I don't like them changing into outerwear. As a two finger up at the game I moved a PJ to the outerwear section, now one Sim wears nightie as outerwear even when it is snowing.

Moghughson created a mod a long time ago that prevents Sims from changing into outerwear when going outside. It can be found here.

I've been on a hair downloading spree lately and come to the realization that I absolute hate the clay-style hair. My sims like a little shine and bounce with their hairstyles.

I agree, except for dreads. Clay hair works really well for dreads.

So after trying many, many, many, many times....

I cannot get into Veronaville. It's my least favorite premade hood.

I'm like that with all the premades. I was really trying to be into playing Strangetown, but really I just like the idea of it. Making it possible to create a world that can be anything you want is so magical and I really appreciate all the tools sims 2 gives us.

@Nouh Oh no, what is the problem? Just that hood? Is it all versions of Veronaville or just one you were playing? Start a thread in the Sims 2 Game Help forum if you need assistance.

Hmm. I kind of read Nouh's post more along the lines of "I can't get into it.", as in just not a fan of the hood (Doesn't like it.). I could be wrong though!

My unpopular opinion:
Once you get your head around the way SimAntics works, it's a joy to work with and offers a lot of room for creativity, allowing heavy modding of the game, yet keeping it simple. It's fun! I only started getting into it because I have to manually edit / review every single mod I install, I then wanted to expand how ijprison system works, that lead me to heavily editing that mod. I then took that knowledge to start making my own more extensive mods (New mods, not based on others.)

I guess that your opinion of what it meant was the unpopular one. :P

Alright I think I've got a new one... I don't get Lucy x Alexander like, at all, it's a very "pair the spares" kind of ship. At least with Buck and Jill in Strangetown, they already know each other, for one, and two, there's some interesting stuff you could do with Jill being a half-alien and Buck's dad hating aliens (shoutouts to SHWC!). No such thing with Alex and Lucy.

Not to mention the biggest point against them. Her name doesn't end with an "a"

Sounds like a point in favor of those who set him up with Allegra Gorey when sending him to college! Or pairing him with Angela when he becomes a teen.

And if you do uberhoods, there's Desdemona Capp... though admittedly, I always pair her with Bottom Summerdream. In my game, since one of the TS3 spinoffs has Alexander married to a Cecilia Goth, I just injected Cecilia as a third child of Antonio and Hero Monty and had Alex get with her.

I was about to agree with this until I just noticed (because I don't play with the premade uni hoods much) that Allegra kinda resembles Cassandra , but it wouldn't surprise me if Alex had some unresolved mommy issues

I ike Lucy with Dirk Dreamer, personally. Alex is one of my faves. I've gotten him into all kinds of stories. I don't like to put him in a box.

Buck and Jill are that couple that are so sweet and perfect together, they make you sick in my Strangetown. They have four (!) kids and Buck got alien abducted to boot. Buck is very nonconfrontational, though. His low-key rebellion against his father is taking the Smith last name and never bringing his family to Grunt family functions.

They implication was that since Bella disappeared so early in his life, Cassandra ended up in that mental role. "Sister Issues" just didn't sound right lol, but i like to call it "Little Brother's Burden"

To be fair, a lot of women in TS2 resemble each other, unless they're from Veronaville, the one neighborhood where Maxis tried to give women some stronger facial features... and then gave up.

It was more the similar face, lipstick, reserved gothic look, "bleeding heart romantic" (which Cassandra may or may not be if she fell for Don so easily), but yeah, I see what you mean.

Veronaville is weird in how the sims all look distinct, the neighborhood is well decorated, the houses are uniquely designed, but it still has an air of "rushed jank" to it with its wonky memories, low res thumbnails, and unpolished story images. It's like a PilotRedSun art piece

Back to unpopular opinions; this might be kinda niche, but I like the TS2 base game loading screen version of Sim Heaven more than the full version.

^ I don't get the hype for all the original hoods, especially 19+ years later. The storylines must have been played to death and then some by now, with every pairing and every version of XYZ happening.

I'll sometimes pull up strangetown, more spesifically the Curious family. I just find them a bit fun to play, but not as a storyline that fits with the "supposed lore". Just as family play, 3 dudes doing their best at keeping track with their ever growing family (how? Well, there's the telescope XD - one or two of them occasionally gets a girlfriend, though).

I really like the outlay of the Pleasantview hood, but couldn't care less about the inhabitants, so I found a fully working template with decoration and all but without any sims (yay!) I can use instead.

These days I mostly use the original hoods as test lots/sims for projects. Saves me from the whole issue of me making test sims I like too much and end up keeping around XD

The last test sim I made became a permanent resident in a brand new hood because he just kind of deserved it

I have never played the premade hoods, with the exception of Strangetown (yes, yes, yes, the Curious boys) and a bit of Desiderata Valley, which I, for some reason, found quite entertaining. With the new players we have today, I guess the old hoods deserve some new attention, though.
