Thank you all! I really didn't think I would get a high score this round compared to the other submissions, I am very lucky to have such a lot of hard drives with such a lot of brilliant custom content to use on them!

Next round I'm going vanilla, Maxis assets only (although I will use some mods to make them work better) so we'll see how crap that turns out!

Yet again I was really amazed by others' creations for that last round, really creative building and decor. I have come away with a lot of inspiration and ideas of how to use assets! There wasn't a single lot for which I didn't think, 'darn, I wish I'd built that, I wish I'd thought to do that!'

I am looking forward to Round 4!

The judges are probably exhausted And thank you again, Cat and Jo.

I'm getting flashbacks to school where I felt like I did decent on a test but then barely pass

Some replies to my feedback
Judge a, I had originally put more windows but they didn't fit in budget and as there was enough light from the open roof, I didn't think them as essential. I had originally wanted to put the bathroom downstairs but the walking space around the pool would have been only 1-2 tiles. Plants didn't fit into budget. I didn't forget them. I just couldn't make it work unfortunately. The open sign is decently visible when you go through the front door. I just didn't show it well in the photos. I hate putting those signs on the actual door as they don't move with it. Due to the roof, I had trouble getting a screenshot inside the office and staffroom. I couldn't get one that looked nice.

Judge b, I mentioned the windows and garden above. The pool ladders and diving boards are not modern in my opinion. They are made of tiles. I'll probably go back and make a recolour of them to match better with the pool tile for personal use.

Judge c, I based my build on Victorian era public baths. Not Roman. Specifically the ones in Manchester in England was my inspiration. They had stained glass windows similar to the ones I used and a similar style glass roof. I couldn't get more columns in due to budget unfortunately. Here's some photos of it. It's such a beautiful building. https://historicpools.org.uk/member...ths-manchester/

I would love to see this "finished" without constraint of budget. I think you have a marvelous start to it.

Remember that these scores are out of a possible total of 65 -- not out of a hundred. Expressed as a percentage your score of 54.5 out of 65 is equivalent to 84%. Certainly not a bare pass! The problem for you and me is the standard of the entries in this contest is just so high! Even the 49.5 that I got in Round 1, the lowest score any of us has got in the contest so far, is equivalent to 76%, which I think I'd be happy enough with in any school test. Especially bearing in mind that, at the Scottish university I went to, we were told that "God only gets 70% here"!

I was very impressed by your entry. It reminded me of some Victorian/Edwardian swimming baths in Edinburgh, some of which are now closed. I'm glad to hear that the one in Manchester seems to have survived.

I've just noticed, my score should be 55 not 54.5
My score from judge c is added wrong

JUDGE C – 17
BUILD SKILL -4
INTERIOR – 4.5
EXTERIOR- 4
PLAYABILITY- 5

4+4.5+4+5=17.5 not 17

Edit to add, What does this mean on my second entry? Host – Requirements – 4 (2 entertaining objects?). I had 0 entertainment objects in my build

@Meowingcookie - I fixed your score. Thank you for informing me!

You have not been penalized for the open/closed sign not showing in the pics (it counts under recommendations, that is why I asked). I give the marks for that.

Running out of budget is obviously what happened to your lot - as you yourself say, you just did not have money for the windows and plants? And that extra columns in the pics above make an enormous difference!

As for the screenshots, that is a recommendation and was asked for by more than 1 judge - I just put it in one place. You can always take a closer shot of these rooms with the walls down and add it to your floorplan shots if the others are not clear.

@Meowingcookie

I added 1 point on the scoreboard for you for Round 2.

As you said then, your screenshots were not all that clear and I think I mistook the 2 objects inside next to the bathroom wall for those uni gaming machine things. I will admit that things got a bit hectic when HarVee could not judge at number 99, normally I probably would have asked and I am not sure why I did not.

As I have asked all along, please tell me if I have made a mistake, I honestly prefer to fix it sooner rather than later.

I am also asking all contestants to use all the screenshots available to them, it will help a lot if we can see more of everything at times.

@Meowingcookie - fixed it in the post with the scores as well - I see I put a question mark there too, I was supposed to ask. Apologies)!

I've actually been checking all the scores and there's quite a few that are wrong. I'm using excel to add them all up. I'll pass it along to you once i'm finished as there's a few totals off by more than 3 points

@Modder and @simmingregency

I fixed your scores in Round 2. My apologies, I should learn to copy and paste and stop typing in the near future!

Have also rechecked the scores for Round 3.

Edit: if anyone spots a mistake in your scores, or in somebody else's scores, please let me know and I will correct it. Thank you for the help, @Meowingcookie.

I’m really happy with how the lighting turned out. Adding one pool wall allowed natural light to come in and make it appear as if the roof gave more lighting in the second and third floor. The pool wall is a hidden catalog item and allows light to pass through instead of blocking it. https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=679658

Hello, I was wondering if Judge B could please let Justpetro know what I could have done to improve my build score (4 points) for Round 3? Just trying to improve for Round 4 but I also don't want to put anyone on the spot, sorry

@shastakiss - I checked the scoresheet from Judge B quickly and only 2 lots (5 each) are above 4 for build skill. I will let you know when Judge B replies

You certainly have scored a lot more points if this could fit in your budget I tend to think that the windows alone may have made a notable difference in your score, simply because it is that first look/ first impression thing. (I hope you will upload it)!

I too love the baths - they reminded me of the Royal Pump Rooms in Leamington Spa (it has since been converted into a library with the mezzanine level and glass roof intact).

I like the sound of the pool walls - they seem useful for certain kinds of builds.

Thanks for the kind comments on my lot. Unfortunately I have a few issues to work out before I could upload it, I think.

Firstly, the slides - they cannot be uploaded with lots partially because of Phaenoh's policy, but partially because I believe they bring some code with them which is a no-no. I am not clear whether deleting the slides would leave the code behind.

But also, they don't work properly. I didn't have time to test this in depth and I think I will also look at the actual code in the files as well but I've had issues with these slides before and it was the same on this lot. I thought I'd fixed it because someone said it's stages they don't work on, so I was careful to only use them between full height walls and the floor or foundations and full height. I also made sure that all the empty tiles surrounding them had the correct "ceiling" clearance even if there was no flooring above there. But it seemed that once a sim got stuck in one of the slides one time, they all got completely broken and from then on nobody could use a slide at all, even in another lot in the neighbourhood. I don't have any clue what is going on there, but now I know a little more about modding, I will have a poke around and see if anything makes sense to me.

I did manage (after submitting my entry) to use the object model from the custom ball pit and place it onto the files from a rug rather than a coffee table, that is now working, so sims can walk through. But it's enormously high poly - about 7k per tile. So absolutely not suitable for an item where there are multiple on a lot - I think there are about 50 on this lot so... bye bye FPS. (Though my computer seemed to handle it just fine, I wouldn't want to foist that on somebody else's computer!) I know nothing about meshing so I don't know if it's possible to simplify the mesh - I assume so, but I don't know how to do it.

I can confirm that it is very playable based on the test sims I took there, aside from the slides not working. Everything else works and nothing gets blocked - aside from the door to the changing area, but that's no bad thing, as in real life you'd have a lock on a door like that whereas in TS2 there is no automatic locking for changing rooms.

The outside is boring - but that's what these places tend to look like. Big old warehouses on industrial estates. But yes, the exterior was very much in running out of time mode. And good point that I forgot lights in various rooms, and mirrors in the toilets! Oops!

The layout was very tricky to show with screenshots - perhaps I could have planned my photos more carefully to show how each level works.

Asian windows - no reason. I just liked them. Although actually when I was taking the front photos, I was reminded of this (which is a real building - a Kindergarten, which is daycare/early education for ages 2-6, and exists near me IRL) which I must try to build in the game!

Hiya Shasta - that's me. I was judge B, this round.
But remember, Justpetro shakes things around each round; I'm not always Judge B.

From the very beginning of this contest...
when all ya'll brought out your big guns, from the start
...I decided I would judge the "skill" portion like this:

5 - WOW! Skillz were used here! CFE, or an incredibly difficult shape, or the Grid-Adjuster was used - and used really well (for more than just a 2-step foundation - which is neato-bandito, but pretty easy, really, to do.)
4 - nice - the building looks good, there is "interest" in the roof, or proportions, etc...
3 - good, average building - no mistakes
2 - less than average - with obvious rookie mistakes
1 - sigh ...I bet your game has a great CAS section, doesn't it

I also don't .5 anything. I believe the scores will be diverse enough without messing around with half points.

I hope that helps? I can't wait to see what you build next.
