I wouldn't mind having them in my game. They look amazing!

Apart from that you could open hood deco in SimPE and swap for smaller texture sizes.

If anyone is looking for a free program that can properly downsize .dds texture files, give the program called paint.net a try. I've used it for well over 8 years now. The program also supports plugins, if you need additional functionality.

I now also have sims 2 on Linex which promises to be much more resistant to the pink. So if you can get a new SSD you could try jumping on the Linex train, it's becoming more and more popular.

Windows is getting a bit more and more annoying and unstable with each version, but personally, I'm not really sure I could ever fully jump ship to Linux since many games I play don't support Linux. Maybe instead I'll do a partition just to give Linux a try though.

Yes, I will put them in my hood as historical buildings in a historical street.

I tend to think many players will like them.

Finally home! And it looks like Shasta and I had the same idea. I'm also doing a grilled cheese lunch spot! Hopefully I can get my lot ready in time.

@Justpetro and @HarVee Ok! I will work on cleaning the lots for uploading after the competition.

Hopefully I can find links for everything I used cos, lots of them are old CCs and have now no home online I will figure it out lol.

If anyone has pointers on uploading to MTS do let me in on some tips! Thanks!

The biggest part of uploading your lots is done, you already have the pics!
Rest is here: https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?ti...Lots_and_Houses

When you upload a lot for the first time, it will go in a moderation queue, and a moderator has to approve it (I am pretty sure all the lots here in both rounds will be approved).

The moderator will be helpful and may ask you to make some changes, add some info or whatever is needed, but will also approve your lot without you having to make any changes (which again, I think, will be the case for all the lots in this contest).

You are welcome to ask if you want to know anything at all, we will help

I have to disagree with this, the biggest part is definitely sorting through the CC and putting together a proper credits list, especially when most of mine is bundled/edited/renamed so I have to track down the original files in my mess of an archive

I've only shared minimal CC lots so far and even this was already a pain tbh

Thanks for the tip! My fear is CCs crediting lol. Lots of CCs, and some so old that links are hard to find. Like those peacocks

That's why I hardly share lots. Historical lots tend to use bit more CCs to create that look. and can never know when a site/link suddenly goes dead

You are allowed to include cc without links if the site is dead.

Question for Round 3- "5. No more than 3 other fun activities are allowed. These activities must fit in with the theme of the lot." By theme, does this mean the overall theme (e.g, Art or Physical), or does it mean decorative theme? So, if I were to build a surfing- themed pool hall, could I also have a pinball machine on the lot?

Overall - a pin ball machine fits with a pool table? (We played them hard when I was young)!

I'm sorry, everyone, I've had life come at me a bit too fast for the last week. Everyone's entries look amazing! I'm so inspired by all the different themes.

My restaurant was already built and partly decorated but I won't have much time to finish and take photos. I'll do my best to get it in on time. Do we have less than two days, as shown on the timer, or is it more time than that?

Default Round 2 Entry - Lunchbox Bar & Grill

When the Hunters learned that the Lunchbox was up for sale, they acted fast. It was their favourite eating place in Viper Canyon County and one of only a few historic businesses in Viper Springs. After they bought it, they gave it a quick lick of paint inside and opened back up as soon as possible, so as not to lose trade. The construction crews building the new resort also need somewhere to eat. (They did replace the disgusting old toilets, though).

Money is tight, and although the Hunters have big plans, they have been forced to take things slowly. The Lunchbox has always closed at 6 p.m. and the first thing they intend (when they have the funds) is to refurbish the deck and offer lakeside evenings under the stars for discerning diners.

In the meantime though, locals who love the place are pleased that a change of ownership hasn't changed the Lunchbox to any great extent.

I am soooo glad the timer got extended - this is a very busy week for me!
Extra services, meetings, and starting rehearsals for a play (I'm directing.)

...at this point, I'm lucky to have half a second to check this thread.
An extra couple of days will really help. Thank you.

I have a question about round 3 as well, or two actually both about entertainment items:

- Would a computer in the owner's office count as entertainment? assuming the office can be locked only for the owner to access
- Can the "main activity" consist of several items? for example, a training room with two types of weight machines, or a stage with a piano and a microphone?

A computer is office equipment, not entertaiment.
The main activity : e.g. a gym can have all gym equipment.
But you are not going to pur a piano there.

I think you could justify a piano in a gym. If it's main purpose is to accompany exercise. Some types of exercise are typically done to music -- aerobics for example. Or even figure skating, which is an Olympic sport.

When I was a little bit younger than Andrew (12 to 13) I joined a Health and Strength Club, which ran in our church hall. I learned some wrestling there, but I also did what we used to call "Keep fit" exercises, some with dumbbells, some with "Indian clubs", some with a skipping rope, some with nothing. These were done to music. Now we just used records played on a record player (one of the records was Nancy Sinatra singing "These Boots were made for Walking"), but I can easily envisage the circumstances in which a piano might be used. The class leader might choose to play the accompaniment on a piano, so she can vary the tempo of the music to fit the exercise. I suspect a piano might often be used in school for such exercises. My sister used to get something called "Movement and Music" in school. I reckon there's a very good chance that was done to a piano.

All this brings me to thinking about how the Sims might do this kind of exercise. Well, I think the Smustle would be pretty good exercise for keeping fit. In fact I'm trying to persuade Andrew to teach me the Smustle for that reason. Also, everybody doing the same actions at the same time, looks very like a keep fit or aerobics class. Maybe somebody should make a mod so that vigorous dancing builds body skill as well as the hidden dancing skill.

--------------------------------------------------------

One thing I forgot to mention is where I got the name of the Hunts' restaurant from. "Ample Sufficiency"? Well it's what my great, great aunt (who died when was five) used to say when somebody tried to persuade her to eat a little bit more than the tiny portion she usually gave herself. She'd say, "I've had an ample sufficiency." Something similar must lie behind the name of an outside catering company that operates near where I live. Their name, written on the sides of their catering vans is "Elephant's Sufficiency".

@AndrewGloria

One could probably justify anything, that is why this contest has rules.

These are also owned businesses, which, according to the rules, kind of specialize in what they supply. Music is not banned. Sims can gain fitness points from a stereo which will fit into a Sim gym better. And if you have space for a TV where sims can work out as well as watch (sport?) that will work too.

Contestants should remember that the career awards can fit in well in some of the lots too.

I don't want to see a piano in the sim gym and I don't want to see an exercise bike between the piano and the guitar on the stage in a performance theatre.

Also, keep in mind which sim builds the lot and why
