Seems to work fine for me in Pets, as far as I can tell. Thank you for this awesome mod. Funny how something so simple is missed by EA.

I don't know how you can say it works in your game - it needs to be updated for the new patch and the Pets EP. They don't get the Saving the Environment moodlet when driving those cars that this mod is for. I've tested it 5 times. That moodlet never came up.

I will PM the creator as it clearly does not work in Pets, Though EA obviously screwed up because when sitting in the Twizy my sim hangs half out riding in the normal driver's spot rather than in the center of the car. But my Sim gets the wasting natural resources moodlet while using this with pets sadly, I love this mod.

This is the exact version of the Twizy I am using

Update:
Please delete all the previous versions and add this one. Note that this mod has changed from the "Scripted Objects" status to "Pure Scripting Mod." If you had edited your custom cars, please redownload them. OBJK edits are no longer needed!

Tuning:
This mod can now be tuned! This will allow you to add custom green cars. In order to add an eco-friendly vehicle, you'll need three things: the car's name*, the type of eco-friendly car**, and the instance of the car's OBJD. Once you've gathered this three things, join them with colons and you're set to go!

Here's an example, suppose I want to add Fresh Prince's 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid. What I have to is download the car (.package version), open it with s3pe, find the OBJD, right-click it, select "Details," and copy the Instance (0x5DEE9E5411B46A36, in this case).

Then, open "SimsMxEcoFriendlyCars.package," find the "Tuning" XML, edit it with Notepad and add the following string to the "kGreenCars"'s value:
Code:
2010FordEscapeHybrid:Hybrid:0x5DEE9E5411B46A36
Voilà ! Eco-Friendly Sims driving that car should get the "Saving the Environment" moodlet.

* Without spaces!
** You're not limited to Hybrid and Electric cars. I have also added support for "BioDiesel," "Ethanol," "AirPowered," "NaturalGas," "Hyper," and "HydrogenPowered" vehicules.

Localization:
Since this mod is now a pure scripting mod, the moodlet's description and origin are no longer default replacements! They are custom, so translations are needed! Again!

If you want to help me translate, please download the "SimsMxEcoFriendlyCars_strings.zip" file, unzip it, open the text file, translate the text within the <STR> tags, and post it here.

This is weird, I came just to update and I see you already have updated the file but thought you should see this anyway. I've been doing some downloading the past few days and didn't test any further. Well I deleted all my caches again, and my thumbnails and then decided to test the PriusV because ya never know and that one was working with the older file, I will however obviously update. Thank you so much for this mod you're so awesome. This and that No Choking while eating are my 2 favorite mods, Anyway here's the screenie

The Fluence however does the same thing the Twizy Did and now my Twizy cannot be used at all (With Older Package)

With the new Package uploaded yesterday I can happily say my Fluence, Prius and Prius V are working perfectly what I have to figure out now is what's conflicting with my Twizy because I can choose to make it the preferred vehicle but my sim cannot drive it anywhere and it loses all it's pie menu options (Edit apparently something in the Twizy conflicts with the NRAAS Master Controller but my Twizy still isn't right because EA screwed something up, Even with all mods out my sim still sits halfway out of the car and both the Twizy and Fluence have a very jagged ride and seem to shake when you're driving them so I guess we'll have to wait for new versions of the Renault cars and then updates your mod on our own to fit the new cars.

Man oh man, am I torn by this mod. On the one hand, I totally get the pro-environmental angle. On the other hand, hopping into a '68 gas-guzzling Mustang or my (ever-so-slightly) less wasteful '78 Firebird just has that raw, primal growly engine joy. I tell ya, that gives me an RL positive moodlet a lot more than a little box with wheels. I may just have to pry this one apart and find a happy medium.

Is this compatible with 1.29 patch update because a lot of mods aren't and thy're causing the game to stick, and I would reak\lly to redownload this item.

This is mod doesn't need an update for the 1.29 patch.

@Serega_93 Did you try to play without mods? Was this the only one? Maybe the in-game Store is conflicting with you, I've heard it has crashed several games if it's turned off.

I've been loving the mod but never got around to learning how to tune for FreshPrince's cars until now. For anyone else interested, these are the only two he has so far:

2009ToyotaPrius:Hybrid:0x2DF823BC7FDE4F5B
2010FordEscapeHybrid:Hybrid:0x5DEE9E5411B46A36

Sims MX, could we get a "Hyperefficient" fuel type as well? For instance, the old Honda CR-X is as fuel efficient as a fairly modern hybrid! In that case we would then also have:

1991HondaCR-X:Hyperefficient:0x5C5BC6A025B48324

-----

I suppose the best strategy on my end is simply to retranslate "Air-Powered" to "Hyperefficient", but it'd be nice to have an actual Hyperefficient category. Sometimes efficient petrol cars are as good for the environment as hybrids -- certainly electric vehicles or hydrogen vehicles, since electricity is just energy that has been produced from some other power plant which is quite possibly petroleum burning or coal fired (nuclear is about the only truly efficient fuel-based power source out there, although it's controversial for reasons of its own) and hydrogen has to be cracked from water through electrolysis or somehow extracted too... ethanol is slightly better but mainly just cheap due to subsidies rather than particularly eco-friendly. Biodiesel is pretty good at least, although it incurs high transportation and distribution costs. Natural gas is about as efficient as any other hydrocarbon fuel like diesel or propane.

Many features in hybrids -- stiff rubber, smaller wheels, reduced mass, aerodynamics, valve timing -- result in similar fuel savings if they are implemented in actual gasoline vehicles, which is why many new cars are so fuel efficient; the only main advantage a hybrid has is regenerative braking and automatic engine shutoff, and even then some hybrids don't even have one or the other. When I was young and stupid I wanted a hybrid, and even stood up and told a class in high school that I would be willing to pay the extra $10000 just to do my part. Now that I'm older and wiser I realised that the best way to be friendly to the environment is not to drive a car at all, but since I still needed one I got one I would enjoy instead -- and still get the same gas mileage as I got in my late nineties compact sedan. =P

Holy rant. Anyway, point is, unless Eco-Friendly equates to Mentally Deficient Hippie (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't), we might as well allow hypermiling gas-powered cars to be considered Eco-Friendly.
