This was an extra credit poem we could do on the Holocaust for my Social Studies class.

12 million stories gone untold

12 million names for the record books old

Scratched down with broken pen

By crazy mind, by German men

12 million names that lost their face

12 million people who lost their place

Homes given to those who would not

Appreciate what they have now got

12 million numbered, tattooed, and killed

12 million had camps left still to build

With broken boards and rusty nails

Transported by those worn out rails

12 million innocent now dead

12 million stories now must be spread
