Default Who says teenage mums are no good?

Roxie Hamble is tucking in her son Joey, just before going to bed herself. Her teenage husband Ron is out working a nightshift to earn the money to keep them all.

You may be surprised at her choice of nightwear, a Newsea silver bikini, but I'm sure Ron won't be complaining when he returns from work in the small hours.

When I started my neighborhood, I used to take pictures of my teenagers right before I sent them off to college. Usually they had their parent or siblings with them and I used to order the photo and put it up somewhere.
I don't do this anymore, but I'm thinking about starting again.

Today is my birthday, so I made this new Romance Teen. Her name - Bertha Day:

Bertha has moved into 70 Middle Lane, Pleasantview, with her older friend Helen Lawton (sitting inside studying cooking.

A few minutes later Bertha is greeting Amy Jones, the local papergirl.

Already in Pleasantview since the end of last month are teenage boys Josh McInnes and Don Barlow

Here Don (standing in "Castaway" loincloth, and Josh (seated in white shorts) are eating supper with their first day guests. Pleasantview Townie Joe Carr is eating his at the computer, while Brandi Broke, Herb Oldie and Harriet Hume are sitting at the table with Josh. Harriet is another recent arrival from CAS-Land. Don and Josh are destined to become townies.

While they were eating, Herb's wife Coral arrived. She got into conversation with Josh and before long she was having a pillow fight with him in the street outside. Coral seems to have fallen for this teenage Adonis hook, line and sinker! When I checked on her later at home all but one of her wants were to do things with Josh. The other want is a generic one to have woohoo in bed. Of course this might be with Herb, but maybe, just maybe . . .
Josh likes Coral as much as Coral likes Josh.

Thanks simsample and Charity for your birthday wishes!

simsample, I'm concerned to hear about your mother. Please keep us in the loop.

And, of course, a Teen Sim Picture:

The Saga continues: Josh McInnes continues his seduction of Coral Oldie, despite Herb being in the room. Josh and Coral now have a mutual crush! I think Josh may be flattered by the older woman's attention. Meanwhile in the background Bertha Day is trying her hand at making spaghetti.

I was playing Bertha's new home at 70 Middle Lane in Pleasantview, and Coral walked by about mid-morning. Bertha went out to greet her and invite her in. Then, about 2 p.m., when they were getting ready to eat, Coral used the house 'phone to invite Josh over -- because there was so much she wanted to do with him. It was Bertha who greeted Josh when he arrived, as she was already outside playing footy-bag with some of the Welcome Wagon guests. As she went to greet Josh, she spotted Herb Oldie passing, and, knowing nothing of the affair between Coral and Josh, she invited him (Herb) in too.

P.S. Bertha made the spaghetti successfully -- she didn't burn it! )

Please excuse the double post, but Andrew has just made yet another friend. But this one could be important! His new friend is none other than Her Esteemed Grace, Juliette Capp, Grand Duchess (and titular head of state) of Veronaville.

Here he is hanging out in the front garden of Capp Manor with Juliette and Romeo. His husband Julian has been friends with Juliette for years; they sometimes go on outings together.

The very first thing that Matt Bryden (teenage son of Diana Silke) did when he got up today, before getting dressed, eating breakfast, or even making his bed, was to get down on the floor and start playing with the dolls' house (which I think originally belonged to his older sister Morven). Seeing him do that, immediately drew me to him, as I spend so much of my time playing with virtual dolls' houses.

Now, I was 49 when The Sims 1 came out, and 54 when The Sims 2 was released, so it was quite impossible for me to play the Sims as a child or teenager. However I did have access to a couple of physical dolls' houses, and, although I did play with them a bit, I only got a limited amount if fun out of doing so. One dolls house was a modern (ca. 1960) one, mainly made of tinplate, and it belonged to my younger sister. Of course nobody gave me a dolls' house of my own -- I was a boy! There was also a more traditional dolls' house in my grandmother's house, about 10 minutes walk from ours. It was of wooden construction, probably plywood, and somebody had fitted it with working electric lighting (battery powered). It had originally belonged to my mother. I think I played with it a bit more than I did with my sister's, but it did have one big limitation -- there were no dolls the right size to play with in either dolls' house. But Matt does have dolls that are in scale with the dolls' house, and, as we can see, playing with them still holds his interest, even now that he's a teen. No doubt he's getting the same sort of satisfaction playing with them, as I get playing with my Sims. He can play their story! Limited only by his imagination!

Now I don't think The Sims would have held my interest for long, if it had only been a building game. It was the Sims themselves -- as living dolls living in the houses and neighbourhoods -- that really made the difference for me. So I see young Matt, playing with the dolls in the dolls' house, as a sort of fellow spirit!

Buttermilk was invited to a party for teens, so she put on her best frock and tried to steal their gnome.

Dammit, that was the electric gnome!

Some time later...

Ah, that's better, that one wasn't wired up to the mains.

"Think of all the simoleons I could get if I sell this gnome! "

I think Pennywhistle suspects something though!
