Default best dating spots
Where do you find your sims having the best dating experiences ? Granted it is all about fulfilling their wants, and sometimes just about trying to keep them together without wandering off, but there are alot of creative people on here and alot of great looking community lots for download. I personally have not downloaded alot of community fun spots, and I am still experimenting with the Maxis made ones. , but part of my enjoyable experience with this game is to hear how others enjoy playing and their stories behind it.

I'll plug this lot http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=213108 every chance I get. Echo for the win! It requires all EP's up to and including Pets. You can dl the lot as a ready to go thing , or create your own with the parts provided. I'm very anti Piaget in the simming world , so I trash the swings and bouncing castle and replace them with a photo booth and a cigarette machine. Snag the upgraded carousel from Hexameter , linked to in Echo post and then add this http://www.modthesims.info/d/190771 and your sims will have a truly unique experience.

There are grills , an espresso stand , facilities and fun stuff galore , so other than hygiene all needs can be met or helped without changing the lot at all. One of the first lots I place in every modern hood and I never get tired of sending sims there. Great place for a first kiss or a 10th public woohoo with a service sim , either way.

Home, because it's faster (no loading time for community lot) and no chance of standing date up because for some reason your sim couldn't get in the car fast enough (almost every time I try to go in the car, the sim gets there, stomps and points at the ground, walks around the car then back before getting in. Stupid EAxis coding.) Also, no rivals showing up.

Because it can sometimes be hard to get past the "eat out with sim" want, I generally send mine to a restaurant. It will surprise no one to know that which restaurant depends on the couple, and of course I tweak the lots. I try to rotate in Drama Acres and give all the restaurants equal time, but musical sims are more likely to go to FM or Midnight Flows (where I've added instruments and a photobooth), teens to Red's or one of the bowling alleys, college students to the Hub, older couples to One-Twenty-Five, couples with engagements on their minds to Londoste. Londoste is the default destination for outings because it's the only one with an eight-person table.

Poker tables can be hard to pry a date off of, so Rodney's is a pick-up location, not a date venue.

Give me a music source, a restaurant, a makeout couch, a compatible couple, and a photobooth, and I'll show you how to work a dream date.

Once they're in love, you hardly need a thing. I have a community lot in Strangetown that consists of a bench and four tumbleweeds - an ideal makeout spot for the couple that wants privacy.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

For going out, I make my own restaurants and such - and my own downtowns - and never use the EAxis ones.

Since mine always tend to get distracted during home dates, I usually send them downtown. One of my favorite places is Go Here Sunshine Park. There isn't much to distract them from their date so the dates always turn into dream dates.

I have some community places I build with-in my Sims neighborhood like restaurants, Clubs, etc, so my Sim can save gas ( lol ) and not travel all the way downtown. I love for my Sims who are dating or married, engaged to go out and dine, I love the interactions that dining offers.

A. Feed a bite, blow kiss, hold hands, Share a toast.
B. Club dates interactions dancing, and Slow dance, the slow dancing is super with head on shoulder, lower hands on butt (lol ) give a kiss, dance closer.
C. Go out Bowling or Roller Skating or Ice Rink.

All of these places or activity are an excellent dating places for Sims and if done correctly can turn into "Dream Date." I think I'll in love.

I just take them off somewhere with a restaurant and a bed available upstairs (or other woohoo spot equivalent). Generally covers all bases. That's if I want them to enjoy themselves. Which is not necessarily a given.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

Of the EAxis lots, I find that the 50s diner, the 50s bowling, Crypt O'Night club, Londoste ... umm what else. Those are the ones I frequent. Dates ALWAYS want to eat, greedy buggers. So I like restaurants that have other amenities to fulfill wants.

I find I can get a dream date pretty much anywhere provided I take my Sim's aspirations into consideration. That said, I often opt for a home date because of the fast loading times and reduced likelihood of lovers being caught cheating. Of course, Circe Beaker doesn't care what her various lovers think of her, so she always has her dates in the community partly because of the risk of being "caught"...

All of my dates are home dates. Visits downtown just distract them from the matter at hand.

Dates in my game are home dates, always. My poor 'hood Georgetown has only a grocery, a graveyard, and a recently built gym, so there's nowhere date-ish to go anyway.
I've got one of my families working on saving enough money to open a restaurant, though - so there should be somewhere to go soon! I've got to say, I'm quite looking forward to seeing how dates at this sort of venue will complicate the numerous love triangles in my 'hood. >

No matter where I put those Sims of mine, it's a challenge to have a challenging date, I tell you. So instead of setting them up for success, I generally tend to set them up for a challenge: take them somewhere where not all is available and then proceed somewhere else where *some* stuff is available. My Sims rarely spend a date at one spot, though I do tend to give the married couples more attention - they usually work too hard during the week, as the pillars of my communities, so a date is a reward, be it at home or at a com lot - so I will take them to a spot that suits all their needs, if there's one like that around.

I usually start a date on a lot that the Sim that has asked on the date (date-er as opposed to date-ee?!) likes to hang. Where to next - that depends on what the date says they want. I usually play the date with the heavy use of the "Ask.../What do you want/fear?" interactions, if the date isn't from the same household, and then roll with their answers. S/he wants to go for a swim? Okay - the pool/beach it is! S/he lost the want to swim once they got there? Ah, well - that's my Sim's luck. Etc. With some Sims - the not very nice ones - at times i won't even make the effort to satisfy the date's wants. Why would I, if my Sim isn't as nice and isn't into swimming anyway?
It's way too easy to have a dream date, IMO. This way, not so many dream dates - and that LTW becomes a true challenge, even if the Sim in question is in a three-bolt, happy marriage.

Anyway, depending on their interests, in Simville, my Sims can choose between:
1. The Blue Beach lot (a restaurant, a cafe, a bar, tons of outdoor activities: chess, telescope, the beach!
2. Simville Cinema (for my film lovers - again a restaurant, a cafe, and the cinema
3. The Pink Flamingo Casino - for my playful, gaming Sims - a bar, a cafe, a pool table, a casino
4. Hot Spot Day Spa - massages, hot tubs, sauna, a restaurant
5. Hotel Ampersand - a restaurant, a cafe, a bar, a piano - for my classy and/or cheating Sims
6. The Wild Cat Nightclub - for my dancing Sims and/or generally younger population (teen+YAs)
7. Gym - for those overly active Sims I have - it has all the possible gym equipment, a restaurant, a cafe and a bar.

Each has at least one woohoo spot: a photo booth, an out-of-plain-sight sofa (ACR woohoo spot), a bedroom, a hot tub, or whatever.
All of the above lots except for the beach and the nightclub, have been built by my fav Sims builder, Plasticbox, for her "Backdoor Lane" lot series. The day spa used to be a res lot from the same series but it had such a community feel to it that I converted it into a com lot.

The best thing about a good thing is that it inspires a better thing. ♥ Receptacle Refugee ♥

Out of curiosity, why don't you just look at the date's wants/fears panel? I'm always locking that 'dine-out' want so that it doesn't go and roll away when they actually reach the restaurant.

Because she wants to make it difficult. She said that twice.

I run with the date panel open or closed depending on who the participants are. An apprentice dater with a relative stranger can't be expected to pick up hints well, so the panel stays closed; typically for first and second dates with at least three different dating partners, though this number might change depending on contingent circumstances or the character of the sim. Estebanico Casa and Billy Ghote don't get open wants panels except with their wives, because the side dates are sex toys, not people, to them; Mickey Dosser doesn't get them yet because his autonomous behavior and wants panel still characterize him as clueless.

The wants panel comes open, even on a virgin's first date, once a woohoo want is rolled, because by the time they've gotten that far you don't have to be very astute to pick up the signals and because of my particular rules about when woohoo works; however, certain people who are established as selfish may only get a brief scan at this point before I close it again. A character nasty enough to actually commit date rape wouldn't get it even then, but that's not an area I typically go; nor is it one the game mechanics support. Sometimes I'll open the wants panel for my own information at this point, but only fulfill the active sim's wants - he doesn't get the benefit of the information, but I need to have it in order to understand what's going on in the date's mind.

If the novice dater is with a lifelong friend OR an established veteran OR in Drama Acres a full Hawkins, the wants panel is open. If the novice dater is a full Hawkins with all the benefits of Hawkins training, the wants panel is open. I'm having to fly by the seat of my pants with the grandchildren, depending on circumstances and their relationships with various family members.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

I have custom downtowns with custom date spots, usually involving a trio of features. Examples:

restaurant + bowling + kareoke

bar + dancing/DJ + Restaurant

live music stage + billards + Poker + Darts + Bar

rollerskating + arcade + smaller restaurant set up

coffee + chess + bubble blower + deli

fishing pond + swingsets + swimmable lake (For sims who like doing outdoor activities.)

coffee + restaurant + art museum and sculpture garden.

Some names for these date spots:

*The Garden of Eden
*Cross Corner Cafe
*Sweet Marie's
*Endless Blue
*Rockstar Dining
*Memosa Metro Museum
*Bay Plaza
*Rollerderby Lanes
*Spectacular Spectacular
*Downward Spiral

so they are pretty varied and sims can still interact with each other, eat, and have a good time.

Uh oh! My social bar is low - that's why I posted today.

I like the names for those date spots Charmful. That's one of my weak points, making up names for anything, so I end up with somthing like a little fishing spot called The Pond.

And a big seaside community lot with a playground and barbecues called....tada! The Beach.

Thanks Simonem! Also, SIMple names are great too like I would totally go a spa that was just called 'The Spa' - it's kind of chic in a way...though probably wouldn't have a sim date going on at a spa, lol.

Most of my Sim's dates are all about going out. Except for pregancies, and too lazy to bother! I make my own places to go, but for dates there's always a restaurant. If I want a quick, no fuss, just dinner. I make small cafe's, with some music, in case they want to dance. Engagements, are usually done at one of these places. Then I'll have places for a dancing, drinking, and karaoke. Or pool and poker joints. I'll make a couple of bowling alley's or teen friendly lots. I also add shops, in case my Sims need clothes, food or a pet, before going home. The common denominator, of all these dates out is there's always a place to woohoo. Whether that's by car, photo booth, or changing room. And yes, some do actually make it home to bed, but as I said if I want some shopping to be done, and I can get a dream date with public woohooing. Then I'll end the date at the community lot, particularly if I'm trying for them to get pregnant. Most of my Sim babies, are conceived on community lots! Once baby is conceived, date is over. Shopping begins for one Sim, and the other may socialize with other Sims.

The only thing though about woohooing in cars, is if my Sims have a mini van. I'll have one Sim get into the drivers seat, and ask his/her date to join...and they do except more often then not the date will sit in the back. And I don't believe they can woohoo that way! So, I'll get them home, and finish date there. I know I sound like I'm obsessed with woohoo, but when my Sim's are at home and doing their daily things, one might be already asleep, or at work. So dates-may be like in real life, gives my Sims time to re connect!

I usually follow my sims wants and pick accordingly. Since I started a new ' hood, my loading times are a blink of an eye, so I'll often wind up taking them on a tour of 2-3 spots. Changing lots is an easy way of rerolling wants and often adds to the excitement factor.

The 3rd spot (if home is not available because there's an oblivious spouse there) almost always involves a photobooth as car woohoos can be futzy to set up sometimes.
