@Monsieur_Oshima - that would be such a pity if you cannot complete it in time.

However, with Monday, 21 April, being a public holiday AND my son's birthday, I will give you all an extra 24 hours to complete your round because I am not going to be around much on Monday anyway.

I hope that will help!

(Have changed the clock in the first post).

Thank you for the extra time! tomorrow is a public holiday here too. And happy birthday to your son
I spent some time on my build yesterday night after taking a break from the Sims for a few days and I felt a bit more inspired this time. Maybe it won't be my best work but now I think it's going somewhere at least

Thanks! I hope other people are able to make use of it too, I'm really enjoying running it in my own neighbourhood.

Happy Easter everyone!

I might not be able to finish in time. I’ve struggled to find inspiration and admittedly procrastinated to the last minute as I always do. I’ll try my best tonight but apologies if I don’t finish in time

Yeah you're right lol I did manage it! I always build best mid evening after dinner
This is the first round that I didn't struggle with budget and actually was under!

Round 4: Stewart's Orchard

Helga and Harold Stewart always dreamed of owning a farm and after their daughter moved out, they finally have been able to start their own orchard. After a bountiful harvest, the locals are enjoying lots of fresh fruit. Their young granddaughter often stays overnight while her parents work, so they gave her a room all to herself!
Helga and Harold are a tad eccentric, so please ignore the clown makeup

I have a bit of a problem in that one of the family has taken ill. (That the Stewarts' family --not mine!) Zack Miller has developed a serious cough, and we're afraid it might be 'flu. I'm still trying to add the additional pictures to my entry post, but obviously Zack's health must take priority. Zack is the fiancé of Katrina Stewart, Jake and Brenda's older daughter. He only joined the family yesterday. We were hoping he might help in the business, but now it looks like it will have to stay closed today, to prevent infection spreading into the community.

It feels to me like Covid's back and it's struck Veronaville.

If he won't sleep, try to have him watch TV or play videogames @AndrewGloria . Comfort is the main one that seems to go down when they cough. Or get him to have a bubble bath!

Default Round 4: Nursery Home Business
Susannah and Catherine Stewart spent their lives working hard to scratch a living out of the stony ground in the remote hills in the back end of nowhere. They're not getting any younger, the work doesn't get any easier, and Catherine's daughter Emmy needs a chance to have friends her own age. On one of their infrequent trips into Holtwood, Susannah was shocked at seeing the state of a shipment of scrawny, badly trimmed shrubs being unloaded at the docks. And at those prices! She could produce better topiaries than that and cheaper as well. Meanwhile Catherine had seen a tumbledown old farmhouse close to town that needed new windows, new siding, a new roof and a few other bits of work she could do herself.

After decades of making and fixing almost everything they needed on their hill farm, the Stewarts are incredibly resourceful and can get good results with very little. Catherine found and made many of the fittings for the house and bartered for second-hand windows that were being thrown away. Susannah discovered how easy it was to grow just about anything on Holtwood's soft, fertile soils. Emmy pitched in to help too, and before long they had a weathertight house to move into and made Holtwood their permanent home. They began selling just a few plants at first until they had the money to build an attractive shop - taking care to make it more conventional than the house to give a more professional look.

It was an exciting day when they were able to open the shop to customers for the first time! Susannah and Catherine celebrated. Emmy holds Otis, the cat who had turned up on their doorstep the day they moved in.

Zack Miller is better again. See my post here!

You may all think this is ridiculous, especially since it turned out to only be a cold, but I really couldn't concentrate on my Round 4 entry post, when I knew that one one the Sims involved was ill. We're now into the last three hours before the extended deadline. I've still got some 10 to 12 pictures (mainly interior views of rooms in the house) that I want to add to my post and caption them. Frankly I realise I'm not going to make it. I would therefore be most grateful, @Justpetro if you could keep Round 4 open till the morning like you did in Round 3 -- say till 7 a.m. Pretoria time. That would give me enough time to make the changes I want.

Sorry to be such a wimp and thanks in anticipation!!

Default Round 4: Stewart Vegetable Farm

After living for most of their adult life in the big city, Lucille and Marge Stewart can finally afford their dream: their very own farm in the quiet countryside. They wanted a modern but cosy home, and plenty of outdoor space to grow their vegetables of course, but also to enjoy the outdoors with their friends and family.

This time I decided to learn something new and experimented with the grid adjuster for the first time! I really struggled to find inspiration for this one though
I'm very happy that I still managed to put something together in the end, now it's time to sit back and relax

Something interesting I noticed between peoples entries is that in the lot info, some say 40x30 and others say 30x40. Mine said 40x30 and I had to double check I had picked a 3x3 lot because when I checked someone else's entry to make sure and it was 30x40, I thought for just a second that I had picked the wrong size but it was definitely a 3x3 lot. I wonder if it’s a regional difference?

I think it's most likely dependent on which orientation the lot is, in relation to the hood.

I've now finally finished -- five hours past even the extended deadline. I'll try to explain what went wrong when I've had a little sleep.

I noticed that too when I was ready to post, and then thought "oh crap, don't tell me I built on the wrong sized lot!"

Good morning, everyone! I just came home after the birthday bash

Entries look amazing!

Size is probably the Lot Adjuster (adds 10 tiles to the road, there is a mod that does that and gives other info too with it, so it may also be that).

I am just going to sort out my morning and will be back a bit later to add everyone to the table, close the round and call in the (probably still sleeping) judges

@Justpetro : Since you still haven't closed the round, I've just added one more picture to my entry post. It's the one of a now recovered Zack Miller painting while fellow artist young Gwendoline looks on. I always meant to include this picture, but somehow, what with not being able to keep my eyes open any longer, I missed it. Apart from the floorplan, it's the only picture showing this room.

Please don't be cross with me. I realise I'm pushing the envelope a bit, adding an extra picture at this very late stage.

I have added everyone to the table.

Round 4 is now closed, sad to have lost some contestants, but, oh, boy, the entries are just out of this world!

Calling in the judges: @joandsarah77 and @CatherineTCJD.

Judges get 5 days to judge, and we should be able to have the final results on for you by next Monday or Tuesday (time zones ).

In the meantime, I want to ask all of our contestants and judges for constructive feedback about the contest. Keep in mind that it is the first time I host a contest, and that it is the first contest in quite some time! Personally, I have thought of things I probably should have done a bit differently, but what I do hope is that building contests will be back.

This is your chance to tell everyone what you would like in a future contest, perhaps there is a potential host looking! Thank you all!

Hey everyone. I know I haven't been around for the contest; I do apologize for that. But after round one I realized I can't be critical of your lots. I want to essentially be able to see the positive things about each one. Thinking about what each of your 'mistakes' makes and trying to be critical of them simply for the sake of a contest honestly had me depressed during round one. I don't want to see the negative your work and be the one to be negative and judgmental of it.

I would like to thank each of you for your entries for all of the rounds, and I would like to thank @Justpetro for taking over my role.

Thanks for reading,
~Harvee.
