Default Sims 2: Roman mode. A proposal for a community project
Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a little project and I’d love to turn it into a full community effort: Roman Mode, a complete default replacement project bringing the style of the Roman Empire to every outfit and hairstyle in The Sims 2.

I started with baby outfits, but as life got busy with work and university, finishing everything on my own became impossible 😅. That’s why I’m reaching out to the community: together, we could create a full Roman wardrobe for all Sims, keeping hairstyles historically accurate (yes, even those weird hat hairstyles 😆).

This is perfect for fans of the Test of Time Challenge: when Sims age up, CC often doesn’t get picked, breaking immersion. Roman Mode aims to fix that, keeping all colors and styles faithful to the original outfits, but giving your Sims a cohesive Roman aesthetic across the game.

Here’s how you can help:

I’ll make a spreadsheet listing all outfits already replaced and all items still missing.
  • You can contribute textures, recolors, or suggestions.
  • Credits will be shared among all contributors and we can all upload each piece separately on our own profile, while keeping the repository updated, so everyone gets recognition and pubblicity for their work!
Imagine your Sims walking around in tunics, stolas, sandals, and hairstyles that actually make sense in a Roman world 🏺✨. Every neighborhood, every Sim, fully immersed in the era!

Whether you’re a seasoned modder or just curious to try something new, every little contribution counts. Let’s bring The Sims 2 back in time and make Roman Mode a reality—together! ⚔️📝

This would be Amazing !!!
I've been wanting Greco-Roman Clothes for the Sims 2 but I have never been successful with making clothes. I've attempted too many times to count.
I hope you are able to get your project to come together.

Good Luck :D

What I've been doing up until now is taking meshes that were already made, retexture them, set them as defaults and post them here (while crediting the original mesher, of course).
Even if you would just recolor the texture, it would be great. I would handle the "simpe" side of things and credit you when I upload the item (if it would be possible, I would make so the download appears on both our pages, just like the instagram collabs I do with other models all the time).

I'd ratherr share it here due to those fact that theme fits

Those are a pack of Exomis. It is a toga loincloth which was appeared in Ancient Greece, but then was adopted by Romans.
Those are not beta, it is ready to go project, I just can not share it officially because of different issues. Something happened with my in-game lighting, CAS lights now look dimmed and I can not create a full pack of good front and back pictures for the each colour. Skins represented on screenshots, light skin and pale are by Amun-RA and dark skin is by cactus, are also not good because they lost scalp textures. So here is just one picture as an example with great gold, great blue and poor gunny recolours.

Theese are recolours for Huge Bodybuilder body type, first invented by Marvine many years ago, then re-utilised by JulieJ and Trepie22 for the loincloths inside their collaboration contest project called "Oasis Jungle Theme". And now there are the recolour packs created by me.

First pack is called great colours - textures with no game matching appearence, raised from the picture of real life drapery. second, twice bigger because of alpha layer, called poor colours - have bleached and torn edition of the great colours with dirty skins. Quite perfect for Roman slaves.

There are twelve recolours in each representing dyes and materials used in Ancient Greece:
- Blue is blue
- Coal is close to black dark grey
- Crimson is red-blood colour
- Cinnabar is another shade of red, more light then crimson
- Gold is yellow with contrast shades
- Gunny is almost white shade of brown
- Linen is light brown
- Malachite is green
- Ochre is another shade of brown. something like brown-to-orange
- Silver is grey with contrast shades
- Tyrian is purple
- Umber is dark brown-to-yellow

Mesh is barefoot but utilise sexy feet pieces. It was set for male adults and for the each type of clothing, hopefully not valid for random. JulieJ allows to share it so this is included in separated rar. I really hope this is the right one.

Those would be GREAT as slave outfits! (I mostly want to do this for the Test of Time Challenge)
I will definitely check into the outfits and see what they can replace.
