taste, I guess. Just compare the S4 food preparation animations to the S3 ones (and the textures of the final food product), and you know what's what. I prefer my 4 Gig capped open world over anything with loading screens and micro transactions.
How many times have I stopped my cab half way through town in Bridgeport, because I saw an interesting person at the corner of the street. Can't do that in S2 or S4. The ride from A to B in either of them is a loading screen.

As for what I wish existed... hmm.. it would be less a mod, but a tool:
A tool that let's me plug in a .sims3pack file of an exported build and spits out what EP, Pack and store content I used in the build. Basically only official pieces. It would make sharing builds so much easier. I have builds from years ago and I own pretty much all there is to be had in extra content. Since I need to list the extra content used when sharing a build, it is impossible for me to share any. I literally do not know :D

is there a mod that makes it where townie child/teen sims can throw slumber parties? of course, the player-controlled sims can do it, but it would be neat if a player-controlled child or teen sim could be invited to a friend's house for a slumber party.

My wish for today is for a mod that adds the Sims 1 build and buy mode songs into Sims 3's build/buy mode. I recently got back into Sims 1 after like... 20+ years from the first time I played it as a very young child. I've played so much Sims 3 that I've gotten a bit tired of the build/buy songs there, I'd love to have some variety.

The Sims 1 had some really great music. Running it through Broadcaster really helps fill out the neglected Latin station.

We've got one here that replaces and Broadcaster can either make a new station or add it to existing stations but it looks like adding music to the build and buy is more difficult. I know Sims145 did a massive project to add new music to all modes- including build/buy- so it must be possible.

Scrounging the internet is turning up that EA used some propitiatory music format for build/buy rather than .mp3 like they did for 1 and 2.
