Default Michelle's Sung Gyu rug recolors
I am trying to use HL's rug fix on Michelle's recolors. Her description says they are cloned from the Sung Gyu rug, so not Echo's mesh. The problem I run into is that there is no Object Data in the Resource tree! Just the texture and material definition files. Which one of those do I need to fix? And since I can't see it in the Object Data Editor, where is the data item I need to alter?
I think I should add that the 2x3 rugs are fine, but the 3x5 and 4x6 versions are all super dark when placed. No, I don't do off-grid placement.

^ That file is a recolor file. If you want to alter anything that has to do with the Object Data, you need to edit the mesh file.

For the TXMT edit, you need to edit the TXMT(s) in the mesh file + in the recolor files.

(Assuming it's this tutorial?)

And how do I find the mesh file that she used for the 3x5 and 4x6 rug?

Can you link to at least one of the rugs/recolors? No idea which ones they are, and Michelle has a ton of downloads.

If the different-sized meshes are repo'd (use the same textures), they won't have TXTR resources, but they will have OBJD resources, so you can edit just the OBJDs in the repo files, and the TXTRs in the master mesh + TXTRs for the recolors.

If the recolors look fine for the 2x3 rugs, it's probably just the repo'd rugs that need editing (the OBJD), and you likely won't need to do anything with the recolors.

I found the meshes, and they were all type 4, as they should be. I altered the lighting from 0 to 1 in every recolor file, and the rugs are better, but still much darker than the originals. I cannot find anyplace to alter the lighting in the Object Data, and there is no Material Definition file in the mesh file. https://modthesims.info/d/610866/su...-recolours.html See what I mean:

Did you edit the mesh files, too? (if they're repo'd, editing the OBJD should fix it. Repo'd meshes usually don't have MMATs/TXMTs, since they use the ones from the master mesh)

Michelle mentions the rug fix in that download:
Quote:
ETA: Stefana25 mentioned there was a colour difference between the original rug and my slaved rugs, after further testing on another computer I found HugeLunatics Rugs - zMOG!! Off Grid!! fixes the colour difference.

It looks like the repo meshes are set to "type - 4", so they should be fixed already. The recolors (TXMTs) in that post need fixing, though.

Have you tried to delete the cache files? These can sometimes cause bugs or visual glitches with newly edited files.
