Default Grilled Cheese Aspiration mod idea
I was just thinking that it would be nice if the Grilled Cheese Aspiration worked like any other Aspiration, that there would be a wider range of possible Lifetime Wants and much less limited Wants and Fears without a secondary Aspiration.

Would it be possible to "fix" it with a mod or something like that? I know that the Want and Fear tree is a pretty powerful tool at the core of The Sims 2 and modifying it can just cause more problems than anything good, but I just was wondering .

I don't think that Grilled Cheese is supposed to be a 'proper' aspiration. It's supposed to be some sort of mental illness lol.

I used to give my Grilled Cheese Sims the Family secondary aspiration in the hope that it would increase the range of wants and fears. Unfortunately, it didn't do much IIRC. However, what did help was sending them to community lots and on outings/dates, because that did help in getting them to roll standard wants associated with dates/outings, but once you fulfilled them, they start to revert back to the grilled cheese wants.

Also, sending them to uni and getting those extra want slots did help in rolling a few Freetime related wants, like 'Talk about hobby' and so on...

I've always regarded the Grilled Cheese aspiration as a sort of punishment for using the ReNuYuSenso Orb aspiration reward when in low aspiration. (Which I always think is a little unfair, as surely that's when you'll want to change your aspiration!) I don't let my Sims use it below Gold aspiration, so I don't think that's ever happened in my game. If I ever come across a Sim who has generated with a Grilled Cheese aspiration, I think I'd have no hesitation in changing it that seemed appropriate for the Sim concerned

All Sims are beautiful -- even the ugly ones.

In my game, Nick Flores is currently going through his grilled cheese secondary aspiration era because of traumatic near death experience. His current first aspiration is pleasure.
At first, it was manageable, and his wants panel was only slightly cheesy, but then. Agh.
And this is the only context I am willing to play this aspiration. Addiction, mental illness, or cult.

Maybe it would be nice if *other* sims rolled wants about their grilled cheese obsessed loved ones. Like "Nick eats a burger/cake/anything but grilled cheese sandwich", lol. Or to have some interactions like "confront about grilled cheese"/"argue about grilled cheese"

How very dare you all imply that Grilled Cheese aspiration is some sort of mental illness. I'll have you know that Mr. Sim Sample esq. has Grilled Cheese as a secondary to Romance, and he is perfectly normal. Really. He totally is.

Anything you say, SimSample...but I've read where he's not exactly a paragon of virtue, either.

Grilled Cheese is fine as it is, long as the game rolls good Wants. For example, Making Grilled Cheese for Someone is easy 2,500 points, just make Grilled Cheese servings as leftovers and a number of other Sims to eat them.

The Eat Grilled Cheese Want is also overpowered as the game tends to re-rolls to it once fulfilled. I termed the sequence of taking a bite, then cancel, and then resume a bite as Consecutive Normal Eat. Repeat 5 times for cheesy 2,500 points, and quite often I can repeat the sequence for 10 times a dish!

It is more manageable once I started using (and modding it to my likings, a recommendation to everyone) Fewer Hobby Wants mod by SnorkackSearcher. Seriously, keeping those Free Time Wants down make the EP more likeable.

Whatever Grilled Cheese is indicative of mental illness is the least of my concern. If my Grilled Cheese Sims keep getting useful Wants, then I will regard them fairly. Conversely, the actually problematic Aspiration would be Pleasure... What is it and Maxis' choices of low, low scoring Wants (I wish we could edit those Wants without crashing the game) that are also repetitive and line-cutting - picking Pleasure as secondary Aspiration makes whatever the primary feel tertiary... with the exception of Grilled Cheese!

The only thing I like about Pleasure is its tendency to have low Aspiration bar - losers. Loser Sims are usually in the red, and if not, bringing them down to the red is even better. Their miserable cries and tantrums beckon my predatory instinct!

Yes, I could see Sim Sample going for that. I have a neighbourhood with a church to cheese- if you get married there you can have a wedding cake made of cheese!
