To be fair, if you want the proper medieval experience, I would avoid treadmills and the like. Except for maybe a knight (man-at-arms) or nobility, no one had the time (or need) to work out and the concept of fitness aiding machines was non-existent (Knights simply lifted heavy rocks or sand bags). And if you work in the field from dawn to dusk, you gonna get the physique of a truck anyway.
Send your Sim jogging or swimming instead.
I do love that training doll from the post above, though, and that would actually be somewhat realistic, even for a peasant. In England, for example, the common people were required to practice with weapons regularly (I believe it was every Sunday right after church service and more often than not even on the church community grounds), especially archery (just for the case they get conscripted into some new war the king could think of).
If you don't mind being slightly anachronistic, the light as a feather dance bare from the shop can work as well, but ballet did not exist in the middle ages, as such. Dancing was a huge part of peasant life, however.
What also might work, is the PowerMax Health Club Chin-Up Bar, rather than other sports items.
Otherwise, at the end f the day, you can simply add a wood texture to anything.
If you want to browse for other medieval items, I can recommend this German site (I already prefiltered the list for Sims 3 and medieval stuff, but it will also show some stone age and viking items):
Simszoo
Mammut and LadyAtir being really awesome creators for historical stuff. Not sure they ever made an account on here.
But from the helpful reaction on the post above, I can see that Norn is here
They do, for example, offer a well that functions as a sink, some neat toilets (I use the chamber pot from the store, tho), and all that fun stuff. There is also a populated medieval world, Rabenstein, for download, which is pretty well made.
I always tend to stick to sites or creators from over here in Europe for medieval stuff, since, well, we still have a lot of that stuff around. Same as I tend to stick to US creators for Wild West stuff.
P. S.: Also grab yourself one or two mods that disable the automatic actions that do not fit, like whipping out the smartphone or laptop and the like. They exist on here, but I forgot the names. Only this one comes to mind right now:

Tower voice: Flight 2-0-9'er cleared for vector 324.
Roger Murdock: We have clearance, Clarence.
Captain Clarence Oveur: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?
Tower voice: Tower's radio clearance, over!
Captain Oveur: That's Clarence Oveur. Over.
