Since we've found a way to get the hairs from Sims 3 and walls into this ... is there a way to get other objects like bibles and crosses and such? I have the programs that were mentioned in the hair tutorial, I just don't know which file or files to change to make into medieval.

I am disappointed that I can't get the Walls to show up in game. They really are very beautiful and I hate how rustic the default ones are. I added the .package files to a package folder within a mods folder within the Sims Medieval folder in the Program Files. Have I missed anything? Could there be some setting preventing these from showing up? I have tried the Resource file both outside the Packages folder and inside it.

The resource.cfg file goes in the C:Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims Medieval not in the /mods or /mods/packages folder.

Yes, it goes in Program Files > The Sims Medieval (in the same place as your Mods folder)

Just an update, I checked and actually they look good with textures on medium once you recolor them.

They also look particularly good with the wicker/weave textures from the game - really great for the slightly better than peasant but not quite royalty homes. Thank you again for these, Alex

I just wish I could get some of the patterns I downloaded that are .Sims3Pack files into TSM. But it's not possible at the moment as far as I know. It might be if I had Sims 3, but I don't.

Try with Delphy's Sim4Pack Multi Installer, I think you don't need to have Sims 3 installed.

I think patterns made with EA's pattern maker won't work, but you could always give t a try.

I just saw these and they are fabulous! However, now I'd love to have them in my original Sims 3 game! Are you going to upload them soon to a site like MTS or TSR? Thanks for any info! They are beautiful! Great Job!

Yes, I'm planning to but real life has delayed things a bit... actually you can also use these in Sims 3, but I wanted to upload them with nicer preset textures and smaller file size. Hopefully I can manage this week.

Your walls are terrific. Thanks for creating them. I will try them out later today.

I adore your walls. I'll admit, I only downloaded them because there was so little custom content and needed something new to experiment with, but kept them because they are the best walls in my game. My castle never looked so royal with the boring brick or stucco walls, and now it's fit for a king. Truly, a fantastic job. Thank you.

I just installed the new 2.0 patch and the new Pirates and Nobles expansion pack.
These walls are once again a lifesaver! The new P+N wallpaper is awful.

I was a bit frustrated having to decorate my Royal Palace with walls that looked like they belonged more in a run-down tavern, so I made a few walls and thought I might as well share them. I started extracting EA textures from TS3, but I got carried away and made a few more elaborate ones. Some of them are not strictly "Medieval", rather more Gothic, Renaissance or Tudor, but the game includes costumes up to 1600, so you know...

A few things you should know:

- Technically these are Sims 3 walls, but I made them for my TSM game and they work fine. I haven't figured out if it even possible to edit TSM walls (including two-story high designs and the repeat pattern feature), so these are just 1-tile, 1-story (like many of TSM EA walls, by the way).

- I had to use higher resolution images to have them render properly in TSM, which makes the files heavier (between 1,6 and 2,2 MB), I've marked them clearly in case you don't want to keep them all.

- I had to pack them with plain color textures otherwise TSM wouldn't "recognize" them. They're a bit bleh at first, so to make them look as nice as in the in the snapshots you need to recolor them once you place them. All the textures I used in the previews are original TSM patterns. I also noticed the original texture is a tiny bit blurry but once you recolor them they get nice and sharp. Go figure...

- You need to have your textures set on "High" (in the options menu) for them to show really nicely, but object textures has nothing to do with walls, so that can be on medium, if you need to. UPDATE: Actually, no, sorry, I checked and once you recolor them they look good enough with the textures on medium, high textures can really slow your game down...

- For the "Royal" walls I recommend placing one of each (there's three in the set, a 1-tile panel, and a 2-tile mural with left and right part), recoloring it, and saving the recolor as a preset, it will be easier to decorate the rest of the room. In the snapshot you can see the walls with two different recolors, one more "grand" for the Throne Room, and one more "domestic" for the bedroom.

- You'll find them in the Paneling section, I think they cost 4 $.

- To install just place in your Packages folder.

Have fun!

This is some really cool stuff. Nice job mate.

You can add me to the list of people whose decor has benefited from this mod! I mean, really there's nothing to redeem my interior decorating, but I'm sure my heroes are glad that at least the walls look good.
